Item As abordagens historiográficas recentes sobre o jesuíta Jorge Benci e os novos horizontes de pesquisa(2024-12-03) Maia, Sheyla Mafra Holanda; Leite, Bruno Martins Boto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3005775363936476; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8345867252412083Historiographical studies on Jorge Benci are far from being abundant compared to those of Jesuits who were his contemporaries, such as Antônio Vieira. The scarcity of works is perhaps justified by the fact that they are, almost always, limited to the analysis of Benciano's work Christian Economy of Masters in the Government of Slaves (1705), limiting the debates about the Italic Jesuit and his productions only to the theme of African slavery. The objective of this study, therefore, is to analyze the historiography produced about Jorge Benci, since the 1980s, in order to point out new questions and paths of analysis for future research on the Jesuit priest.Item Os agentes da repressão em Pernambuco e seus Modos operandis (1965 -1974)(2019-07-11) Nascimento Neto, Clovis João do; Silva, Marcília Gama da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0090863442089957Item Os agentes da repressão: o Esquadrão da Morte e a relação com Pernambuco (1979 -1985)(2019-07-11) Correia, Marcilio Fernandes; Silva, Marcília Gama da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0090863442089957Following the perspectives addressed by the New Political History and the importance of the debates about the period in which the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil (1964 -1985) was in force, this article aims to historicize, to point out the practical approaches and the modus operandi of a of the mechanisms of social control and repression during the military regime in Pernambuco, the Death Squad. Thus, through the notions of social control and analysis of discursive practices in the light of the theoretician Michel Foucault and the approach of Bauman's state-gardener, the trajectory, strategies and targets to be attacked by the squadron will be the main points of the discussion. With the support of the DOPS documentation and a careful selection of theses, dissertations and bibliographical works on repression, we will seek in the article to present the importance of the debate on this cearaItem As aias também contam história: a utilização d’ O Conto da Aia como linguagem alternativa para o ensino de História(2019-12-16) Feitosa, Rhaissa de Souza; Bezerra, Rozélia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0968758655400113; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3302145276038718Item Uma análise da atuação do governador Salvador Correa de Sá(2023-09-20) Silva, Walter Lopes Bezerra da; Abril, Victor Hugo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7978574619584394; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8643765635502507This article analyzes Governor Salvador Corrêa de Sá during the colonial period in Brazil, focusing on the Regimentos and the Cachaça Revolt that took place in Rio de Janeiro in 1660. Through this analysis, it was possible to verify that the Regimentos theoretically delineate the hierarchical superiority of governors over other colonial positions. However, upon exploring bibliographies that delve into the everyday life of Portuguese lands in America, other sources of power, these being local, can be identified. Villages and Municipalities played a role in colonial politics, signifying that although the Regimentos confirm governors as representatives of the king, in practice, we observe local powers engaging in political dialogue directly with the Portuguese monarch. Thus, it can be inferred that governors, despite having royal authorization to act as "moderating powers," local powers continued to operate within their own limitations and in constant dialogue with other spheres of power.Item Análise do potencial pedagógico dos jogos digitais Banzo e Mandinga(2023-09-21) Leão, Thiago Luiz de Souza; Barbosa, Lúcia Falcão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5667594441132627; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6391891459731710In this article, we aim to analyze two Brazilian digital games, Banzo and Mandinga, which lead the player to experience different scenarios of a slave society. Starting from the perspective that they bring into play important values and meanings for the cultural and identity recognition of subjects still invisible in school historical contents, we will analyze the importance of both as a playful tool for the production of historical knowledge. The methodology that we are going to apply in this article is based on the proposal of Giacomoni (2013) for whom the game configures a pedagogical resource for the construction of creative teaching and learning of history.Item Um antro de doenças: guerra, cotidiano e condições de saúde no Recife holandês (1630-1654)(2018-08-27) Belfort Júnior, Wilson Pires; Miranda, Bruno Romero Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8746246350935536; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7537105628785587This article aims to present, in the form of a historiographic review, the daily life of the population of Recife during the Dutch occupation in the North of Brazil, specifically dealing with the city’s health conditions between 1630 and 1654. The study focuses on the area chosen to host the local government of the West Indies Company, where problems related to environmental degradation, potentiators of diseases among the inhabitants, hinder to maintain the population’s healthy. This state of affairs was influenced by the choice for the estuarine zone, where commercial operations were already carried out and the main infrastructures for this purpose were already in place (seaport and warehouses). The negative factors which the elected area offered the population, such as the maintenance of salubrious conditions to the detriment of the military defense, stood out especially after the end of the administration of Count Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen in 1644. The analysis tries to relate occurrences of diseases, epidemic or non-epidemic, in the invading population already deprived of food and other supplies during the long insurrectionary period. In the last eight years of Dutch occupation, the reductions of the occupied territories and the concentration of population in the urban area of the Company's local headquarters, caused a loss of salubrious conditions for the resident population, and the casualties ended up potentializing the loss of resistance capacity by the occupants.Item A arte de uma margem distante: O “Festival de Artes Pão e Tinta” na favela do Pina (2015 – 2022)(2024-03-08) Freitas, Emmanuel Vitor Brito de Souza; Silva, Fabiana de Fátima Bruce da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1540421518242292; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1984180238291088The International Bread and Paint Arts Festival has been held annually since 2012 in the Pina Favela, in Recife, Pernambuco. The event opens a public selection every year to welcome graffiti artists, musicians, and volunteers who typically engage for five days in a kind of "arts carnival," featuring street graffiti, concerts, and social actions such as hairdressing, braiding, and turban tying, among others. As an independent cultural production, it was conceived as an alternative for the youth of Pina, working on the revitalization of public spaces in the community, thus becoming our main tool in defense of our territory, threatened by real estate speculation. Art emerges from one of Recife's most neglected areas by the government and breaks through the statistics as an alternative for young people to envision a future away from violence, drugs, and crime. With this article, we aim to construct an experiential narrative that problematizes and questions the importance of this activity within a reality of exclusive public institutionalization of artistic/cultural spaces only in the elitized areas of Recife City, demonstrating that peripheral organizations already fulfill this role, addressing this deficit with little or no resources.Item As artes do desenho e da pintura na Olinda colonial: os artífices jesuítas e suas obras. (1551-1759)(2020-10-26) Patriota, Paulo José Falcão; Leite, Bruno Martins Boto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3005775363936476; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7683702803374338This work investigated the brothers of the Society of Jesus who were in charge of painting, sculpture and other crafts related to the art of drawing - such as carpenters, gilders and carvers, residents and workers at the Real Colégio Jesuíta de Olinda and their possible art workshop, between the 16th and 18th centuries. Initially, we understand the main problems and discussions regarding the concept of Baroque and its multiple uses for European and Brazilian historiography, with pictorial arts being our focus. Then, assisted by the extensive work of the historian Serafim Leite and by the Triennial Catalogs of the Company of Jesus, we carried out a prosopographic survey of Ignatian artisans and their works.Item Asas quebradas: estudo das prisões políticas de crianças durante o período ditatorial militar brasileiro (1968 – 1976)(2019-12-16) Bezerra, Rivaldo de Araújo; Silva, Marcília Gama da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0090863442089957; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1347469043914593The silence of the dawn of March 31, 1964, is cut by movements that would alter the entire Brazilian reality. On April 1, the military and civilian forces would actually carry out President João Goulart's deposing plan beginning the period known as the Brazilian dictatorial period. Upon the nation's defense aegis has sprung a whole repressive web that will make heavy efforts to maintain the regime at all costs. The use of violence in the cellar of the dictatorship embodied in torture to opponents the most obtuse way of punishing and disciplining the bodies of subversive sayings, no group of people can escape the clutches of the repressive organs, this communication aims to analyze prisons and tortures made to a specific segment, the children. Therefore, the research consists of an analysis about the way the news related to the subject was treated and, in addition, it is examined how the journalistic discourse dealt with such actions while it used its power of diffusion of information to make denunciations regarding behavioral patterns that no longer fit into the modernizing city.Item Autoritarismo e repressão judicial na era Vargas: o Tribunal de Segurança Nacional (1936-1937)(2023-12-17) Rego, Ítalo Nery de Albuquerque; Silva, Giselda Brito; http://lattes.cnpq.br/232740425342635; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5724647015195611The present work aims to analyze the authoritarianism and judicial repression to the communists during the time course of the called first Vargas government (1930-1945) leading from the National Security Court (TSN) experience. However, the time frame approached is directed to the years of 1936 and 1937 when, after an attempt of armed coup leaded by the Aliança Nacional Libertadora(ALN), the judicial repression against the bolshevik doutrine is intesified. In this sense, has sought to compreend the formation of the repressive apparatus from the dictatorial project of the Estado Novo in the Especial Justice scope. Both born in the peripheral of large urban centers, Belo Horizonte e Rio de Janeiro, carry in their experiences and, consequently, in their musical production, collective memory. Moreover, It is intended to point out the absence of the use of rap lyrics and songs in the teaching of history in schools. Thus, it is sought as the theories that encompass cultural history in Brazil, highly widespread from the 1980s, to aggregate the subjectivities, new approaches and new objects, expanding the History writing of Water Benjamin, E.P. Thompson, Margareth Rago and others, influenced the historiographic rescue of these authors who use different languages, the literature and rap music, respectively, contributing to the protagonization of memories generall silenced in national history, both at the university and in other formal and non-formal spaces of education.Item Cabaré Chanteclair (Chantecler): as noites perfumadas de um Recife de outros tempos (1950 – 1960)(2021-07-13) Santos, Helton Cezário dos; Nascimento, Alcileide Cabral do; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0117492153657559; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5545422434251637The present work proposes to approach, from a certain time cut, the night activities that had as stage the Chanteclair building. Our purpose is to bring up a piece of Recife's almost forgotten history, give voices to anonymous people, let them speak, tell us their stories, tell us their memories and, from these memories, give life to the old Chanteclair building. We wanted to make explicit what was behind those windows, to let emerge to our days, part of the daily life of what was once considered one of the biggest and most renowned strongholds of prostitution in the Recife port area. It was a place of strong presence of anonymous and intellectuals who, although spontaneously, fraternized there. Bringing the Chanteclair building back to the scene, scrutinizing it, retrieving details of the functioning of the then cabaret Chantecler, a place of lights, luxury, elegance, imposing temple of glamour that for its beauty and majestic appearance enchanted even members of British royalty who passed through here. A story that enchants some, that remembers them with nostalgia, while saddening others, or better, others, that also remembers them, but with sorrow, sadness and even a certain shame of certain things lived and witnessed there. For better or for worse, the Chanteclair building, today a prisoner of an unfinished restoration process, still stirs those who travel through the busy and touristic Marquês de Olinda avenue and its surroundings, either for its magnificence and beauty, or for its history. This history has inspired us this writing and delicious research, whose objective is exactly to invite the reader to a trip to the past of the perfumed nights of a Recife of other times.Item Caiu na Olimpíada de História e agora uso nas minhas aulas!: os debates envolvendo as questões de gênero na ONHB (2015-2017)(2021-03-04) Vieira, Maria Eduarda; Andrade, Juliana Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9273063697259288; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4838349970389030Knowing the importance of the act of evaluating in the school routine and the challenges imposed by the process, this article seeks to reflect on the impact of the National Olympics in Brazilian History (ONHB) in the way the field of History Teaching thinks about the evaluation of learning. Through a brief historiographic panorama on the meanings of teaching and learning history, and by analyzing the evaluation process at ONHB, we problematized gender issues in the tests. In view of the growing numbers of gender-based violence in the country and the negative repercussions on the cultural practices of children and adolescents, it was intended to observe how gender issues are mobilized in the Olympics. To this end, we selected some questions that were asked in the tests of the first, second and third phases, from the 2015 to 2017 editions, in addition to the bibliographical survey about the evaluation of learning, the Olympics and gender studies. In a preliminary way, we can affirm from this study, that the ONHB allows / the teacher / the expansion of the way of thinking the evaluation and progression of historical knowledge and the students the exercise of thinking historically about gender issues of the present time.Item Os caminhos do professor encenador: teatro, letramento e ensino de História(2019-12-16) Lima, Felipe Cruz de; Bezerra, Rozélia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0968758655400113; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1320765509364548Item A canção popular como recurso didático no ensino de História: um estudo sobre concepções e práticas docentes(2019-12-13) Andrade, Lukas Alisson Gouveia de; Silva, Lucas Victor; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0058476610695399; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4795559345410177This article aims to investigate teaching conceptions about the use of popular song in History Teaching. To do so, we will discuss local powers and how administrative positions within the grant were distributed, addressing their functions and obligations within the captaincy and duties towards the Crown. In addition, we will expose the revenues of the captaincy of Itamaracá and the interest that the captaincy of Pernambuco had in them. We will make reference to the uprising of Goiana as one of the most illustrative conflicts regarding political groups and their disputes of interests, especially after the Dutch invasion in the region, which led to the incorporation of the captaincy of Itamaracá by the Crown. Finally, we will attempt to explain how Itamaracá endured in the possession of the grantees for so long, even amid a period of successive incorporations into the Crown, while also presenting the reasons established by historians that seek to explain the failure of this captaincy.Item A Casa do Estudante do Império (CEI) e a poesia nas lutas anticoloniais (1944 – 1965)(2019-01-18) Lima, Matheus Henrique da Silva; Silva, Giselda Brito; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2327404253426354; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5242883424192013In view of the historiographical discussions, based on the New Political and Cultural History, about the contributions of literature as a source for aid in the construction of the history of certain societies, the present study aims to present the Home of the Students of the Empire (CEI) (1944-1965) and the poetry notebooks, until then condensed in the collection "Autores Ultramarinos", produced within the association, as spaces of information, resistance, awareness and hope before the cultural, economic and political fractures driven by the presence of the colonizer, especially in Lusophone Africa. Thereby, we seek to know, analyze and historicize the Home of the Students of the Empire, as well as the profile of its members, identifying in the literary productions contained in the collection the main criticisms to colonial actions, discussions about an identity, revaluation of cultural aspects of possessions and notes related to the desire to disengage from the Portuguese domain. Thus, the study was done through the reading and analysis of documents produced within the institution, available in the digital collection of Mário Soares Foundation (FMS), Union of Capital Cities of Portuguese Language (UCCLA) and bibliographical references, among theses, dissertations, articles and books that contribute to the discussion of the importance of Portuguese-language African literary productions as a space to generate new visions about the internal conflicts and subsequently the history of these countries during the second half of the 20th century. Therefore, the present study seeks to contribute to the elaboration of a contrasting mosaic to the discourses disseminated by the colonizer, which are still present in a certain way in many spheres of knowledge related to the African continent.Item Circulação e usos dos têxteis importados no Congo e Angola (séculos XVII e XVIII)(2019-07-10) Novaes, Fabrício Leal; Lopes, Gustavo Acioli; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4871749798523527; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2992019802617367The present article intends to discuss the use of imported textiles among Western Central Africans Congo and Angola, related to the slave trade, since fabrics were one of the main products used to acquire slaves in those territories, circulating everywhere.
