Item Extinção do Aldeamento de Cimbres: reelaboração espacial e transformações das identidades indígenas na Serra do Ororubá (Pesqueira/PE), 1850-1879(2024) Nascimento, Alice Victória do Monte; Dantas, Mariana Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8568216121012333; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9502249666929102In this text, we seek to present the interventions of indigenous policies in the 19th century, focusing on the Aldeamento de Cimbres, analyzing how local changes, continuously restructuring that environment, built complex relationships and caused essential changes in indigenous identities. With this purpose, based on a bibliographic review and analysis of official documents, using the concepts of territorialização and resocialization, we focus on the specificities of the process for the extinction of the Aldeamento de Cimbres in Serra do Ororubá in Pesqueira/PE. Finally, we make a brief assessment of how indigenous people remained after the extinction of the Aldeamento.Item Os indígenas aldeados e a guerra na documentação administrativa da Companhia Holandesa das Índias Ocidentais no Brasil (1630-1647)(2019-07-20) Silva, Lucas de Lima; Miranda, Bruno Romero Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8746246350935536; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1677345577430632In this article, we will discuss the role of the indigenous villagers as an auxiliary military force in the expansion and safeguarding of the territory conquered by the Dutch West India Company from Portuguese America in the 17th century. The underlying questions that led to this research are based on the concepts, theoretical discussions and methods characteristic of a Historical Domain that emerged in National Historiography in the last decades of the 20th century: the “New Indigenous History”. The work of this field has left an important reassessment of the impact of the actions of Amerindian individuals and groups on historical processes and events, in the light of reinterpretations of certain concepts, as well as from the criticism of previous historiographies. To carry out this proposal, we will essentially analyze Dutch administrative sources in order to identify the extent - quantitative and qualitative - of the military employment of indigenous villagers, their relationship with war activity during the period in question and the centrality of the colonial “aldeamento” system to the practices of Dutch and indigenous people in the face of war.Item Disputas, mistura e transformações identitárias: o processo de formação do lugar de Águas Belas e do Aldeamento dos Carnijó, em Pernambuco, entre as décadas de 1650 e 1760(2022-05-31) Santos Neto, José Cordeiro dos; Dantas, Mariana Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8568216121012333; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3864055213140532Between 1654, after the expulsion of the Dutch, and 1760, during the administration of the Marquis of Pombal (1750-1777), several processes were carried out within the captaincy of Pernambuco, which directly interfered in the organization and way of life of the indigenous people. The indigenous people who inhabited the region of the current municipality of Águas Belas, in the countryside of Pernambuco, went through processes of contact, re-elaboration of identities, formation of alliances and conflicts over land, appropriating the colonial mechanisms, according to the limitations imposed and their interests. In this way, this article has as main objective the analysis and interpretation of these relational processes and disputes over land, between the decades of 1650 and 1760, in the formation of the place of Águas Belas and the Carnijó village.Item A importância de conteúdos digitais para o ensino de História: articulação política indígena e revisão historiográfica(2024-09-23) Lima Filho, Henrique Rodrigues; Dantas, Mariana Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8568216121012333; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8646187137396793This article aimed to point out the actions of indigenous peoples in the present time as protagonists in the historical construction of the country. We discussed Law No. 11.645/2008 determining the teaching of history and cultures of indigenous peoples in schools in Brazil, which is fundamental in the entire teaching process on this topic. We carried out a brief historiographical review of important authors to think about the topic. Finally, we deal with the actions of indigenous peoples in the present time, emphasizing content published on social networks, with the potential to become subsidies to be used in teaching indigenous history in Brazil.Item Os indígenas e a guerra luso-neerlandesa (1630-1654): uma análise da historiografia(2024-03-05) Silva, Gabriel Vinícius Oliveira da; Miranda, Bruno Romero Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8746246350935536; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9368777654940870The Dutch invasions of Brazilian territory (1624-1654) are a strong point within the historiographical field of our colonial period, due to their unique characteristic of being a chapter that, although considered brief within an analysis of Colonial History, is also one of its best documented episodes and, consequently, one that has been worked on. Within this rich period, usually referred to as Dutch Brazil, some subjects seem more recurrent, such as the different types of colonization, the specificity of the so-called 'Brazilian War' and its main characters, among others. Everything is widely debated and many high-quality works can be found, providing a wealth of content for all those interested in the subject. The indigenous issue, in this sense, appears as one of the most relevant and defining in characterizing the period. With this in mind, this paper aims to ask the following questions: How are indigenous people dealt with in the historiography of Dutch Brazil? The aim of this article is to find out how the main authors on the subject deal with indigenous populations and their involvement in the Luso-Dutch wars.Item Entre o sertão e a Companhia: uma análise sobre a relação entre o povo Tarairiú e neerlandeses durante a dominação neerlandesa nas Capitanias do Norte (1630-1654)(2024-03-05) Oliveira, Júlia Samahra Santos de; Miranda, Bruno Romero Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8746246350935536; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0030330461417897This paper seeks to analyze the complex situations of contact and relations established between the tapuias and the Dutch during the years 1630 to 1654, a period that refers to the Dutch domination of the captaincies of northern Brazil. The essay begins with a historiographical contextualization of the studies carried out on indigenous peoples over time. It then critically analyzes the sources and narratives dealing with the tapuias peoples, understanding that these writings, mostly by Dutchmen, were imbued with pejorative views and prejudices against them. The Dutch, like other Europeans, constructed justifications for their civilization in their narratives. In a third section, the work chronologically outlines the main moments of contact and alliance building between the Dutch and the tapuias. It seeks to understand the perspectives and interests of the latter within the complex colonial sphere.Item Populações indígenas no sul de Pernambuco: o caso do Riacho do Mato e da Colônia Socorro (1860 - 1880)(2023-09-20) Ferreira, Ailton Robson de Oliveira; Dantas, Mariana Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8568216121012333; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0537716810045849The main objective of this work is to understand the process of formation and dismantling of the indigenous aldeamento in the Riacho do Mato region between the 1860s and 1880s, located in the south of the province of Pernambuco, close to the border with Alagoas. It is central to the analysis to understand the convergence and interactions between different historical subjects who inhabited or circulated in this territory, indigenous and non-indigenous. After the extinction of the aldeamento of Riacho do Mato, in 1873, the Colônia Socorro was created in the same place to receive migrants from the drought in the interior of the province. Even with a short duration, 1878-1880, the Colônia was the reason for profound transformations in the place due to the entry of thousands of new residents, the restructuring of the territory and public administration.Item “Dos índios do Brasil em geral”: povos indígenas na “História geral do Brasil” de Francisco Adolfo de Varnhagen(2023-09-19) Lira, Maria Augusta Freitas Barbosa Paiva de; Dantas, Mariana Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8568216121012333; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5150234226847838Item Vasos, cuias, panelas e potes: os grupos ceramistas Tupiguarani na Mata Atlântica, Ipojuca - Pernambuco(2023-04-24) Barros, Wirlanny Evelyn Oliveira; Luna, Suely Cristina Albuquerque de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4941715690112297; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0220219826252278The present work seeks, through the materials evidenced by the "Archaeological Salvage Program in the area of the Northeast Refinery - Abreu e Lima," to rescue the presence of the Tupiguarani groups in the history of the region that comprises the current municipality of Ipojuca in Pernambuco. Such archaeological traces belonging to the Tupiguarani Tradition demonstrate the cultural richness of the human groups that inhabited there in different periods, establishing important criteria for the discussion about the history of human occupation in the research area.Item A participação indígena nas guerras holandesas (1630-1654)(2023-04-26) Silva, João Paulo Freitas da; Miranda, Bruno Romero Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8746246350935536; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4194572732499392The presente article is a historiographical review on the Pernambuco Restoration war that caused a great impact on the functioning dynamics of the Captaincies of the North, but not only on the colonizers. The various indigenous peoples in the conflict area were also affected. In the context of war, the most diverse existing indigenous groups ended up taking advantage of the social instability to negotiate both with the Portuguese and with the Dutch, in order to try to change or maintain the dynamics that ended up favoring their interests. These groups of natives had a great impact on the outcome of the combat for both sides, composing a substantial number of combatants in the fights and also applying their own method of warfare. They also conquered military positions and possessions for their adherence to the conflict, which may lead us to reflect on a supposed dynamic of subordination.
