Item Potencialidade de terras para irrigação do Território Indígena Potiguara para a cultura do milho(2024-02-27) Passos, Wesley Gois; Santos, Jean Cheyson Barros dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5698373233632800; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4925768451235270The present report on the Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI), developed under the supervision of the Embrapa Soils researcher, Dr. José Coelho de Araújo Filho, analyzes the potential for irrigation of lands within the Potiguara indigenous territory, specifically for corn cultivation. The studied territory is located on the northern coast of Paraíba, covering approximately 21.2 thousand hectares and is recognized as traditional land of the Potiguara indigenous people. The area comprises various soil classes, predominantly Argisols, Spodosols, Gleysols, Neosols, as well as areas with mangrove soils. Overall, the lands demonstrate a medium irrigation potential for corn production, with the main limiting parameters being the textural class (V), the percentage of Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ (Y), the basic infiltration rate (I), and the depth of the reduction zone (W). The collected data showed corn cultivation as a viable option for agricultural activity in about 70.67% of the soils within the Potiguara territory. Thus, highlighting the importance of the results obtained in this study, as they can be used to contribute to more informed choices regarding sustainable and efficient soil management, as well as the increased productivity and sustainable growth of the people in this territory. A strategy to increase this demand and reduce environmental impact is the use of wastewater for irrigation in association with mulch, which can bring benefits to the soil microbiota, greater availability of nutrients and agricultural productivity. The objective of this work was to evaluate the abundance and microbial activity in soils cultivated with forage cactus, irrigated with sewage wastewater and with mulch. The experiment was at the Parnamirim Production Unit - PE, using reused water from the sewage treatment plant for irrigation of forage cactus consorted with buffel grass and sudan sorghum. The forage cactus was implanted in double rows 0.5m x 0.5m x 2.0 m, with the cultures intercalated between the double rows, with the experimental unit formed by three double rows of 4 m in length each. Four replications were used in the design in randomized blocks, in factorial arrangement 2 (intercropping with sudan sorghum and buffel grass) x 4 covers (no cover, 8 and 12 tons of corn straw per hectare and natural vegetation). We evaluated soil basal respiration, carbon and nitrogen from soil microbial biomass and metabolic quotient, at 0-10 and 10-20 cm layers. There was no significant difference in soil basal respiration, microbial nitrogen, and metabolic quotient at 0-10 and 10-20 layers. Estimating carbon from microbial biomass at 0-10 cm layer, we observed a significant difference between the intercrops without vegetation cover, however at 10-20 with buffel grass, the 8 tons mulch differed from the other treatments. In this sense, the objective of this study is to evaluate the water relations of the parsley under different concentrations of salts. Two experiments were carried out in greenhouse, in the Experiment 1, in the factorial scheme (6 x 4) with six salinity levels of the nutrient solution (1.7; 2.7; 3.7; 4,7; 5.7 and 6.7 dS m-1), prepared on the basis of four cationic natures (NaCl, CaCl2, KCl and MgCl2). No experiment I the water of the evapotranspirated blade was replaced with water supply and without experiment II a replacement was made with brackish water based on the cationic natures mentioned above according to treatments.
