These testudines are present in different environments, from terrestrial to freshwater and marine environments. They may occupy urban areas due to habitat loss or be bred in irregular captivity. The trafficking of wild animals and the introduction of exotic species are an aggravating factor that cause several environmental imbalances with the withdrawal of the free-living animal for the illegal trade, threatening biodiversity. Therefore, the management of Wild Animal Screening and Rehabilitation Centers in the states is of great importance, for better treatment, handling and disposal of animals. The modalities for wild animals to enter the Centers are apprehension, rescue and the “Voluntary Delivery” where people who illegally raised an animal spontaneously deliver to CETRAS for rehabilitation and, if possible, release for reintroduction to the environment. Having the need to provide a diagnosis on the entrances and exits of Testudines, the objective of the work was to analyze the entrances of Testudines, evidencing the richness, abundance, regarding their origin and health status. At the same time, produce guidance material and scientific dissemination. The CETRAS Tangara entry forms with the evaluated data are from January 2019 to December 2021. A total of 10 species and 1648 individuals of Testudines were entered into CETRAS from January 2019 to December 2021, included in the Rescue category (n=506) and Voluntary Delivery (n=1136). The species with voluntary surrender values was the red-footed tortoise, Chelonoidis carbonaria, and from Rescue it was the chinstrap turtle, Phrynops geoffroanus. Its origin was predominantly in household captivity and peri-urban environments in the municipalities close to the Aldeia Beberibe APA Conservation Unit, being Recife with 52.6%, Olinda 14.2%, Jaboatão dos Guararapes 11.9%, Paulista 10.8% and Camaragibe 10.5%, Pernambuco, Brazil.Item Relatório de Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório realizado no Centro de Triagem de Animais Silvestres (CETAS Tangara), Recife-PE: tráfico de fauna no Brasil e sua influência na circulação de zoonoses: perspectivas na saúde única - revisão de literatura(2021-12-10) Freitas, Jonathan Martins de; Silva, Jean Carlos Ramos da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8705354960174177; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8047389228180068The main goal of the current work is to describe the activities made by the student Jonathan Martins de Freitas during his mandatory supervised internship at “Centro de Triagem de Animais Silvestres” (CETAS Tangara) in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, from September 1st to November 12th, 2021, with a 424-hour workload. The internship was focused on wildlife medicine and rehabilitation, under the supervision of the veterinarian Natália Costa Teixeira dos Santos and guidance of Prof. Dr. Jean Carlos Ramos da Silva. Serving the internship in different places and sectors allowed a unique and enriching experience due to the professional knowledge of the team in the areas of general, reconstructive and orthopedic surgery. During this period, a case of neoplasm in the oral cavity of Python Molurus Bivittatus was treated and it is described in this review. The male snake, weighing 29.950kg, was referred for care presenting signs of edema in the rostral region, dysphagia, pain, as well as a structure of firm consistency near the mandible that protruded ventrally to the region. During the surgical procedure, the presence of bone involvement was confirmed, but taking into account its biology and food biomechanics, only the soft tissue tumor was removed, that is, mandibulectomy was not chosen. Choosing a technique that preserves the mandibular structure allowed a significant improvement in the clinical condition of the patient, since, after a few weeks of postoperative and wound healing, the animal no longer needed analgesics to eat, returning to its normal natural behavior and quality of life. It is concluded that despite the evolution of Veterinary Medicine, when it comes to oncology in reptiles, further studies related to the use of auxiliary therapy, such as chemotherapy are necessary. Therefore, surgery is currently the best treatment option for this condition.
