Item Abordagem metabonômica no estudo da toxicidade de plantas da família convolvulaceae contendo swainsonina e calisteginas(2019-12-13) Nascimento, Ana Lessa Oliveira do; Souza, Francisco de Assis Leite; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5304030174444186; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1434642356384009The Compulsory Supervised Internship (CSI) was held at the Parisian Institute of Science and Technology of Life and Environment (AgroParisTech). The institute, considered the most important in France on life science research and development, is divided into eight centers across the country, two of which located in Paris, Avenue du Maine Center and Claude Bernard Center, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. There are 11 Research Units composed of one or more laboratories and teams of teachers, technicians, doctoral students and master's students, these units can be mixed (those under the supervision of more than one entity) or their own (supervised by the institute itself). More precisely, the CSI was conducted at the Mixed Research Unit (UMR) Systemic Modeling Applied to Ruminants (MoSar), which is administered by AgroParisTech and the National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA), which is under the Ministry of Research and Ministry of Agriculture. The aim of the internship was to start the formation in metabolomics, showing how the methodology can contribute to the study of plant poisoning, in this case to the group containing swainsonine and / or calystegines, that affect farm animals in Brazil, and to produce a literature review on the subject of the internship. Metabonomics is an important research tool that allows investigating the metabolic pathways affected in a toxicological process. When performed properly and periodically throughout an experiment and with pre-designed protocols, conceived from a biological problem, it is possible to follow the evolution of the intoxication process, identify useful markers for the establishment of pathogenesis and diagnosis, and in the case of global metabolic, that is, one can make discoveries that had not been raised in the initial biological questioning. This is possible thanks to the holistic characteristic of the technique, which makes it possible to visualize and quantify even the most subtle variations in metabolites concentrations. Plants containing swainsonine and calystegines are responsible for numerous cases of animal poisoning in Brazil, mainly goats in the Northeast due to factors related to extensive and semi-extensive breeding, these substances cause a severe neurological syndrome that can lead from decreased productivity to even death of animals, which can cause economic loss to producers, who often have animals as the main source of income, making it very important to clarify the mechanisms involved in establishing this disease in order to find solutions to the problem.Item Achados clínicos e histopatológicos de cães com dermatite atópica utilizando diferentes dietas comerciais como coadjuvantes à terapia convencional(2023-04-18) Monteiro, Paulo Ricardo Romão; Nascimento, Júlio Cézar dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4343017315156292; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1499855858522597Item Ações integradas entre o Departamento de Medicina Veterinária da UFRPE e a Delegacia de Polícia do Meio Ambiente - DEPOMA(2019-01-08) Costa, José Yuri Hiarita; Oliveira, Andrea Alice da Fonseca; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2519790342576901Item Acompanhamento e controle zootécnico do sistema de produção de pequenos ruminantes (caprinos e ovinos), do CODAI/UFRPE, localizado na região da Zona da Mata Norte, no município de São Lourenço da Mata - PE(2021-12-07) Brito, Admilson Ribeiro Toscano de; Freitas, João Antônio Gomes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1765326853404114; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7228033819346383The Obligatory Supervised Internship (ESO) was held at College Agricole Dom Agostinho Ikas of UFRPE, Campus-Tiúma, in the Animal Science Area, in the Nucleus de Caprinovinocultura, located in the forest Mata Norte region, in the district of Tiúma, municipality of San Lourenço of the Mata, Pernambuco, under the supervision of teacher Dr. João Antônio Gomes de Freitas and supervision of teacher Drª. Elisa Alves Vilar, with a total workload of 420 hours, in the period from 08/30/2021 to 11/16/2021. Zootechnical Monitoring and Control of the Goats and Sheep Production System were carried out, involving management of facilities; food management; reproductive management; productive management; sanitary management and disposal management. This work aimed to report the main activities related to the experiences developed during the referred internship, in the goat and sheep production nucleus of CODAI-UFRPE, in the routine of raising goats and sheep. The production nucleus, mentioned above, has a fixed squad of 22 animals; being 10 goats and 10 sheep (parents); 01 goat and 01 ram (breeders), in addition to the offspring, calving, which occur during the breeding routine. The goats are predominantly of the Anglo-Nubiana breed, while the sheep come from the Santa Ines breed. The intensive production system, with an emphasis on animal welfare, is the method adopted by the production nucleus. The installations consist of suspended bays with slatted floors. Nutritional and food management is carried out in a balanced way with elephant grass pasture (Pennisetum purpureum) and supplemented with protein and mineral concentrate. The main diseases observed and treated during this period were some bacterial diseases such as caseous lymphadenitis, food poisoning, epidermatitis and parasitic diseases such as worms. Discards are carried out following the guidelines for the genetic and productive improvement of the herd. During this period the animals showed an average weekly weight gain ranging from 250g to 350g per animal (50g/day).Item Acompanhamento técnico da cadeia produtiva do camarão (Litopenaeus vannamei) realizado na Potiporã - Samaria Camarões LTDA(2019-02-01) Santos, Manoela do Rêgo Barros; Moura, Andrea Paiva Botelho Lapenda de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6414540974581675; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1498292510891744Having the perception that the supervised internship required to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine is the moment where there is the association between the theoretical knowledge acquired during the graduation with the daily practical experience, this final paper aims to report the experience of technical monitoring of the production of Pacific White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). The internship was carried out in the period between September 18, 2018 and December 5, 2018 in the company Potiporã - Samaria Camarões Ltda. The activities developed were carried out at the Post-Larva Unit, located in Touros-RN, at the Shrimp Farm and at the Beneficiation Unit of the company, both located in Pendências-RN. The practices were performed following the production flow chart of the company, starting at the Post-Larvae Unit, which has the objective of producing quality post-larvae, going to the Shrimp Farm, where the animals are cultivated for about 105 days and has an approximate production of six tons per hectare per year, and lastly, at the Processing Unit where procedures were followed from the animals in the nurseries until the final product (frozen shrimp) was sent to shopping centers. Each of these stages was supervised by Veterinary Roseli Pimentel Pinheiro e Silva, general manager of the post-larva unit and the company's technical manager. It is currently regulated by CFMV Resolution 1,138 / 2016. The objective of this study was to carry out a survey of ethical-professional processes within the Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine of the state of Pernambuco (CRMV-PE) from 2014 to 2018, highlighting information related to the origin of the complaint and to the main infringements committed by veterinary practitioners during the said period. Based on the information duly authorized and transmitted by the CRMV-PE, 23 complaints were totaled during the period, 60% (12/23) of these coming from the lay public and all complaints of this group 100% (12/12) were referential the area of small animals; 22% (5/23) of public entities, of which 60% (3/5) in the area of large animals, 20% (1/5) referring to poor hygienic conditions in a commercial establishment and 20% (1/5) professional ethics; 5% (1/23) were from private institutions and 100% (1/1) referring to the area of large animals; 5% (1/23) from the CRMVPE and this 100% (1/1) referring to professional ethics and 5% (1/23) of origin related to other Veterinary Medical professionals and this complaint regarding professional ethics. According to CFMV Resolution 1,138 / 2016, 64% (14/19) of the professionals violated Article 9, item I, which provides for practicing professional acts that characterize: malpractice; recklessness and neglect. Of the 19 complaints generating cases, one was judged until the deadline of the survey, culminating in the application of a serious penalty. We are increasingly inserting animals into the family nucleus, being treated as true members of the family, so their tutors did not hesitate to seek the competent bodies to denounce any conduct that they consider not appropriate for their animal, I believe that for this reason , the vast majority of complaints are within the competence of the small animal area. The Veterinarian should always do what he can, recognize his limitations and know the code of ethics so that he does not commit any act that can generate a process for him.Item Análise epidemiológica das notificações das leishmanioses e leptospirose humana no estado de Alagoas, Nordeste do Brasil(2020-11-06) Bugarim Neto, Clarício Alvim; Barros, Mércia Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1935392548217410; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9863818675601439The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) is part of the curricular matrix for completing the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the “Universidade Feral Rural de Pernambuco” (UFRPE). The student completed his total workload of 420 hours, from August 17 to October 30, 2020. Veterinary physicians professionals play an important role in Public Health, which constitutes an eminent field of interdisciplinary performance, through the application of knowledge professionals, aiming at the prevention of diseases or injuries and the promotion and recovery of animal and human health. The present work of conclusion of the course contains the description of the activities developed in the “Superintendência de Vigilância em Saúde” (SUVISA), which is an organ belonging to the “Secretaria de Estado da Saúde de Alagoas” (SESAU) and to report an epidemiological analysis of the notifications of leishmaniasis and leptospirosis in the state of Alagoas that was carried out during the internship period. Surveillance aims at the continuous observation of the distribution and incidence of diseases through the systematic collection, consolidation and evaluation of reports, regulating the dissemination of this information to the entire population. In the health field, surveillance is related to the practices of care and promotion of it to citizens and to the mechanisms adopted for disease prevention. The activities developed provided constructive moments, also promoting criticality within the moral and ethical-professional precepts. ESO contributed greatly to the level of practical learning, allowing us to observe the importance of integration between the services provided by the Unified Health System and the need for attention from new veterinary medical professionals to the concept of One Health, which seeks effort collaborative work of several professionals who work locally, nationally and globally, to achieve optimal health for people, animals and our environment.Item Análise radiográfica quantitativa da silhueta cardíaca de carcarás (Caracara plancus) de vida livre(2022-10-30) Santos, Paloma Raphaela de Souza; Costa, Fabiano Séllos; Reis, Afonso Cassa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5648455698412892; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6876055943439186; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7310517217546502This work reports the activities carried out in the mandatory supervised internship (ESO), a mandatory subject for completion of the veterinary medicine course, at the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco. During the ESO, it was possible to monitor and assist in the performance of imaging tests, such as ultrasound, radiography, echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, surgical risk, digestive endoscopy and respiratory endoscopy and in the preparation of their respective reports. A scientific article was prepared, this presents data obtained from radiographic studies performed on healthy caracaras for cardiological evaluation.Item Anasarca por cardiomiopatia restritiva em paciente felino: relato de caso(2018-08-08) Rufino, Samara Viana; Souza, Daniela Maria Bastos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4856221548369438; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0732947916729156The intership was happened at the Hospital of Veterinary Clinics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Porto Alegre, from April 2, 2018 to June 29, 2018, all activities being supervised by Dra. Fernanda Vieira Amorim da Costa and accompaniment by all residents, masters and PhD in the Small Animal Clinic sector. The mandatory supervised intership happens, especially, in the Feline Sector (Medfel), with a total of approximately 100 felines during these three months, many cases could be experienced, but one case can be excel for your rarity and few studies about. Anasarca or generalized edema it’s a condition can’t be observed in adult felines, being associated, in most cases, with poor fetal formations. This happens by the changes in the fluid exchange mechanism of the organism, taking to a exacerbated deposition of fluid in the interstitial space of the entire animal organism. This condition has described a few times in adult patients and is rarely reported in association with restrictive cardiomyopathy, this condition can change the cardiac diastole due to the high deposition of fibrin in the myocardium, block the normal functioning of this heart, to atrial dilatation mainly. The feline patient doesn’t have patterns in clinical findings that lead to more effective studies in the case of heart disease and because they demonstrate significant behavioral changes late, being attended many times when the course of the disease is at a level described as difficult to treat and unfavorable prognosis, makes it difficult to identify specific factors that facilitate the treatment and preventive diagnosis in these cases, being this disease in particular idiopathic cause and little is known about how it manifests in these animals. The objective of this report was to present the case of a feline patient with an anasarca, as a consequence of a restrictive cardiomyopathy, seeking to provide more information to the staff, in order to facilitate the maintenance of the life of these patients and to promote support for diagnostic methods.Item Anatomia clínica aplicada à odontologia de cães e gatos(2023-09-18) Ferreira, Mateus dos Prazeres; Andrade, Moacir Bezerra de; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8254242572414884; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1142105954631842The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) comprises a crucial moment in the learning curve of veterinary medicine students, being a moment of challenge for future veterinarians who will put into practice all their knowledge, fundamental to professional excellence. With a view to personal improvement, this report addresses the ESO, which took place between June 1st and August 14th, 2023, with emphasis on the area of Small Animal Surgical Clinic. Divided into two parts, it began on June 1st and ended on the 30th of that month at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) under the supervision of M.V. Dr. Robério Silveira de Siqueira Filho and collaborators. Between July 3rd and August 14th of that same year, ESO began to be carried out at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in Areia, Campus II, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Felipe Nael Seixas and collaborators. The two experiences totaled the 420 hours required to complete the bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE. Knowledge of the regional anatomy of the head and neck is essential to work in veterinary dentistry and the veterinarian, to be successful in the dental clinic, must become familiar with the very delicate structures of this anatomical region, which is made up of bones of the skull, face and jaw, its joints, innervations, vascularization, glands and adjacent tissues, as well as the lymphatic system. In this way, it is possible for surgical intervention to become much safer and more precise in the care of dogs and cats. As an integral part of this report, the last chapter will consist of a syllabus proposal for the creation of the optional subject entitled “Clinical Anatomy Applied to Dog and Cat Dentistry”, for the Undergraduate Course in Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE. This menu aims to contribute to the scientific and academic community, with the aim of compiling basic and important anatomy concepts for one of the veterinary medical specialties that has been growing the most and gaining ground, which is dog and cat dentistry.Item Anemia infecciosa equina: revisão de literatura(2019-12-13) Rodrigues, Davi dos Santos; Maia, Rita de Cássia Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2624582592628384The Mandatory Supervised Internship is a discipline that aims to insert the student into the professional context in order to provide a practical experience through the application of the knowledge that was acquired along the course of studies. It is an opportunity for the student to practice techniques and to fix the concepts learned and prepare for the execution of the activities that will be carried out in the work routine. This study aims to report the ESO activities that were carried out in the LFDA-PE Animal Diagnosis Unit, which were carried out under animal diagnosis, from August 19 to November 25, 2019. The internship allowed contact with several diagnostic techniques used in the laboratory routine and also stimulated a literature review on EIA, viral infectious disease that affects equids. The EIA is a viral disease of great importance for the equids raising, which reasoned the literature review that constitutes the second part of this work.Item Anestesia em cão submetido à cistectomia parcial após ruptura de bexiga por trauma automobilístico: relato de caso(2023-04-28) Souza, Maria Carolinne Ramos de; Silva, Alessandro César Jacinto da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4423843040345060; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5396157293295305The present work aims to characterize the routine and activities carried out during the period referring to the vigency of the Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI/ESO) that occurred between november 7th, 2022 and january 20th, 2023 at the Popular Veterinary Clinic of Animal Life Association (ALA/AVA) located in the city of Ribeirão Preto – SP. The assignments were carried out under the guidance of Professor Doctor Alessandro César Jacinto da Silva and supervision of the Veterinary Doctor Raquel Stamato Malta and included animals’ evaluation during pre surgical, trans-surgical and post-surgical, picking up the ideal anesthetic protocol for each patient, dosis calculation, drugs administration, trichotomy, venoclysis, anesthetic induction, endothracheal intubation, multiparameter monitoring, systolic blood pressure verification and solving possible anesthetic complications. Aspects pertaining to the location where the experience took place are described in the report, as well as a detailed record of cares and procedures performed, followed by a case report of anesthesia for partial cystectomy in a 7-month-old male long coat Chihuahua dog presenting uroabdomen due to bladder rupture associated with necrosis and pelvic fracture due to automobile trauma.Item Anestesia em paciente pediátrico canino submetido à toracotomia para correção cirúrgica de persistência do quarto aórtico direito - Relato de caso(2022-06-07) Pereira, Maria Carolina Marinho; Tenório, Ana Paula Monteiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1785548386077618; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6393575755879106The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) is the last period of the mandatory curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). During this period, the routine of a certain area of veterinary medicine is experienced in order to improve and put into practice the knowledge acquired during graduation. The present work aims to report the experience at ESO, held from February 14, 2022 to May 04, 2022, completing a total of 420 hours at the Harmonia Veterinary Hospital - Casa Forte Unit, in the city of Recife; and to report a case of anesthesia in a thoracic surgery procedure in a canine pediatric patient for correction of the persistence of the right aortic arch. The anesthetic protocol used consisted of methadone, propofol, intercostal nerve block with bupivacaine, infusion of remifentanil in association with ketamine in the trans-anesthetic, infusion of fentanyl with ketamine in the post-anesthetic, among other drugs. The necessary care was taken taking into account the age group of the patient and the type of procedure to which it was submitted. During the anesthetic-surgical procedure, the patient did not present any complications, nor did it show any discomfort in the postoperative period.Item Anestesia geral inalatória em cães e gatos: revisão de literatura(2022-10-13) Silva, Patrícia Valéria Andrade da; Silva, Jean Carlos Ramos da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8705354960174177; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2902274216972403The completion of the Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI), as a component of the Veterinary Medicine course, aims to provide the student with an experience with practical, real, in the chosen area of study. Enabling complementary knowledge of the resources studied during the course. Thus, the present work has the objective, related to the activities during the ESO, in the area of Medical and Surgical Clinic, with a literature review in the area of Veterinary Anesthesia, it was realized between 27 June to 03 October by student Patrícia Valéria Andrade da Silva.Item Anestesia geral multimodal para celiotomia exploratória em equino (Equus ferus caballus) acometido por síndrome do abdomen agudo – Relato de caso(2024-09-05) Bailo, Vivian de Souza; Batista, André Mariano; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5615914349535394; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4089579627319222The Mandatory Supervised Internship (referred as ESO in portuguese) in Veterinary Medicine was conducted in the fields of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Equine Clinic and Surgery from April 1 to 30, 2024, at the FZEA/USP-Pirassununga Veterinary Hospital, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Adriano Bonfim Carregaro; from May 1 to 31, 2024, at the Clínica Veterinária Guadalupe, under the supervision of M.V. Guilherme Alberto Machado; and from June 1 to 30, 2024, at the FMVZ/UNESP-Botucatu Veterinary Hospital, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Antônio José de Araújo Aguiar. The activities were coordinated by Prof. Dr. André Mariano Batista and totaled 424 hours. This internship provided exposure to the anesthetic routines at USP and UNESP hospitals and the general routine at Clínica Guadalupe. The work aimed to report a case of multimodal general anesthesia for exploratory celiotomy in an equine patient with acute abdomen syndrome. The procedure was performed on a 6-year-old female horse with a history of severe abdominal pain unresponsive to clinical treatment. The acute abdomen syndrome was caused by a fecalith in the descending colon, which was removed during the emergency surgery. Anesthesia was induced with ketamine (2.2 mg/kg) and midazolam (0.1 mg/kg), maintained with isoflurane (2% vol.) in 100% oxygen with mechanical ventilation, and a continuous infusion of lidocaine at 3 mg/kg/h. Due to severe hypotension recorded by the multiparameter monitor, dobutamine, norepinephrine, and hypertonic solution were used to correct this alteration, and fluid therapy with Ringer Lactate and NaCl 0.9% was combined to maintain blood volume. Blood gas analisys monitoring was crucial for assessing the patient's ventilatory function and the need for calcium, potassium, and sodium bicarbonate replacement. With the stabilization maneuvers performed, the patient remained stable throughout the procedure. Post-surgery, the animal experienced a prolonged and poor-quality anesthetic recovery, likely due to systemic changes related to the clinical condition. Thus, equine anesthesia in cases of colic is challenging and requires the anesthetist to have extensive knowledge and practice in physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology to achieve satisfactory results.Item Anestesia local com bupivacaína para bloqueio do plano transverso abdominal (Tap Block) em cadela submetida à cirurgia de ovariohisterectomia – relato de caso(2019-07-12) Silveira, Iana Christi Farias; Sá, Fabrício Bezerra de; Rocha, Rômulo Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1840298267290754; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5063398024530288; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9602900987944784Item Anestesia para manejo clínico em Panthera leo (leão): relato de caso(2020-12-22) Burity, Raquel de Albuquerque Brasil; Araújo, Carolina Akiko Sato Cabral de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5868230858347175; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3355239872340268The Compulsory Supervised Internship comprises a moment of paramount importance for the learning process of students of veterinary medicine, because it is a parallel made between theory and practice, important for the complete formation as a professional to be inserted in the business market. This report aimed to describe the activities in the area of Veterinary Anesthesiology, following the routine of the steering anesthesiologist Andréia Laís Teodoro da Cunha, in her differents workplaces, which were Animalis, Pet's House and UNIMEVE veterinary clinics, as well as the Dois Irmãos State Park, all located in the city of Recife - PE, under the supervision of the same veterinarian. The routine of the anesthesiology department of the veterinary hospital Pet Dream, Recife-PE, was also monitored, under the guidance of veterinarian José Fabson Pinheiro dos Santos. Stands out the case report of anesthesia for clinical management in Lion (Panthera leo), accompanied at the State Park of Dois Irmãos, in the African Lion, male, 20 years old, resident of the place. The activities were developed during the period from September 4th to November 20th, 2020, during a total of 420 hours of internship, divided into 270 hours accompanying the veterinarian Andréia Laís in her routine and 150 hours in the veterinary hospital Pet Dream. The data covered in this report were obtained through anesthetic records, anamnesis, anesthetic monitoring and physical examination. In this report, we chose to point the case report of anesthesia for clinical management in lion, being a case of dissociative anesthesia followed by physical restraint, emphasizing the importance of anesthesia for proper clinical management in wild animals, because without it, suggestive clinical and diagnostic examination as well as complementary examinations, would be impossible. Based on the above, it can be concluded that ESO was extremely relevant to improve anesthetic techniques, as well as to understand the routine of a veterinary anesthetist, knowing its job and putting into practice the knowledge acquired during the veterinary medicine course.
