Item Alfabetização e letramento em turmas multisseriadas: um estudo sobre as práticas pedagógicas no município de Calumbi - PE(2019) Silva, Aiane Erica da; Berto, Jane Cristina Beltramini; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5158679260858327This work aimed to understand the teaching practice in the multi-series classes, in order to identify what strategies teachers develop to deal with the learning levels of each student. Specifically, it aims to: a) understand the theoretical-methodological referrals of the teacher; b) to improve our understanding of Field Schools and to reconstruct our imaginary about the education given there; c) characterize the pedagogical actions during the literacy phase and for this, we seek to base the theoretical postulates of Mendonça (2007), Hage (2006), Magda Soares (2004), among others. In order to do so, we carried out a case study, based on the qualitative research, with an ethnographic nature, with emphasis on the pedagogical practices carried out by two teachers of mutisseriado teaching, inSchool of the Field, specifically in the municipality of Calumbi-PE. Methodological procedure, we used reports of classroom observations and an interview, in addition to collecting both bibliographic and observational data during the pedagogical practices carried out. The results pointed out that it is possible to reach the quality of education in the multi-series classes, through educational practices that use different methodologies, and that provide both the literacy development and the literacy of each subject, in order to recognize reading and writing as practices social, and which is perceived as part of society and can contribute to social transformation.Item Análise da estrutura tópica nas aulas de produção textual: uma proposta metodológica de ensino(2020-09-17) Araújo, Adan Smith Soares de; Berto, Jane Cristina Beltramini; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5158679260858327; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1706053015227027Item Uma análise dos fenômenos da fala em conversas no WhatsApp(2019) Gois, Aline Raquel Sena de; Ranieri, Thaís Ludmila da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9800015399149501In this work, we propose to analyze the connection between the speech and the writing in WhatsApp messages, intending to identify speech phenomena in light of the various linguistic theories emerged from Textual Linguistics, in manifestations arisen from everyday interactions in conversations in the environment of the WhatsApp application. In this way, our observations started from the amplified conception about what is a text, under the current ways in which we relate to writing, made possible by the internet through technological resources. The choice of our research locus is justified by its approximation to characteristics of the oral genre, spontaneous conversation arisen from the use of its available tools, giving us a potential corpus for our analyses. In this way, we intend to analyze, with an amplified look to the limit of text, the characteristics of both uses of the language, from which the current theories pull away the dichotomous perspective, making us recognize spoken text construction activities. Therefore, we will be attentive to the recurrences of which the participants rely on to build meanings in the speech events in WhatsApp conversations. For this purpose, we have the technical support of Koch (2006; 2009, 2013), Marcuschi (2007), Cavalcante e Custódio Filho (2010), Fonseca (2011), Cavalcante (2013), Fonte e Caiado (2014), Barbosa (2016), Pereira Lima Carvalho e Acioli (2017) and Oliveira (2018). The corpus of our work was gathered from WhatsApp conversations’ screenshots, from three distinct group chats which are a working-environment group chat which conversations are intended to be more limited to business-related matters; a group chat of friends with unconstrained chat themes, and a group chat with a private contact. In the period of gathering information, we dedicated to observe the interactions between speakers, verifying that the speech and the writing maintain a relation in the crisscross of its characteristics, such as the formality and informality levels of the interactions, which influence these interactions’ dynamics, the writing, the topical progression, the answer time, among other aspects that enabled us to identify speech marks in WhatsApp conversations, as we will prove in the course of our work.Item Uma análise dos níveis de ocorrência da transferência linguística na fala de estudantes de espanhol do Programa Ganhe o Mundo no interior de Pernambuco(2018) Sousa, Antonio Leandro de Melo; Dugnani, Bruna Lopes Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6132618542893464This paper proposes to collect cases of the process of linguistic transfer and to verify in what levels they occur when students are evaluated through oral test during the learning of an additional language, the Spanish language. For theoretical basis, the assumptions of authors such as Bechara (2009), Brandão (2003), Brown (2000), González (1994), Ortíz Alvarez (2002) and Silva (2004).Methodologically, an oral test was recorded. The research environment, the Spanish course of the Program Win the World of a school in the interior of Pernambuco, was chosen considering that in this course the objective is to prepare students for an exchange, which makes the need to develop something crucial. The oral test was applied to 6 different students, each test with an average duration of 10 minutes, all carried out on the same day. After the recording, a transcription of the audios was carried out in an ethnographic proposal to observe the processes of transference in the corpus of inadequacies found in the students' speeches. The main criterion for selection of this corpus was the spontaneity of speech discarding speech data considered to be non-spontaneous; finally, a phonetic transcription was performed, only from the first part of the oral test and only from the students' answers, in order to obtain data at phonetic-phonological level. From this analysis, transference occurred at morphosyntactic, lexical-semantic andphonetic-phonological level. All students presented transfer cases in their speech. There was a transferof tenses with similar structure, similar words and sounds that are similar in Portuguese and Spanish.Item Análise sobre as concepções de letramento literário na Base Nacional Comum Curricular(2019) Gondim, Thaís Tomé; Silva, Noadia Iris da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3145353361385921; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6632560254241093This work deals with the conceptions of literature and literary literacy officials curricula proposals for the final years of elementary school. Researchers argue that the teaching of literature has been characterized by little attention to the literary text itself and attachment to historical issues. The literary object does not seem to occupy the same place it already was. According to Cosson (2016), literature suffered a kind of erasure at school. In this context, this research aimed to investigate the conceptions of literature and literary literacy contained in the following official documents addressed to the final years of elementary school: National Curriculum Parameters (BRASIL, 1997) and the Common National Curricular Base (BRASIL,2018). The objective was also to know the perceptions of 10 teachers of Portuguese Language, from the final years of elementary school, in the city of São José do Belmonte / PE, about the contents indicated in the Base. The methodology used addresses both qualitative and quantitative criteria. Our data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The results suggest that the participants have a good knowledge of the BNCC, which makes us assume that such curriculum proposal will have good acceptance among the teachers upon its implementation in the mentioned municipal network from 2020.Item Análise sobre world englishes e heterogeneidade linguística no livro didático circles 3(2019) Sousa, Gabriel Silva e; Dugnani, Bruna Lopes Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6132618542893464; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9288114223375223The main objectives of this research are to analyze and to reflect on the presence of World Englishes and linguistic heterogeneity in the textbook Circles 3, evaluated and approved by the Programa Nacional do livro Didático - PNLD (2016) and used at schools in the city of Salgueiro – Pernambuco state, Brazil. We also analyze its proximity and distance to the concepts found in the Orientações Curriculares Nacionais para o Ensino médio - OCEM and the theoretical framework adopted in the textbook. In order to do that, the works of Kachru (1985), Rajagopalan (2005) and Leffa (2016) served as the bases for our analysis, for they discuss the teaching and role of the English language in the world. We also consider the legal bases for secondary education, Brazil (2006), which deal with the importance of language teaching concerned with raising awareness about the manifestations of linguistic heterogeneity as an important aspect of citizenship education, since the document was still valid at the moment of the evaluation and approval of the textbook analyzed in this study. The corpus of this work resulted from the experience in a school as part of our English teaching practicum, when the textbook itself was the center of our practices. As for the methodology, we used the description and analysis of the activities, focusing on the listening skills, for the audio files chosen corroborates with the theories that worked as guiding lines of the textbook. As results, we found the materialization of the World Englishes and aspects related to linguistic heterogeneity, however these manifestations occur only in three units and not in a reflexive way, in the other five they are present, but there is no practical reflection on the English language and its variations. We found that there is a distance between the proposal to focus on the Englishes of the world as a discussion and its materialization in the textbook exercises. In the process of description and analysis, through the reality of the English language in a global and heterogeneous context, we emphasize the importance of the dialogue between textbook and citizenship education geared to a critical and reflexive awareness of the various contextual, cultural and geographical facets of language. The Merchant of Venice” approaches concepts and contemplates strategies that pass through the limits of fiction, in the proportion that goes far of the makebelieve, showing situations and conflicts that can do a part of the real life, reffering to a society that gives privileges to the major people, since that in all the play, the jew is underprivileged, by the simple fact of being a jew. This work aims to show clearly the view of each personage has about justice and what this relation brings to the life of each one, as personage of the play. Considering the complexity of all these questions, mainly in the attempt to adjust them to a concept of justice, we appropriate about this narrative moment to bring the true about anti-Semitism, social position, power, prejudice presented by the autor. In this perspective we developed an explain search, trying to ansewer the question: Will justice be done for both parts or just one of the parts, for example, the part more discredited was demaged? In this way we opted for analyse this play into the ambit of the law and philosophy, following the theoretical concepts of authors, like: John Rawls, Platão, Sócrates, Kant, Dworkin, among others. Therefore, in front of the done analyse, we concluded that the initial hipothesis did not concretize, namely, there was justice to both parts, even the protagonist losing all your goods, because the justice was applied according yo to the laws of Veneza.Item Uma busca pela identidade em à Sombra do Oká de Olinda Beja(2019) Oliveira, Irlani Ramos de; Pereira, Kleyton Ricardo Wanderley; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8902091363038170; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6440842116114211In this work, we seek to analyze the work À sombra do Okáof the writer Olinda Beja, in the interest of deepening the studies in the presence of her I-lyrical, directed towards her native land and, consequently, her identity construction through her poems. We will start from the history of colonialism and what happened after this moment, postcolonialism, in the life and literature of African countries, always supporting us in the theory ofThomas Bonnici (2009), which gives us a broad perspective on postcolonialism and its constructions over time, as well as the proposals ofInocência Mata (2010), where the author approaches in her book "Insular Polyphonies" themes related to the voice of the culture and literature of São Tomé and Príncipe. We will make a brief presentation of the "Insular Culture", which guides our central theme, using as theoretical basis the writerAmarino Oliveira de Queiroz (2007), where in her thesis sought to present qualitative and quantitative elements related to the sister islands and also to the writerOlinda Beja, And finally, we appreciate the work cited, where we seek to list elements that show us the construction of this St. Francis identity, always quoting fragmented pieces of the work to relate to our perceptions.Item “Carlinda me falou que tu não falou a sua mãe a respeito disto”: a variação teu/seu no paradigma de segunda pessoa do singular em cartas de amor interioranas do século XX(2021-02-24) Silva, Rodrigo Selmo da; Ataíde, Cleber Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4301066659702331; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7786094799532332The present study aims to analyze the variation of second-person possessive in Brazilian Portuguese teu/tua/seu/sua and to investigate whether the agreement with the personal pronouns tu and você in the position of subject is established. Our corpus consisted of 153 personal letters from the 20th century, in the subgenre love letter, which are part of the computerized text bank of the Pernambuco Linguistic Documentation Laboratory (LEDOC). Data analysis focused on both linguistic and socio-pragmatic aspects of that variation, based on the theoretical assumptions of Historical Sociolinguistics (CONDE SILVESTRE, 2007) and Variationist Sociolinguistics (LABOV, 1972). The discussion of our findings also relied on assumptions of Discursive Tradition (KABATEK, 2006) as well as of theories that deal with the study of the relationships established in the interaction between the correspondents, such as, for example, the theory of Power and solidarity (BROWN AND GILMAN, 1960) and Theory of Politeness (Brown and Levinson, 1987). In the analysis, only the extralinguistic variable gender was controlled. Regarding the linguistic variables, the following categories were selected: the position of subject, the classification of letters, filled and unfilled subject, the semantics of the possessed element, the position of the possessive in relation to the noun and the compositional structure of the letter. As a result, in the 153 letters from Pernambuco, we identified 319 occurrences of the analyzed phenomenon, which are distributed in 202 occurrences of seu and 117 of teu. It was also verified that there is agreement between the forms tu-teu, você-seu and that, from the 90s, the forms você-seu are almost unanimous in the corpus. From the control of the filled and unfilled category of subject we identified that already in the 90's, the teu still shows resistance when você are in the unfilled category of subject. We also observed that women tend to preserve the canonical forms tu-teu. Regarding the compositional structure of the letter, we identified that the possessive of seu next to the Farewell Section and the P.S. formed a Discursive Tradition. With regard to the control of the semantics of the term owned, this variable was not relevant in the variation of the possessives. Finally, the control of the variable position of the possessive in relation to the term possessed showed that, in Brazilian Portuguese, the possessives of the second person occupy the pre-nominal position.Item Carnavalização e matutismo na poesia de Jessier Quirino(2019) Silva, Luana Mayara da; Almeida, Maria do Socorro Pereira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3185435491287172; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4817478121971125This work searchs to study the work of Jessier Quirino, in order to observe how the perspective of carnivalization is revealed, while also searching for investigate how is formed the image of Matuto and the Sertanejo daily in the work of the author. The Matuto has always been seen like an ignorant, unlettered and negative characteristics being. Jessier make us to see another way to look this individual like someone smart, singular wisdom, as well as also shows, the Nordeste, always rising our flag to every place he goes. For many He created a new way to write. It treats about a bibliografic research, and to reach the objective we divided it in three parts. In the first, we tried to understand better the carnivalization phenomenon, to be able to enter in the work of the poet. After we discourse briefly about the context of the popular poetry, and the difference between this and the erudite literature. Finally we analyse some poems of Jessier, with the purpose we described above. Throughtout the study was possible notice that inside of works of the poet, he use a sliced, sarcastic language, and sometimes he subverts the seriousness of the subjects addressed. This way we see how is important to study the Jessier poetry, since the habits, behaviors and the physical and social nature of the Matuto.Item Cartas pessoais de amor: gênero do discurso e estilo do enunciador do Sertão do Pajeú na década de 1950(2019) Souza, Rafaela dos Santos; Dugnani, Bruna Lopes Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6132618542893464; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2926392791984793This work aims at the understanding of both the speech genre personal love letter from Sertão [Backlands] of Pernambuco State - Brazil, which were written in the 1950s, and its enunciator’s style. This way, it contributes to the dissemination of this linguistic-cultural heritage. The reserach corpus is composed by 22 personal love letters written in the late 1950s by two senders (enunciators). They lived in the countryside of Sertão do Pajéu [Backlands of Pajéu] of Pernambuco State, Brazil. These letters were made available through the digital platform of Laboratório de Edição e Documentação de Pernambuco (Ledoc) [the Publishing and Documentation Laboratory of Pernambuco]. They were scanned and transcribed by the members of the research project “Banco Informatizado de Textos (BIT): a constituição de um corpus de manuscritos e impressos pernambucanos do século XVIII, XIX e XX” [Computerized Text Bank: the constitution of a corpus of Pernambuco manuscripts and printed papers from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries”]. The corpus selection was due to its relevance as an object of remarkable linguistic-cultural value. In order to achieve the objective of this research coherently, we adopted theoretically and methodologically the Bakhtinian perspective and, more specifically, the concepts of “speech genre” and “style” and the procedures for approaching the research corpus of description, analysis and interpretation. The results were obtained through aspects found as recurrent in the speech genre, such as the rhythm, metaphors, the use of pronouns thou and you, the use of diminutive forms and the vocatives. These aspects materialized proximity, spontaneity and intimacy, as well as similarities to a poetic discourse. The reflections on the enunciator’s writing indicated relevant characteristics of the period - the 1950s, enabling discussions about the different angles through which the style can be seen. Furthermore, the recurrences of a poetic production, the resemblance to the postcards of that time and to concrete poetry has lead the research not only to strictly consider linguistic features for analysis, but to also take into account the broader context that involved the letters and its enunciator’s style. This allowed us to comprehend the enunciator’s style as constituted in relation to the world and to the other.Item A causa revelada – uma análise do conto A causa secreta em relação à crueldade na condição humana(2020-10-29) Souza, Luanna Raquel de Lima; Apolinário, José Antônio Feitosa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1121641464509822; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8960383938317969This present work consists of an analysis of the short story A Causa Secreta, by the Brazilian author Machado de Assis; characterized as a literary analytic with a philosophical foundation - a literary-philosophical work -, with the objective of analyzing the short story, in order to solve the following problem: is it possible to reflect on how cruelty can manifest itself in the human condition from reading and analyzing the story? With the intention of answering this question, we brought to the discussion the theses addressed in the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche, in the works Genealogia da Moral (dissertations 01 and 02) e Aurora, and Clément Rosset, in their works O Princípio de Crueldade and Lógica do Pior, which foster reflections about moral, guilt, bad conscience, tragic and real. These ideas allowed us to think about cruelty within the story, constituting the psychological drawings of the characters analyzed and their possibility of their expression in the human condition, basing life. Which led us to the conclusion that cruelty can manifest itself in different ways in the human conditions of each being, as well as in their actions and relationships, reflecting the philosophical concepts - bad conscience, guilt, moral, real and tragic - that permeate it.Item Um comparativo entre aulas de língua inglesa: abordagens audiolingual e comunicativa no ensino médio(2018) Leite, Gustavo Saulo Alves; Dugnani, Bruna Lopes Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6132618542893464; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9461088696751451This work aims to demonstrate the disparities and similarities established between theory and practice of classes that happened in the audiolingual and communicative approach. The class based on the audiolingual theory was taught in the class “A” of the 1st year of high school, while the class based on the communicative theory was taught in the class “C” of the 1st year of high school, the both happened in a public school of Paraíba. To build this search we resort to Leffa (1988), Brown (2001), Uphoff (2008), Holden (2009), Larsen-Freeman e Anderson (2011), Oliveira (2014), Cunha (2016), Rodrigues (2016). Beyond we made some reflections that comes from the OCEM (The national curriculum guidelines to the secondary school), in order to present relevant considerations to the teaching foreign language. The lessons plans madein both of the approaches of this search serve as a guide to build of our methodology. Stillevaluations were done with some students of two classes, proposing that they exhibit considerations about the classes.Despite a free report, to give a way to the student, we formulated a motivating question: “Expose your opinions about the class. How it was your participation? If the class was attractive? What was the moment that you liked much? The class was motivating?” In our corpus that we got by the active opinion of the students, we can note that the relations between theory and practice of both approaches revealed aspects that made them, so different in theory, similar at the moment of the students evaluation.Item O comportamento da palatalização das fricativas alveolares [s] e [z] em coda silábica medial no português brasileiro falado na comunidade de Santa Cruz da Baixa Verde(2020-10-13) Rodrigues, Pedro Henrique da Silva; Santos, Renata Lívia de Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7009377945244623This work analyzes the behavior of the palatalization of alveolar fricatives [s] and [z] in medial syllabic coda in brazilian portuguese spoken in the community of Santa Cruz da Baixa Verde - PE, under the theoretical-methodological panoramas of the Theory of Labovian Variation. The alternative forms analyzed in relation to the behavior of palatalization of alveolar fricatives include: unvoiced alveolar fricative [s], voiced alveolar fricative [z], unvoiced alveopalatal fricative [ʃ] and voiced alveopalatal fricative [ʒ]. This research has as main objective to describe the structural and social factors that condition the variation under study and is revealed important because until now there has been no research on the linguistic phenomenon in question in that speech community. The linguistic factors analyzed were the preceding context and the following context. The corpus used was extracted from interviews with informants from the city studied and was divided according to the groups of extralinguistic factors: age, sex and level of education. Linguistic variables that can influence the variation are also analyzed. The results showed that among the [s] and [ʃ] variants, the last one was more performed, mainly in front of [t], as it proved to be a factor favoring the palatalization phenomenon in the speech community. Between [z] and [ʒ], the first presented the most cases, that is, the non-palatalized variant predominatedItem Considerações sobre o processo de avaliação externa da leitura no Estado de Pernambuco(2018) Nascimento, Mariana do Carmo; Silva, Noadia Iris da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3145353361385921; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1779484955947984This study results from a bibliographical research and aims to reflect on public educational policies and the impacts produced by external evaluations in teaching practice, focusing on large -scale assessments in basic education -SAEB and the State Assessment System of Pernambuco -SAEPE, pointing out the implications of these in the everyday of the classroom tothe point of modifying teachers 'practices and their consequences in the students' learning process. However, it is necessary to address the training of teachers and the importance of professional qualification for the application of the evaluation process in order to reach the desired results by the school community. The results of the research suggest that the methodology of these evaluations results in an insignificant procedural and integral development of the student besides generating a climate of teacher accountability for the success or failure of the same, besides a pressure environment so that the student obtains results of excellence in these assessments.Item Construção de identidade da prática docente no Brasil: um olhar por meio da mídia(2021-02-22) Henriques, Tamara Géssica Tavares; Guimarães, Lílian Noemia Torres de Melo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7778975209654541This work aims to investigate the treatment that is given to the teaching practice, especially in news from newspapers, as well as showing the possible identity constructions established by the media to this practice. For that, we used a theoretical basis, initially, in authors of Critical Discourse Analysis, such as Van Dijk (2008); Fairclough (1992); Resende (2012); and other scholars dealing with the theme. Regarding the notion of identity, we rely on authors from Sociology and Linguistics, such as Bauman (2005); Castells (2018); Kleiman (1998); Moita Lopes (1998); Hall (1999), among others. The corpus of the work is delimited in news taken from Jornal da Paraíba (JPB) online, in the period that corresponds from the year 2010 to 2020. Were collected five news that mentioned the teaching practice. Our purpose was to investigate the identity construction of teaching practice in Brazil through the media, whether it occurred positively or negatively, whether teachers had discursive access to this news, and how this access was given. Also, we observed the selection of lexical items that made up the news headline. As for methodological procedures, we employ the following categories: (I) discursive access; (II) analysis of the titles. The first results confirmed the hypothesis that the way the media reports teaching practice contributes to the construction of a negative teaching identity in Brazil.Item A construção multimodal de referentes em memes sobre o discurso da pós-graduação(2019) Nogueira, Bruno Huann da Silva; Ranieri, Thaís Ludmila da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9800015399149501; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4491947961116486Positioning itself in a sociocognitive and multimodal view, the present work aims to investigate how the multimodal construction of meme referents about postgraduate discourse occurs. This study befalls for two reasons, in particular, the first because we believe that the meme genre needs further investigations that seek to understand the complexity of this object, as well as the fact that this genre is a productive space for scientific investigation in the field of language. Thus we discuss in this paper considerations about notions of text, referenciation and multimodality that are based on the discussions of Cavalcante (2013); Cavalcante and Custódio Filho (2010); Koch (2009); Marcuschi (2007 and 2012); Custodio Filho and Hissa (2018); Custódio Filho (2009); Mondada and Dubois (2003); Cavalcante, Filho and Brito (2014); Cortez and Koch (2013); Ranieri (2015); Dionísio (2014); Silva (2018); Vieira and Silvestre (2015); Ramos (2012). Therefore, our approach can be defined as qualitative, since our research seeks to understand, describe and interpret the phenomena linked to referential processes. For this investigation, we had 5 memes that were collected on the Instagram social network between August and October 2019th, in the Mestrado Arrombado page that targets postgraduate publications. Finally, our results show that referents are taken up mainly by Direct Anaphora in the imagery elements that make up memes. Moreover, we also observed that, in most cases, the references "master" and "dissertation" are referenced with a negative value load.Item O corpo literário em fogo nas entranhas, de Pedro Almodóvar: um passeio entre o erotismo e a pornografia(2018) Soares, Michele Lopes; Silva, Jean Paul d'Antony Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3561921480563342; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0111190795993733In this work, we are interested in investigating how eroticism and pornography in a work "Fire in the guts"of Spanish writer and filmmaker, Pedro Almodóvar. Lack of classical and contemporary eroticism, its various nuances, and, how, a pornography we knowtoday. We will also make an analysis of the interdicts and transgressions of the characters of the work in their stories. We can conclude that eroticism is the games involved in it, and realize how imagination and creativity play a key role in the erotic act. We show how eroticism and pornography influence and are influenced by society.Item Crenças de professores em formação sobre o papel da pronúncia nas aulas de inglês(2019) Silva, Andréa Lopes da; Cavalcanti, Larissa de Pinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7660087236639667; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8452905419572061This study aims at investigating the beliefs about the role of pronunciation in the English classes held by undergraduate students doing a degree in Letras at UFRPE – UAST. This study also aims to add contributions to the works on the beliefs that specifically address the role or teaching of English pronunciation. We seek to identify what beliefs these future teachers construct and maintain about the variety of English they speak, and whether it relates to or is under the influence of a standard variety of the language. Therefore, in order to do so, we begin by conceptualizing what beliefs are according to several academic fields (BOTASSINI, 2015; FONTAINE, 1998; GUIMARÃES 2010; LALLANDE, 1976; NESPOR, 1987; ROKEACH, 1968, 1976) until we reach the discussions focusing on the teaching and learning of languages from the perspective of Applied Linguistics (BARCELOS, 2004). Based on the works of Barcelos (2004) and Pajares (1992), we also discuss teachers’ beliefs and how they can influence a teachers’ professional practice. Regarding the teaching of pronunciation, the concepts of intelligibility and comprehensibility were discussed based on the definitions of Nelson and Smith (1985), Derwing, Munro and Wiebe (1998), Derwing and Munro (2015) and Alves (2015). We also briefly review the literature on teachers ' beliefs about the teaching of pronunciation, taking as main basis the work of Shah et al (2017). In order to accomplish the main objectives of this study, we conducted a series of 10 interviews with students at UAST who were doing internships. Two of these interviews were discarded for they diverged from the research proposal, and the remaining eight ones served as data for the analysis and discussion on the beliefs about the teaching of the phonetic-phonological component under study. Results show that trainee teachers believe that pronunciation is an important aspect to teach either directly or indirectly, but they also believe in hegemonic varieties as references.Item “Crônica de uma mulher assassinada”: a relação entre espaço e personagem na obra Crônica da Casa assassinada, de Lúcio Cardoso(2019) Lima, Eduardo Felipe Pereira de; Moura, Valquíria Maria Cavalcante de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1979728174658046; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4013751734808579This study was designed to understand, through the work Crônica da Casa Assassinada, by Lúcio Cardoso, the links present in the narrative construction of the character and space categories in the modern novel, using the setting of the Meneses’ house and characterization by Nina. Thus, the observation of the transformations that took place and constitute the contemporary romanesque scope of the ninth and twentieth centuries, as well as the study of the behavior of the space and character elements and how they interact in the narrative was based. It was possible to identify a representation of the character Nina about the stagnant house in the psychological field of the characters and that occurs mainly in the lexical field of the text, narrated by them. This research has a qualitative and bibliographical character and was based on the studies of Rosenfeld (1969), Hauser (1998), Brayner (1979), Candido (2014), Brandão (2013), Humphrey (1976), Pankow (1988), Bachelard (1993), Brait (1985), among others. Based on the analysis, notes on the modern novel, its aesthetic characteristics and its context of origin, with the appearance of more intimate and psychological works as well as in Lúcio Cardoso, based on the interaction between Nina and the house in the descriptive process of the character-narrator consciousness. The research is divided in three parts, the first one corresponds to the considerations about the emergence of the novel and its configurations. Soon after, the theoretical framework about the narrative categories highlighted was considered. Finally, the elements of Lucio Cardoso's novel were analyzed in order to understand their affinities. Throughout the work it has been verified that modern narrative, in the light of the narrators' consciousness, opens up a range of possibilities in descriptive abstractions that can build clear bridges between categories, both through language and history.
