Item Fisioterapia e reabilitação de um Jack Russell Terrier no pós-cirúrgico de osteossíntese da tuberosidade tibial e colocefalectomia para correção de necrose asséptica da cabeça do fêmur (NACF) - Relato de caso(2024-09-27) Lavôr, Antonio Lucas Leite Tavares de; Moura, Roseana Tereza Diniz de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6842974413081119; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9405599391965509Avulsion Fracture of the Tibial Tuberosity (FATT) is a relatively common condition in dogs, especially affecting young animals and large or giant breeds. It is characterized when a fragment of the tibial tuberosity detaches from the tibia, where the patellar ligament is inserted, due to the force exerted by the tendon as a result of a sudden or traumatic movement. Aseptic Necrosis of the Femoral Head (NACF) also affects young dogs, between 3 and 13 months old, mainly small breeds, such as Toys and Terriers, being defined as a debilitating condition characterized by aseptic, non-inflammatory, avascular and idiopathic condition of the femoral head, due to ischemia that can be triggered by several factors, including traumatic and hereditary. The present work aims to describe the post-surgical physiotherapeutic treatment of a dog, of the Jack Russell Terrier breed, with pain and lameness in the right pelvic limb due to FATT, which aggravated the predisposing NACF, which underwent osteosynthesis surgery and colocephalectomy later. The fracture correction was carried out on January 29, 2024 and physiotherapy began on March 5, 2024, due to complaints about the lack of weight bearing on the affected limb. At the beginning of the physiotherapeutic protocol, persistence of pain and lameness was noted, with NACF being diagnosed on March 22, 2024 and colocephalectomy performed on April 1, 2024, with a subsequent return to rehabilitation on April 9, 2024. The case was followed from the first session after colocephalectomy surgery, during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), at the Marlene Reis Rehabilitation Center, in Recife-PE.Item Reabilitação fisiátrica de um bulldog francês após cirurgia para descompressão de extrusão de disco - Relato de caso(2023-09-19) Lustosa, Marjorie Gueiros; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406Intervertebral disc herniation (IVDH) is a disease of great occurrence in the small animal clinic, its development can be acute and/or progressive, and can affect different areas of the spine, from cervical to sacral. There are three types of disc herniation: Hansen type I, II and III. This paper aims to describe the physiotherapy treatment of a French Bulldog with pelvic limb paralysis due to acute disc extrusion in L3 and L4 (Hansen type I), submitted to decompressive surgery and later physiotherapy. The surgery was performed on June 26, 2023 and physiotherapy began immediately after the animal was released from hospitalization, on June 30, 2023. The entire case was followed up during the Obligatory Supervised Internship, at the Instituto de Reabilitação Animal in Curitiba - PR.
