    The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) enables the student to acquire practical knowledge from experience with tutors and owners of animals that is not only learned in theory; providing the critical sense and the ability to analyze situations encountered throughout the profession rationally. This report presents the activities of the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (HOVET - UFRPE) located in Recife-PE. In the area of Medical and Surgical Clinic of Small Animals and also in the Clinic of Cattle (CBG) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) located in Garanhuns-PE, in the area of Medical and Surgical Clinic of Ruminants and Equines. The first stage followed clinical, surgical, preoperative and postoperative evaluations of the patients, in addition to the surgical procedures; and in the second stage medical, surgical and large animal laboratory. The report describes a case of relapse of left abomasum displacement, which is a recurring problem in dairy farming and causes great loss to the farmer by the sudden drop in milk production, that leads to animal death but with early diagnose and treatment, mainly with surgical correction, the prognosis is very favorable, as seen in the reported case.

    The Veterinary Hospital (HV) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) is formed by several sectors, among which the Large and Small Animal Ambulatory can be cited; Laboratories of Infectious Diseases, Parasitic, Milk and Meat Inspection, General Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging and the Surgical Clinic of Small and Large Animals. The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) was held from August 12 to November 18, 2019 in the Small Surgical Clinic sector. This internship aimed to improve the knowledge in activities directed in the area of Surgical Medical Clinic, specifically in the field of small animal surgery, and to acquire technical knowledge for the completion of the course and obtaining the Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine. The completion of the internship enabled the development of the case report entitled: “Cystotomy and ureterotomy in a yorkshire dog after obstruction by urocystolites and ureteroliths.” In this case, the patient was admitted to the HV presenting continuous dysuria, a central reason to lead the guardian to distrust the animal's health condition. Complementary examinations were performed with the intention of finding causes for the reported condition, and it was possible to conclude the diagnosis by ultrasound examination, with visualization of urocystolites and dilation of renal pelvis and left ureter.

    Relato de caso: mieloma múltiplo em canino – diagnóstico e tratamento

    The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO), includes the first undergraduate degree in Veterinary Medicine (MV) at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, Who semain objective is to provideth estudent with experience and technical improvement in the field of MV. The present course conclusion work, the supervised internship report, carried out in two stages, the first at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (HV-UFMG), located in Belo Horizonte, in the area of oncology, and the second at the Animalis Clinic – Surgery and Veterinary Clinic located in Recife-PE, in the area of general surgery. The ESO occurred from August 19, 2019 to 27 September, 2019 at HV-UFMG, and from 9 October , 2019 to 1 October, 2019 at Animalis Clinic – Surgery and Veterinary Clinic. In both places, the work load corresponds to 08 hours of loss from Monday to Friday, totaling 420 hours. The described activities in the área of oncology include the clinical procedures, surgeries and chemotherapeutic procedures performed, as well as the casuistry of the species, sex, race and accompanied neoplasms. In the general surgery area, the case series of the conditions accompanied, species and races. The selected case, entitled “Canine Multiple Myeloma – Diagnosis and Treatment”, is the diagnostic description and treatment of a male dog, 09 old years, admitted to the HV-UFMG Oncology Service, another advanced veterinary service complaining of lameness, right hind limb swelling, and imaging and biopsy The animal underwent further examinations in order to complete the diagnosis, amputation of the affected limb and the appropriate chemotherapy protocol for multiple myeloma. The report elucidates the importance of performing differential and applicable diagnostic methods, especially in highly undifferentiated neoplasms, in order to promote subsidies for the therapeutic protocol and the best prognoses.

    In the present work, for the course conclusion aims to report the practical activities developed in the period from April 8 to June 28, 2019 in the Veterinary Clinic of Cardinal Pet, regarding the subject of Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) of the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) - Campus Recife. The activities were developed in the areas of Medical Clinic for Small Animals, Surgical Clinic for Small Animals and Veterinary Clinical Pathology, under the supervision of the Veterinary Physician Patrícia Delgado Falcão and guidance from Professor Roseana Diniz. In this Work of Course Conclusion, a description of the structure and operation of the clinic are contemplated, starting with the monitoring of the medical and surgical routine of small animals to the routine of the laboratory attached to the company. Also as an objective, we make a brief description of the clinical care in general and its clinical casuistry in this period, and we report a clinical case of cutaneous horn in plantar and palmar cushions of a feline, on which we make a literature review and discuss the findings and treatment.

    This report was prepared at the end of the Supervised Supervised Internship (ESO) to obtain the partial mark, taking into account the prerequisites of graduation in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. The stage was developed at the UFRPE Veterinary Hospital, Dois Irmãos campus, in the area of Small Animal Surgical Clinic and the cases followed were all surgical resolution. Finally, a case report will be presented on the Penectomy Technique in Canine with Squamous Cell Carnitoma (SCC) followed during the stage, addressing the techniques used during the surgical procedure and the patient's follow-up until clinical discharge

    In the preparation of this report, the objective was to describe the activities carried out at the Equine Diagnostic and Therapy Center - EQUINE CENTER and at the UFMG Veterinary Hospital, in the field of Large Animal Surgical Clinic, during the mandatory supervised internship, in the period from 01/03/2019 to 14/06/19, making a total of 420 hours. During the stage, clinical, surgical and image care was provided for the equine and ruminant animals, and it is possible to experience and learn in the face of various everyday situations that are presented to the professionals of the area in question. In this work, a case report will also be made titled as Pharyngeal Healing Diaphragm (Pharyngeal cicatrix) in a mare, PSI, aged 20 years.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Maria Betânia de Queiroz Rolim and the supervision of Veterinarian Bruce Lins Ferreira da Silva at the Pet Dream Veterinary Hospital 24h - Boa Viagem unit, Recife, Pernambuco, in the areas of Small Medical Clinic animals and Small Animal Surgical Clinic. The ESO occurred from March 12, 2019 to May 23, 2019, totaling the 420 hours required by the Coordination of the Course.This report aims to explain the activities performed during the internship,highlight the importance of the routine in the area for the student that is being inserted in the professional environment and report the importance of fibrotoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of otitis in dogs.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship is a subject in the curriculum of the Veterinary Medicine Bachelor’s course in the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. The practical activities developed in the Veterinary Anesthesiology area corresponded to a total workload of 420 hours, held at two grantors: Veterinary Hospital Pet Dream – Boa Viagem Unit, in Recife, Pernambuco, and Veterinary Hospital FMVZ – UNESP, in Rubião Junior’s district, in Botucatu, São Paulo. Among the anesthesics procedures supervised, stands out the use of transversus abdominis plane block and the erector spinae plane block, performed in a female dog submitted to total unilateral mastectomy. This report has as its goal to describe the activities developed during the internship period, highlighting the graduating student’s need to acquire practical knowledges before entering the professional life, and to outline the importance of using local anesthesics blocks as a veterinary routine for pain treatment in intra and post-operative.
