Item Infestação por moscas hematófagas nos animais do Departamento de Medicina Veterinária da UFRPE(2022-10-07) Silva, Elizabeth Sabrina Barbosa da; Melo, Lúcio Esmeraldo Honório de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8188529271731817; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4215121137336706The objective of this report was to describe the activities of the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) developed from March 9, 2022 to May 24, 2022, under the guidance of Professor Dr. Lúcio Esmeraldo Honório de Melo. The first stage was carried out at the PROPESCADOS Company, between March 09 and April 08, 2022, under the supervision of the Technical Responsible Veterinary Doctor Dr. Ana Magna and the second held at the Large Animal Ambulatory (AGA) of the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, between April 8th and May 24th, 2022, under the supervision of Veterinary Doctor Professor Dr. Huber Rizzo. The total workload was 420 hours, as required by the Mandatory Supervised Internship discipline of the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco. The internship at the company PROPESCADOS allowed for the knowledge and experience in the daily routine of a fish industry, putting into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired in the course subjects that deal with the subject, thus consolidating the importance of the Veterinarian in Inspection. The internship at the AGA allowed the experience and practical application of the knowledge of Medical, Surgical and Reproduction Clinics, with a focus on clinical-surgical procedures, complementary exams, treatments and prevention of various diseases of animals treated, hospitalized and those belonging to UFRPE. Among the practices experienced, attention was drawn to the case of infestation of animals at the Department of Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE by hematophagous flies, with emphasis on a heifer recently transferred from the Department of Zootecnia, arousing the interest in identifying these flies.
