During the residency period compulsory subjects were studied, divided into: common core mandatory for all areas, specific core of the concentration area and common core of the concentration area. At LAVIAN training activities were developed on collection and processing of biological material; diagnostic techniques applied to the diagnosis of viral diseases; interpretation of results; application of biosafety rules and laboratory organization of materials, reagents, samples and assets. Besides the theoretical and practical activities at LAVIAN, activities were developed at the Brazilian National Health System (SUS), in the following areas: Health Surveillance, Epidemiological Surveillance and Environmental Surveillance. The residency program is important for building a more solid professional career, directed to a specialty, and from where many professional and personal teachings are born. The cell culture technique and the different cell lines are extremely important for Biotechnology in human health and in Veterinary Medicine. Its improvement over the years has provided molecular biology and virology with more precise diagnoses and more efficient products.Item Trabalho de conclusão de residência (TCR): relatório descritivo das atividades: Sistema de gestão de qualidade em laboratórios de ensino e pesquisa(2022-02-21) Rodrigues, Davi dos Santos; Maia, Rita de Cássia Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2624582592628384; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4017698071826735The Residency in professional area of Health is a graduate program focused on teaching in service for the categories that integrate the health area. This modality of specialization enables meaningful learning through professional capacitation and interprofessional work, based on the guidelines of the Brazilian National Health System (SUS). This work aims to report the activities and experiences lived in the two years of work in the context of the residency program, and to present a work derived from discussions and knowledge building resulting from the practical experience related to the area of concentration (Viral diseases of domestic animals).Item Relatório de descrição de atividades do programa de residência prevalência da infecção pelo vírus da Cinomose (CDV) em caninos de abrigos da região metropolitana do Recife, PE(2021-02-22) Lima, Willyanne Darline Fernandes de; Pinheiro Junior, José Wilton; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3931532041328673; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0427802281675815This research aimed to evaluate the prevalence of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) infection in canines from shelters in the metropolitan region of Recife, Pernambuco. Two shelters were visited and 45 dogs were sampled by convenience. Ocular secretion swabs were collected for viral antigen testing and the tests were performed at the Laboratory of Animal Virology (LAVIAN). The commercial Alere Cinomose Antigen (Ag) Test Kit® was used. The overall prevalence was 13.33% and the prevalence per shelter was 21.46% in shelter A and 0% in shelter B. Considering the results obtained, we observed the occurrence of CDV infection in canines from one of the shelters in the metropolitan region of Recife. Thus, management measures such as the introduction of quarantine should be implemented in order to reduce the risks of the occurrence of the disease.Item Investigação da susceptibilidade do Macrobrachium rosenbergii ao Vírus da Mionecrose Infecciosa (IMNV) através de infecção experimental(2019-07-12) Silva, Scarlatt Paloma Alves da; Silva, Suzianny Maria Bezerra Cabral da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8569566022920336; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8747995801017930Aquaculture is the fastest growing food production sector in the world. In Brazil, shrimp farming accounts for almost 20% of national aquaculture production. Although this activity began in the 1970s with the cultivation of marine shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei, the cultivation of freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, is growing in the country. Even though recent national data are not yet available, M. rosenbergii already accounts for about 3% of global crustacean production and is increasing in commercial production. This implies the emergence of a series of problems in the production chain, one of the main ones can be highlighted the emergence of diseases, as they are capable of causing great economic losses, as well as directly impacting the environment. Given this problem, the objective of this work is to investigate the susceptibility of shrimp M. rosenbergii to Infectious Myonecrosis Virus (IMNV) through intramuscular inoculation with subsequent determination of infection via nested-PCR and lesions suggestive by histopathology. For the study, 54 shrimps were acquired and divided according to life stage (Group1 = subadults and Group 2 = adults) and subsequently infected with IMNV intramuscularly. Within each group, a portion of animals that were not infected with the virus were reserved, received only one injection of saline and was called Negative Control. Exposure to the virus lasted 21 days and was monitored daily for water quality and mortality over time. After 21 days of the experiment, the animals were submitted to confirmatory diagnosis of IMNV infection through nested-PCR and histopathological analysis. All water quality variables analyzed were subjected to statistical analysis, following the assumptions of normality (Shapiro- Wilk) and homogeneity (Bartlett). Variance analysis (ANOVA) and Student's t-test were performed using the RStudio program (version 3.6.1) and except for pH and ammonia, the other water quality variables (nitrite and temperature) did not differ statistically. The nested-PCR data and mortality were submitted to descriptive statistics. All animals inoculated intramuscularly with IMNV, subadults and adults of M. rosenbergii, were positive via nested-PCR, confirming the sensitivity of this species to Infectious Myonecrosis Virus.Item “Circovirose em aves da ordem Psittaciformes: revisão de literatura”(2019-12-06) Lima, Andressa dos Anjos; Silva, Jean Carlos Ramos da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8705354960174177; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5161857549690088The Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (Obligatory Supervised Training) has the concearn of complementing the practical theorical teaching, with the objective of professional guidance and expertise prompts in the target area.
