Item Evolução do preço da gasolina no Brasil(2023-04-27) Fonseca, Mônica Azevedo; Melo, André de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8808755622712441; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1517598095172068The present work seeks to analyze the evolution of the price of gasoline in Brazil, and shows how several factors can change the price at the fuel pumps. The increase in the price of gasoline is one of those responsible for the high inflation in the country in recent times, as the prices of inputs rise and directly reflect on the increase in the price of derivatives and food. This factor compromises the purchasing power of individuals. The methodology used was a bibliographic review, graphic analysis and descriptive statistics. As a result, it is observed that the price of gasoline has been influenced in recente years by the price of a barrel of oil, but it must be noted that there are several factors that contribute to the increase in gasoline prices, and many of them are complex and interconnected. Some of the main factors include changes in the global oil market, the pricing policy of producing countries, supply and demand issues, and government tax and subsidy policies. It should be noted that the pandemic period was also one of the factors that influenced price behavior in recent years. In conclusion, the price of gasoline corresponds to shocks in the short term by economic activity and inflation and in the long term by economic activity and demand for gasoline, indicating a strong cause of price behavior via macroeconomic variables and a smaller measure between demand and supply.
