In addition, at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory, I had the opportunity to participate in several laboratory analyses, including hematological and biochemical tests, urinalysis, parasitological fecal examinations, immunochromatographic tests and dermatological cytology. In addition, I collaborated in the preparation of the respective reports at the end of the analyses, contributing to the interpretation of the results. This report also includes the presentation of an article that addresses platelet activation of platelet-rich plasma obtained and subjected to cryopreservation and lyophilization. The study was carried out at the Andrology Laboratory (ANDROLAB) of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE, and was partially developed in collaboration with the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Clínica Bixo’s.Item Relato de caso: manifestações hematológicas de síndrome paraneoplásica em cadela com neoplasia mamária atendida em um hospital veterinário escola de Recife - PE(2024-10-02) Oliveira, Elydia Bezerra de; Pereira, Márcia de Figueiredo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2176602807865729; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0981394531603264The Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI) of the Veterinary Medicine program at UFRPE is essential for students to explore the professional environment prior to graduation. Required for obtaining a bachelor's degree, the internship fosters the development of theoretical and practical skills acquired throughout the academic training. Chapter I of this report describes the routine carried out in the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory (VCPL) at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of UFRPE, totaling 420 hours. The laboratory is equipped with adequate infrastructure for clinical laboratory analyses of fluids and secretions, aimed at conducting and/or assisting clinicians in the diagnosis and prognosis of patients at the Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE. Thus, the report includes a description of the activities performed in the laboratory, encompassing the work routine, casuistic of examinations, and a specific case study. Chapter II presents a case report entitled “Hematological Manifestations of Paraneoplastic Syndrome in a Dog with Mammary Neoplasia Treated at a Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Recife-PE.” It is noteworthy that the MSI contributed to the training and acquisition of greater experience in the field of veterinary clinical pathology, aiding in the transition to the job market.Item Levantamento sorológico de Leptospira spp. em felinos (Felis catus) a partir de amostras de banco de soro de laboratório de patologia clínica em Recife/PE(2024-07-12) Vasconcelos, Laïs Vieira de; Cavalcanti, Erika Fernanda Torres Samico Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5256493441853885; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4759830598373210The Mandatory Supervised Internship is an essential step towards completing the Veterinary Medicine course. The supervised internship was a very enriching experience, which provided training for the clinical pathology practical experiences, allowing the student to immerse themselves in the professional routine after their major, preparing them for the job market. With technological advances, there is an increase in diagnostic information and, consequently, the importance of the quality of the results obtained. However, for greater reliability of the tests, the period from filling out the request to delivering the sample to the laboratory, called the pre-analytical phase, deserves a lot of attention. The objective was to identify and describe the frequencies of nonconformities found during the pre-analytical phase in blood samples sent for blood count at the Laboratory of Veterinary Clinical Pathology at HOVET-UFRPE, supporting decision-making for the correction and prevention of such problems. During the months of March to May 2022, the collection of samples for blood count sent from the daily routine in the laboratory was carried out. Among the 791 samples, 317 (40.07%) had some pre-analytical error, with most cases referring to the canine species, in agreement with the hospital casuistry. Errors were grouped into three groups involving sample quality, requisition and collection tube. In the first group, the main alteration found was hemolysis, in 37.87% of the samples; followed by lipemia. In the second, we have incomplete completion of the requisitions and illegible handwriting with 34% and 15.5%, respectively, and, to a lesser extent, the absence of identification of the collection tube representing the third group. The results are below those found in the literature due to the logistics of delivery and control by the laboratory, however, they represent almost half of the total received. The computerization of the hospital system and awareness of the improvement in the pre-analytical phase are possible promising resolutions.Item Avaliação do dismorfismo eritrocitário em urinas de cães(2023-02-23) Santos, Carolina Beatriz Ribeiro dos; Guimarães, Janaina Azevedo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8177426224558979; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5975868557060997Item Relatório de Conclusão de Residência – Programa de Residência em Área Profissional da Saúde em Medicina Veterinária - patologia animal(2021-02-26) Vargas, Natália Bernardi; Barros, Mércia Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1935392548217410; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4499185301464893The Residency Program in the Professional Health Area - Veterinary Medicine is a modality of theoretical-practical post-graduation (Lato sensu) with a total mandatory workload of 5,760 hours, distributed in the routine activities of the concentration area chosen by the resident, activities of the Unified Health System (Health Surveillance and Extended Family Health Center) and theoretical activities (mandatory and optional subjects) over 24 consecutive months. The activities described in this report took place from March 2019 to March 2021 and are reported in chapters, covering actions developed in the various fields of practice, such as the Animal Pathology area of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (DMV-UFRPE). The experience in the Unified Health System (SUS) is part of the set of mandatory activities proposed by the Residency Program whose minimum total workload amounts to 960 hours divided into two parts, the first being in Health Surveillance (720 hours) carried out in the period of 07/10/2019 and 09/01/2010 in Sanitary District III in Recife-PE and the second, in theory, at the Family Health Support Center-AB (NASF-AB) (240 hours), however due to the demand for the service due to the fight against the Pandemic caused by Sars-CoV-2, this last part occurred in the period from May 11, 2020 to December 31, 2020 in the Directorate of Primary Care of the Municipality of Camaragibe-PE and exceeded the minimum workload to be fulfilled.
