The paper explores the barriers faced by people with disabilities (PwDs) in Brazil regarding access to education, the job market, and income, with a focus on the impact of ableism. Defined as a system of beliefs that views disability as an inferior condition, ableism directly affects the formulation and implementation of public policies, resulting in discriminatory practices that perpetuate social exclusion. The research highlights that, despite the existence of laws such as the Brazilian Inclusion Law (LBI), PwDs continue to face significant challenges in completing basic education. Recent data show that illiteracy and dropout rates among PwDs are significantly higher compared to the non-disabled population. Furthermore, while inclusive education policies have evolved numerically, they fail to provide adequate support within regular schools, often exposing students with disabilities to prejudiced environments without the necessary resources for their full development. The research criticizes public policies for their often immediate and ableist approach, which seeks short-term solutions rather than structural changes. It also addresses the social and economic implications of this exclusion, particularly the precariousness of the job market for PwDs, where many find themselves in informal and poorly paid jobs. Finally, the study suggests that overcoming these barriers requires both a cultural transformation that challenges ableism and the creation of truly inclusive public policies, capable of offering equal opportunities and ensuring the full exercise of the rights of all PwDs.

(2024-07-25) Silva, José Jonas da; Firme, Ruth do Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7234636790850019; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4208955531756095
The approach to Socioscientific Issues (CSQ) in science teaching enables students to discuss social, environmental and economic issues, of a controversial nature and related to science, in the school context. This approach enables the contextualization of school content from the perspective of citizen science. Therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze the contributions and limitations of a didactic material developed for the implementation of the approach of Socioscientific Issues in the teaching of Chemistry from the perspective of Chemistry teachers in Basic Education. Five methodological stages were developed: literature review (stage 1); preparation of didactic material for the implementation of the approach to Socioscientific Issues in the teaching of Chemistry (stage 2); preparation and application of the questionnaire for the evaluation of the didactic material prepared (stage 3); teacher evaluation (stage 4); organization, systematization and analysis of data (step 5). A qualitative approach to the data was adopted (Minayo, 2004). Four basic education chemistry teachers participated in the research. The teachers identified contributions and limitations of the didactic material entitled: "A proposal for the approach of the socio-scientific question The dilemma of automobiles: fuel versus battery from the mock jury as a didactic strategy", such as: allowing a connection between the QSC and Science; having the Socio-Scientific Question as the central focus of the proposal and the QSC being approached as a real-world context and allowing discussion on social dimensions of science (contributions); not ensuring the participation of all students in higher-order practices (argumentation, reasoning and decision-making); the level of previous knowledge of the students about the QSC and stage 5 as the only moment for the discussion of scientific content in the Practices of confrontation of scientific content with the Socioscientific Question (limitations).

The approval of the Standards for Computing in Basic Education - Complement to the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) in 2023 was a milestone for the country, but at the same time, the need to implement computing education in schools brings many challenges for teachers. One of them is the need to appropriate knowledge established in the axes of Computing for the school curriculum (Computational Thinking, Digital World, and Digital Culture) and include the skills and competences in their classes, in an interdisciplinary way. In this context, this work aims to contribute to the development of artifacts to support the implementation of computing education in basic education, as well as to offer support to teachers during this challenging process. Thus, the HackEduComp was held, an educational marathon that brought together teachers from different disciplines with a common challenge: to plan interdisciplinary classes with Computational Thinking. The results indicate that the classes planned in a collaborative way have the potential to promote and support the implementation of Computational Thinking in Basic Education, providing learners with meaningful, contextualized learning and applying techniques from Computer Science.

Faced with the deep crisis experienced by Brazilian science, fostering interest in the scientific universe in educational contexts seems increasingly urgent. In this article we will present a reflection on the gender research project and significant learning, from the proposal of science fairs in school contexts and the perception of scientific literacy as a way for the emancipation of the subjects, a possibility to make individuals independent in the search for solutions to problematizations of individual and social interest. We answered the following question "how to promote meaningful learning through the gender research project in basic education taking into account the students' previous knowledge and their citizen formation", through the methodological analysis of questionnaires applied with 10 teachers and 10 students who participated in scientific events in their school environments, based on the bibliographic review of authors such as BEHRENS (2000), MORAES (2002 and 2004), TFOUNI (2002). As a result, we realized that the practice of research in everyday school and participation in science fairs encourage students to be a producer of knowledge, making the environment more dynamic and attractive. Likewise, students, when starting a project construction process, use scientific research, establish dynamic relationships between areas of knowledge, ask questions and seek solutions to social, cultural, economic and environmental problems of a local, national and / or global and produce genres of the most diverse.
