This workload is distributed between theoretical and practical activities in the area of concentration / performance and public health. Due to the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus 2 severe acute respiratory syndrome virus (SARSCOV-2 / COVID-19), the veterinary hospital was closed nine approximately nine months. The area of activity / concentration of the aforementioned work was in Small Animal Surgical Clinic, and the activities were developed at HOVETat UFRPE in Recife, while activities in the public health area were developed in the municipality of Camaragibe. In order to complete this postgraduate course, it is necessaryto prepare a residency conclusion work (TCR) that is presented in an expository manner for the evaluation of a board. The objective of the TCR was to describe the activities developed, both in the area of surgical clinic and in the area of public health, in addition to reporting a case experienced during the residency period. The case was a 70-day-old Pitbull canine, attended at HOVET/UFRPE, presenting a symptomatic picture of regurgitation, diagnosed with esophageal dilatation cranial to the base of the heart, caused by an obstruction, characterizing PAAD. The surgical treatment instituted was ligation and section of the arch, as well as debridement of the surrounding fibrous tissue, to undothe constriction. We conclude that the completion of the postgraduate program in the residency program in the Professional Health Area in Veterinary Medicine, presented in the form of lato sensu teaching, in- service training, provides the veterinarian with training, experience and theoretical confidence and, mainly, practice in the area concentration in which the resident intends to act in his career.Item Retalho pediculado de omento maior no tratamento adjuvante da união óssea retardada em rádio e ulna de cão: relato de caso(2024-02-20) Souza, Wandson João da Silva e; Marques, Neuza de Barros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1315648549938604; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4308631815833605The Residency Program in the Professional Area of Health in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco is characterized as a lato sensu postgraduate course that prepares and trains professionals for the job market. This work is divided into two parts, where Chapter 1 describes the activities carried out during the ESO at a veterinary products distributor, Intersul Veterinary Products Distributor, which currently represents the MSD Animal Health line in the field of veterinary technical promotion, under the supervision of veterinarian João Alberto Rolemberg Abreu, during the period from April 1 to June 14, 2024, totaling 420 hours of internship, under the guidance of Professor Andréa Paiva Botelho Lapenda. During the internship period, the student performed the role of technical promoter for the MSD line, handling activities related to this function. Simultaneously, a study was conducted on the perceptions and conduct profile of veterinary professionals regarding immunization with multiple canine vaccines in the Recife Administrative Political Region, which includes the neighborhoods of Boa Viagem, Brasília Teimosa, Imbiribeira, Ipsep, Pina, Ibura, Jordão, and Cohab, in the city of Recife. A questionnaire was administered to veterinarians on the subject, and their responses were evaluated according to the literature, making this study the focus of Chapter 2 of this Final Course Project. It can be concluded that the promoter working in this pet veterinary market segment plays a crucial role in the dissemination and technical support to veterinarians. Furthermore, regarding the topic of vaccination protocols, this work encompasses challenging perceptions in relation to the recommendations of vaccination guidelines with the conduct of veterinarians who often reproduce a general and less specific protocol according to the animal's lifestyle, performing an analysis of the current vaccination protocols and the need for continuous education and professional improvement.Item Análise dos fatores envolvidos na seleção e compra de cães na região do Nordeste(2024-02-27) Palmeira, Thais Silva; Souza, Lilian Francisco Arantes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6015344715032401; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7160016807072874From working animals to everyday companions, canines have undergone several genetic manipulations that have resulted in the creation of new breeds of dogs that we know today. Some of these modifications caused genetic mutations, which triggered physiological changes, which resulted in a series of diseases that continue to this day. The objective of this work was to identify the motivations involved in the selection of the breed and the knowledge of owners in relation to genetic diseases associated with dogs in the Northeast region. The research was approved by CAPI (protocol 5621) and CEP/UNOESTE (protocol on Plataforma Brasil number 16596719.2.00005515). It is carried out through a semi-structured questionnaire, prepared with questions associated with the dog owner's profile, identification of the breeds and the criteria used by the owners, knowledge about genetic problems and the identification of external factors for the acquisition of these animals. The questionnaire was applied through the online platform Google forms, through groups of dog breeds present on social networks in the Northeast region. The information was subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, percentage and absolute frequency. It was observed that 80% of the respondents were women, aged 31 to 41, with higher education and from an upper class. A great diversity of breeds was observed, with a predominance of Toy and non-sports groups of small and medium size, the majority with pedigree. The main motivation for purchasing a purebred dog was companionship and the purchase occurred voluntarily. With 84.62% of owners having prior knowledge about genetic diseases associated with breeds and 87.91% seeking to acquire dogs from kennels with good provenance. It was possible to conclude that owners of purebred dogs living in the Northeast region mainly seek company, being aware of the genetic etiology, origin and provenance of the puppy.Item Síndrome uveodermatológica em Spitz alemão: relato de caso(2024) Garcia, Thayná Isabella Silva; Bartolomeu, Cláudio Coutinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7619056086707716; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0330779386400022The aim of this work is to describe the activities carried out during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), the final part of the curriculum of the Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco - UFRPE.
