Item Gerenciamento de resíduos de equipamentos eletroeletrônicos de Recife, Pernambuco: proposição de melhorias visando à sustentabilidade(2024-09-30) Moraes, Estela Carneiro; Costa Filho, Francisco das Chagas da; Cravo, Janielly Mantovani; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2930296374645794; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5796569565249170Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), also known as e-waste, refers to waste originating from equipment that relies on electric current or electromagnetic fields for operation. The increasing generation of this waste, and the risk of environmental contamination posed by its constituent materials, represent current challenges that require the attention of government, institutions and the general population. For this reason, with the aim of providing more information about WEEE management in the city of Recife-PE, this research carried out an assessment of the current context of waste management in the city, in order to identify possible improvements, analyzing the types of waste collected, the functioning of companies, and potential sustainable destinations. In this context, six main companies responsible for managing this waste in the municipality were identified, offering collection services and voluntary drop-off points throughout Recife in partnership with other entities. The improvement proposals include strengthening reverse logistics by increasing collection points in strategic locations and encouraging technological innovation, in addition to implementing environmental education programs in both schools and communities.Furthermore, the creation of a municipal portal on WEEE and the development of public-private partnerships are essential for improving the management of this waste. Despite some initiatives, Recife still lags behind other cities, such as São Paulo-SP and Fernandes Pinheiro-PR, in terms of the legal framework and WEEE management practices, highlighting the need for greater public involvement and transparency in data dissemination. After the study, it was possible to affirm that it is necessary to expand investments in WEEE management, increase public-private partnerships, and promote public awareness throughenvironmental education.Item Ações e medidas alcançadas na implementação das diretrizes do Plano Municipal de Arborização de Recife, Pernambuco(2024-03-07) Tavares, Tiago Teixeira Guimarães; Fernandes, Ana Paula Donicht; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7392835869663724Urban afforestation provides multiple benefits, including improvements in climate, air quality, and the physical and mental health of residents, as well as enhancing the beauty of the environment and reducing sound and visual pollution. Careful planning, considering suitable species and preventing planting problems, is essential to maximize these benefits. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the guidelines of the Urban Afforestation Plan of the city of Recife, Pernambuco. The research is qualitative, involving the collection of documentary data from articles, books, theses, dissertations, municipal legislation, and electronic documents for bibliographic review. Additionally, documents acquired from the Recife Environmental Secretariat were analyzed. Three classifications of actions and measures for the implementation of the Afforestation Plan were defined: planting practice measures, information integration, and educational measures. The results indicated that approximately 90% of the afforestation plan guidelines were implemented, demonstrating the potential for development in the city's afforestation plan. The planting measures category achieved a 50% compliance rate with guidelines related to tree planting in public or private areas, followed by 35% for information integration and 15% for educational measures. Thus, practical planting measures prevail in the afforestation plan, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts for the improvement of urban afforestation in Recife. Therefore, it is recommended to create specific documents, strengthen integration among municipal agencies, and provide financial incentives for afforestation. These coordinated measures can make the city more sustainable and resilient.Item Caracterização da poluição por resíduos sólidos na linha-do-deixa em duas praias do litoral norte de Pernambuco(2020-02-03) Nascimento, Eridiana Angélica Dias do; Melo Júnior, Mauro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6735233221650148; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0755007615566832Solid waste improperly disposed of on beaches poses risks to health and to the entire marine ecosystem. The objective of this work was to analyze and compare the solid residues found on the beaches of Maria Farinha and Casa Caiada in Pernambuco, evaluating the number of residues, observing possible associations with living beings and identifying the most likely sources. In 2019, three collections were made at each beach, in Maria Farinha, on November 25, at 8:49 am, December 13 and 26, at 10:42 am and 10:30 am respectively; and Casa Caiada, on November 27, at 10:46 am, December 14 and 27, at 11:20 am and 10:46 am, respectively. For the collection, a transect 1 m wide by 10 m long, whose center was the line-of-cue (maximum level of the high tide), was arranged in three points of the beaches, with a distance of 100 m between them. The collected items were quantified, weighed and measured. They were classified according to the composition: plastic, metal, paper, glass and organic, observed using a stereomicroscope to identify possible associated living beings and, finally, the possible sources of the analyzed items were defined. In total 141 items were collected during the three collection days at each beach, 41 at Maria Farinha beach and 100 at Casa Caiada beach. Associations of living beings were found mainly with plastic material residues, these organisms being macroalgae (arribada), microalgae (perifiton), oysters and barnacle, found in Maria Farinha. While at Casa Caiada beach, associations were found with items of plastic and metal material, these being polychaeta and gastropod tubes, respectively. The results show that the pollution comes mainly from what is consumed and discarded by users.Item Benefícios do investimento na normatização técnica de um sistema de gestão ambiental por meio da ISO 14001: estudo de caso com o Grupo Gerdau(2023-04-27) Agra, Bruna Mirella de Sá; Pimentel, Márcio Sampaio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1944948543483633; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5162992522845358Item Política Estadual de Mudanças Climáticas: instrumentos, resultados e interação com questões florestais(2022-10-10) Caetano, Matheus Braga Cordeiro; Meunier, Isabelle Maria Jacqueline; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9202793669201466; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4973571977743177The climate changes that the planet has been facing are the result of the intensification of the so-called greenhouse effect. In this sense, countries have signed agreements, establishing measures that those involved must adopt to define mitigation and adaptation strategies. Forests play an important role in mitigation, as they act as atmospheric carbon sinks, and it is essential that conservation strategies and expansion of forested areas are settled. Brazil and its states have been developing their national and local coping strategies. This work aims at describing public policies on climate change in the state of Pernambuco, in order to identify the main legal frameworks that provide the basis for confronting climate change in the region. Moreover, this paper analyzes the points of interaction of climate policies and measures for conservation and reforestation, identifying their results and stages of implementation and which projects have been executed or are in progress linked to the forest area that contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change. Qualitative research was developed based on bibliographic research, official documents and interviews. The state of Pernambuco has its state climate policy and instruments such as the State Plan for Climate Change (PEMC/PE) and the Pernambuco Decarbonization State Plan (PDPE) in addition to other policies that have programmatic coherence. It was identified that, for the forestry sector, the plans establish goals aimed at conservation and reforestation. Of the objectives for the forestry sector of the PEMC/PE, only the expansion of 22 conservation units could be verified. Mechanisms such as Payment for Environmental Services (PSA) and Reduction of Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD), proposed as options for the sector, were not proven successful, with no projects being developed over the twelve years of climate policy due to the lack of financial support for project development. There are only two programs under development in Pernambuco that can contribute to the mitigation strategy, but they are still in the implementation phase. The absence of implementation verification mechanisms, lack of financial support for policy implementation and low institutional coordination constitute major barriers to advancing climate policy and to mitigation by conservation and reforestation. The generation speed of this kind of waste, on a worldwide scale, is in the order of 20 to 25 million tons a year. This result is a concern of environmental preservation agencies. As these waste ware potentially contaminants, in large proportions, of biotic systems in soil, water and air. The case study uses the tool Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), developed by Walter Andrew Shewart, having two distinct periods of foundation, 1931 and 1939, through his books: Economic Control of Quality of Manufactured Product, and Statistical Method from the Viewpoint of Quality Control. This tool was suggested for the referenced company in order to optimize the operationalization of treatment and disposal of the EWA. Thus enable the speed of transformation into economically and environmentally viable by-products. Although far below the generation speed of these kind of waste. In the specific case of Brazil there is the National Solid Waste Policy (NSWP) associated with the law 12.305/2010, in force. Arising from the decree 10.240/2020, the reverse logistics of electronics products becomes mandatory Nationwide with due legal protection, and with the use of the PDCA tool, implemented in the electronics waste treatment and disposal company, there is a perspective of continuous improvement. The result of optimized management and legal provisions generates the mitigation of large-scale environmental impacts. Noting that the physical and Chemical components of electronics are extremely harmful to all natural resources, therefore, it is necessary to pay careful attention to environmental public policies.Item Monitoramento geoquímico e ambiental de solos na Área de Proteção Ambiental Santa Cruz, Pernambuco - Brasil(2019-12-19) Cunha, Lilian Maria Gomes da; Moraes, Alex Souza; Santos, Jandyson Machado; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4137257750865101; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0440163845324480; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1839740899121271The importance of the Santa Cruz Environmental Protection Area is attributed to its biodiversity and primary and secondary productivity, representing an ecological unit of great environmental and socioeconomic significance for the state of Pernambuco. The Santa Cruz Canal Estuarine Complex is recognized as an ecosystem quite vulnerable to pollution and contamination caused by improper land use and occupation. The analysis of heavy metals in soils (Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Nickel, Lead and Zinc) was used to make situation graphs of the environmental liabilities in which the Santa Cruz APA is located. The results were compared with CONAMA resolution 420/2009 as a guiding model for the reference values of contaminated soil quality. Thus, it was observed that for the arsenic and cadmium elements there were values above the allowed values, suggesting that there is an environmental impact registered in the Santa Cruz EPA probably resulting from agricultural activities and local urban expansion. It can be concluded that there is a need for increased environmental monitoring in both soil sample quantity and environmental parameters, as evidence of environmental disturbances in areas of strategic interest such as APAs has been the result of research. that are in line with the needs of public management.Item Desenvolvimento do sistema gestão integrado da Compesa(2020) Santos, Myckaella Joice Simone dos; Silva, Vicente de Paulo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3590522665927472; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8605437664422681
