Diversity in farming systems generates the importance of beef consumption through sustainable farming systems. Sustainable livestock farming involves technologies added to techniques for the production of meat, milk and derivatives, taking care of animal welfare, the environment and social responsibility in a viable and profitable way. The present study is a literature review that primarily involves the research and electronic collection of articles, magazines and reports on the issue of sustainability in beef cattle farming produced in Brazil, followed by the classification and systematization of the data obtained in the review. bibliographical, in parallel research on the economic and financial issue involving the market and consumption of beef produced in sustainable systems. This literature review provides a reflective perspective on the benefits that sustainable practices add to sustainable livestock farming in Brazil, integrating the producer, reducing deforestation, preserving water resources, preserving forests and moving the internal and external market.Item Aspectos produtivos relacionados a lesões em carcaças de bovinos e suas perdas econômicas em frigorífico comercial(2024-02-28) Costa, Maria Emília Felix de Aguiar; Monnerat, João Paulo Ismério dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3851426263880079; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9002794966802747The bruises in animal carcasses are a reality present in the country's refrigerators, causing damage to both the producer and the industry. One of the ways to evolve in increasing productivity is to perform a mapping of the hematomas present in bovine carcasses and quantify the possible economic losses. The objective of this study was to estimate the occurrence of lesions in bovine carcasses in a commercial refrigerator and the economic consequences arising from this scenario. The work will be carried out in a refrigerator, located in Recife-PE. The study comprised 10 random days of data collection, where the boning of 2500 cattle quarters was followed, 800 females and 1700 males, and it was possible to monitor the boning of 2100 rear quarters and 400 front quarters. To record the occurrences, a form developed especially for this purpose was carried out. The results found showed that of the 2500 cattle rooms evaluated, 20.04% had some type of injury, with 398 of the lesions found in males (79.44%) and 103 females (20.56%). Evaluating the economic losses, during the experimental period, it can be observed that the total losses from injuries in kilograms was 88.17 Kg in 2500 rear, and only 501 (20.04%) presented injuries, so the losses during the 10 days was 0.176 Kg/quarter. It can be concluded that the situations to which animals are exposed until the moment of slaughter have an intense impact on the productive and behavioral parameters.Item Relatório de Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO)(2024-02-16) Ramires, Millena Mary da Silva; Souza, Andreia Fernandes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6354486109796073; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3731466705214441Item Viabilidade econômica da engorda de bovinos de corte a pasto na Zona da Mata Norte de Pernambuco(2022-10-07) Souza, José Tiago Martins de; Silva, Valdson José da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6499654247132691; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3715102357431967Beef cattle is an important economic activity in Brazil, and even during the pandemic period, the activity maintained its grow. However, it is important to assess the economic feasibility of the activity under different conditions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the economic feasibility of rainsing beef cattle on pasture in the Zona da Mata Norte of the State of Pernambuco, using productive data from a farm for raising beef cattle on pasture, located in the municipality of Vicência, Zona da Norte of the state. The property purchases young animals with approximately 210 kg of live weight (LW) for raising on pasture in a production cycle with an average duration of 1.5 years, and commercialization of 120 animals per year. Using the property data, a cash flow was prepared, and the net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), profitability index, and simple and discounted payback were calculated. A sensitivity analysis was performed, considering the variation of ± 10% in the commercialization price. The project presented values of NPV = - 2,050,424.60, IRR of 7%, profitability index of 0.72, and simple payback of 10.3 years, exceeding the analysis period considered (10 years). In the studied condition, the production of beef cattle on pasture in the Zona da Mata region of Pernambuco, presents low economic viability since the IRR was below the minimum attractiveness rate (MAT) considered (CDI of 12.65%). A 10% increase in the meat price could raise the IRR to 9%, while the reduction could lower the IRR to 5%, indicating that in the scenarios studied, the IRR would remain below the MAT.Item Relatório do Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório.
