Quando há descontrole da secreção hormonal, ocorre perda da homeostasia celular advindo várias alterações, dentre elas o câncer. The activities were carried out during the period from August 12, 2019 to December 06, 2019, totaling 420 hours of internship during which, in the afternoon, clinical cases that were previously scheduled were followed up. The data covered in this report were obtained through clinical records, anamnesis, physical and clinical examination of the animals, as well as through complementary examinations performed during the consultation procedure. The case report chosen was a 11 month old male dog of undefined breed, with a history of hind limb paralysis and pain in all joints. She underwent several tests, including blood count, X-ray, ultrasound and parasitological bone marrow, where she was diagnosed with Leishmaniasis. The symptom of polyarthritis is a rare symptom and therefore difficult to diagnose. The animal has been treated for Leishmaniasis - specific medications, as well as being submitted to acupuncture sections. So far it has responded satisfactorily, however the animal still feels pain and it is still necessary sections of physiotherapy. Based on the above, it can be concluded that ESO's activities were extremely important to understand the operation of the hospital, to know its casuistry and to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the ESO.Item Leucoencefalite necrosante na raça Dachshund: relato de caso(2019-12-11) Santos, Ana Patricia Barbosa dos; Souza, Daniela Maria Bastos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4856221548369438The compulsory supervised internship (CSI) is performed as the last stage for the completion of the Veterinary Medicine course, its objective is that the student experiences the practice of the profession in the desired air. Putting into practice the theoretical contents seen during graduation. The internship was held at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) from August 19, 2019 to September 27, 2019 and at Pet Dream Veterinary Hospital from September 30, 2019 to October 30, 2019. This report describes the activities carried out at both institutions in the area of Small Animal Intensive Veterinary Medicine and describes a report of a Dachshund canine with Necrotizing Leukoencephalitis.Item Cistotomia e ureterotomia em cão da raça Yorkshire pós-obstrução por urólitos - relato de caso(2019-12-10) Fonte Neto, Alberto Amaral Gonçalves da; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406The Veterinary Hospital (HV) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) is formed by several sectors, among which the Large and Small Animal Ambulatory can be cited; Laboratories of Infectious Diseases, Parasitic, Milk and Meat Inspection, General Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging and the Surgical Clinic of Small and Large Animals. The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) was held from August 12 to November 18, 2019 in the Small Surgical Clinic sector. This internship aimed to improve the knowledge in activities directed in the area of Surgical Medical Clinic, specifically in the field of small animal surgery, and to acquire technical knowledge for the completion of the course and obtaining the Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine. The completion of the internship enabled the development of the case report entitled: “Cystotomy and ureterotomy in a yorkshire dog after obstruction by urocystolites and ureteroliths.” In this case, the patient was admitted to the HV presenting continuous dysuria, a central reason to lead the guardian to distrust the animal's health condition. Complementary examinations were performed with the intention of finding causes for the reported condition, and it was possible to conclude the diagnosis by ultrasound examination, with visualization of urocystolites and dilation of renal pelvis and left ureter.Item Doença do disco intervertebral em cães – classificação, diagnóstico e tratamento: relato de caso em cão da raça Dachshund(2019-12-12) Melo, Hilma Zulaide de; Teixeira, Marcelo Weinstein; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6499644970610610; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6302257521108471This paper aims to detail the characteristics of the different types of hernia, the diagnosis and treatment currently used. Throughout the work, a literature review was performed on the anatomy of the spine and spinal cord, as well as the pathophysiology of intervertebral disc herniation. Considered a routine procedure in veterinary clinics, treatments for this type of disease can follow two lines of treatment, conservative and surgical. With the advancement of studies in the field of alternative medicine, it has been noted the benefits that acupuncture has shown in the treatment of intervertebral disorders. The objective of this work was to report the experiences of laboratory activities and assist in the execution of diagnostic procedures designated by the commercial veterinary laboratory Labpet during the period from August 12 to November 14, 2019. Through this document a literature review was prepared about Hepatozoon canis and the occurrence of infection in dogs in rural areas through bibliographic survey. Deepening and discussing various aspects such as: agent; cycle, parathenic host, cystic forms, transmission and infection. Becoming notorious the need to investigate more and more about this agent.Item Doença renal policistica em canino da raça Labrador – relato de caso(2019-12-10) Nascimento, Diego Felipe Andrade do; Medeiros, Elizabeth Sampaio de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5998863169551704; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6784681278101216The case report chosen for the case report is a female Labrador, 6 months old, with a history of diarrhea, vomiting, fever, prostration and abdominal pain. As the vaccination protocol was incorrect, the initial clinical suspicion was parvovirus. The ultrasound examination showed that in addition to intestinal inflammation and pancreatitis, he had polycystic kidney disease (PRD), requiring hospitalization of the patient. Polycystic kidney disease is caused by a gene that causes several cysts to accumulate in the kidneys, causing partial or total loss of function. This report will address the clinical conduct and management of an animal with the above changes.
