Clinical signs associated to this syndrome are generally nonspecific, such as paleness, weight loss, petechiae, ecchymoses, lymphadenopathy, and hepatomegaly, however, manifestations related directly to hemolysis can also be verified, which include splenomegaly, jaundice, and hemoglobinuria or bilirubinuria. Such disease impairs tissue oxygenation bringing risks to the patient's health. Regarding to the diagnostic definition of immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, there is no gold standard laboratory test yet, and it is being achieved by the combination of patient clinical presentation, laboratory findings and immunological tests. For the therapeutic control, the use of corticoid therapy associated or not with anticoagulants is essential, due to the risk of thromboembolism in this disturb, as well as the implementation of transfusion support therapy, especially from concentrate of red blood cells, which will not interfere with blood volume, minimizing the risk of immune reactions. Thus, in view of the homeostatic damage generated by immunomediated hemolytic anemia to patient’s health, as well as its frequent occurrence in the veterinary clinic of small animals, it was the aim of the present undergraduate thesis to review the theme.Item Anestesia para procedimento odontológico em coelho doméstico (Oryctolagus cuniculus): relato de caso(2018-08-03) Rocha, Karen Barros da; Lorena, Sílvia Elaine Rodolfo de Sá; Menezes, Flávia Ferreira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8659871145469177; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4757148486343231Rabbits were classified as rodents until 1912, when the Lagomorpha order was recognized, since the lagomorphs can be distinguish from the rodents by having a second rudimentary pair of upper incisor teeth (peg teeth). Brazil has the second largest pet market in the world, behind only the United States. In the UK and other countries, it is the third most common pet. Dental diseases constitute 60% of the clinical conditions of rodents and lagomorphs, requiring the intervention of veterinarians. Despite the tame temperament, rabbits are easily stressful animals, which requires greater care by the veterinarian with physical restraint. The animal's own physical examination and imaging and treatment procedures require not only physical but chemical restraint, and even general anesthesia. Despite this, lagomorph anesthesia is relatively simple, since these animals are sensitive to most of the known drugs, presenting a rapid dose-response, although few studies report and discuss anesthetic protocols in this species, mainly in Brazil. However, the greatest challenge encountered by veterinary anesthetists is still the orotracheal intubation, due to their anatomical peculiarities, such as oropharynx, tongue and long and narrow incisor teeth and limited mobility of the temporomandibular joint, reasons for which several techniques have been developed over the years to subserve the procedure. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present a case report in which it was necessary to anesthetize a 6-year-old male pet rabbit with no defined breed to continue with overgrowth and malocclusion dental treatment, attended at the Veterinary Hospital UNESP-Botucatu Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science College.Item Anestesia/Analgesia epidural lombossacral em cães e gatos: revisão de literatura(2019-07-15) Silva, Katiane Maria dos Santos; Oliveira, Daniela; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0789816143092174Item Atrofia dos músculos mastigatórios em canino da raça Rottweiler: relato de caso(2019-12-10) Araújo, Vanessa Oliveira; Cardoso, Rita de Cássia Soares; Ferri, Rinaldo Cavalcante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3672392528239713; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1676694610799764Item Avaliação higiênico - sanitária de estabelecimentos varejistas de alimentos da região metropolitana de Recife - PE(2019-12-14) Araújo, Vanessa Jordão de; Assis, Anamélia Sales de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9211720343391456; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1099229932025269Item Avaliação radiográfica e ultrassonografia intervencionista no paciente com trauma por arma de fogo: relato de caso(2018-07-12) Oliveira Neta, Iraci Cordeiro de; Oliveira, Daniela; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3131239010322400Item Babesiose canina em Maceió, AL: relato de caso(2019-07-08) Santos, Jaciara Melo dos; Coutinho, Tania Alen; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1916619528141219; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0409465371006803Canine babesiosis or piroplasmosis is a disease caused by protozoa, Babesia spp. and it is characterized by intra and extravascular hemolysis, leading animal to present anemia. The canine babesiosis transmission occurs mainly through the blood feeding of the vector, Rhipicephalus sanguineus (brown tick) and this hemoparasitosis occurrence is justified by the wide distribution of its vectors, especially in tropical regions. The most common clinical signs observed are anemia, fever, inappetence, jaundice, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly, hemoglobinuria, petechiae, edema and ascites. Its diagnosis is made through clinical history, clinical signs, blood count, hemoparasite screening in the blood smear, serology and molecular biology. And the treatment of babesiosis is based on associated administration of the imidocarb dipropionate and atropine sulfate, and the best way to prevent it is to control the presence of the vector on the animal and in the environment, in which it lives. In view of the frequent occurrence of this disease in the dogs medical clinics in our country and the risk of developing very debilitating clinical conditions, it is necessary to constantly update the subject by students and veterinary professionals. Therefore, it was the objective of this monograph to report a case of canine babesiosis in a five year old Labrador Retrivier, apathetic, inept, febrile, with restricted access to the street and absence of ectoparasitism. The diagnosis of this case was established after the association of history and clinical signs, clinical pathology, the exclusion of differential diagnoses by a snap-ELISA and the positive reactivity to the Babesia sp. ELISA. The therapeutic control was achieved from the administration of imidobarb dipropionate in combination with atropine sulfate, after hepatic recovery. Canine babesiosis is a disease widely distributed worldwide. It is transmitted from the blood repellent of the tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) that is parasitized by babesia, thus it becomes necessary the parasitic control of the tick, in the environment, as well as in the animal, as a form of prevention and control of the disease.Item Características físico-químicas de salsichas e mortadelas de frango comercializadas na cidade de João Pessoa - PB(2019-01-24) Sousa, Lara Teixeira Ferreira e; Franque, Marcos Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1695836763549468; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3181231185956003Item Caracterização genotípica preliminar de bactérias ácido láticas isoladas de queijo de coalho artesanal produzido no agreste de Pernambuco(2019-06-05) Araujo, Natália Ferreira de; Mendonça, Marcelo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2524304225932931Item Carcinoma mamário inflamatório oculto em cadela: relato de caso(2019-07-11) Paiva, Rosany Christiny de Souza Lyra Arruda; Mattos, Lucilene Simões; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094079221793336Item Carcinoma ocular de células escamosas em bovino(2019-12-12) Buriti, Isabela Barros; Ramos, Taciana Rabelo Ramalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2578646566856035; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1397684147122889Item Cisto subcondral em côndilo medial do fêmur equino: relato de caso(2018-08-10) Lima, Gustavo Simões; Lucena, Jorge Eduardo Cavalcante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5117398890386927; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3719013034230840The subchondral cysts of the medial condyle of the equine femur have a multifactorial etiology, most frequently affecting foals at the age of onset, but can be diagnosed in adult horses. This lesion is characterized by intermittent claudication, according to the level of exercise that the animal is undergoing, if it increases the effort and the frequency, surely the horse will manifest clinical sign. Radiography and ultrasonography are the complementary exams of greater application in the diagnosis of cystic lesions. There are two main therapeutic approaches, the conservative one, which consists of joint infiltration using corticosteroids associated with joint and invasive lubricants, which may be corticosteroid intralesional injection, arthroscopy debridement and transcondylar screw placement. The present study describes the occurrence of a subchondral cystic lesion in the medial condyle of the femur of a 9-year-old equine, who was treated through joint infiltration and showed clinical improvement, returning to sports successfully after 90 days of treatment.
