Item O desmanche das políticas ambientais no Brasil sob a égide do governo da extrema direita: do ativismo ambiental a inércia governamental(2022-05-26) Nunes, Laysla Mikelly Marçal; Torres, Avani Terezinha Gonçalves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6894754635156771; Não localizadoThe motivation of this monograph was to address the main aspects related to Environmental policies, such as environmental inspection policies and the fight against deforestation and fires that occurred in the three previous governments, comparing them with those of the current government. The research shows what has happened with socio-environmental public policies over the years and what are the effects and consequences generated for the environment. In this context, the methodology used was an exploratory research with a qualitative approach, where the study for the theoretical basis had quantitative data. To achieve this purpose, a bibliographic review was carried out, presenting at first the concept and questions about the dismantling of public policies, secondly, austerity and the policies of the Environment, in a third moment the dismantling of environmental agencies, in a fourth moment , the environmental policies adopted by the Lula government, and finally, the policies adopted during the Bolsonaro government. The research was carried out from an analysis between the governments of former PT ex presidents Lula and Dilma/Temer in contrast with the government of the current president Jair Bolsonaro, where a drop in the budget linked to an increase in the number of fires and deforestation was verified during the Bolsonaro government, reaching alarming numbers. As a result, in addition to the lack of commitment to environmental policy agendas, the government has shown itself to be careless with environmental crises, causing great discontent among environmentalists. It comes to the conclusion that the environmental policies adopted during previous governments have lost their effectiveness in the face of the current government's lack of commitment: the numbers of fires and deforestation have risen again, and parallel to that, the number of inspectors has been falling year after year. Thus, the prospects under the Environment and the Bolsonaro government are increasingly worrying.Item Preço do petróleo e o mercado acionista brasileiro: uma análise usando o modelo SVAR(2022-06-08) Santana, Ana Paula Florentino; Reis, Felipe Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4966295939906577; Não localizadoThis study seeks to analyze the effects of fluctuations in the price of Brent oil on the Ibovespa index – the main performance indicator of the Brazilian stock market. For that, a structural autoregression vector model (SVAR) was estimated with monthly data referring to industrial production, exchange rate, Ibovespa and the price of oil, during the period from January 2002 to December 2021. According to the results of the variance decomposition, it was found that shocks in the analyzed variables directly impact the stock market. In addition, the results of the impulse response functions suggest a highly significant reaction of the Ibovespa to positive shocks in oil prices, exchange rates and industrial productionItem A relação entre democracia e crescimento econômico no início do século XXI (2000-2020)(2022-05-25) Tizei, Emanuela de Queiroz; Dugnani, Rodrigo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3362907909200372; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4429904330359885Faced with the conservative wave that has devastated Brazil and the world in recent years, and bringing to the fore the debates about the crisis of democracy or until its possible end, this work had as general objective to verify if democracy impacts the economic growth of a country to from studies already carried out during the period 2000-2020. We used an integrative literature review as a methodology, which allowed us to make a broad approach to the topic based on previous research and demonstrate the diversity of existing opinions on the subject. Therefore, we found that there are at least four different points of view on the democracy/economic growth relationship: that democracy is responsible for generating economic growth, that democracy does not generate economic growth, that growth only occurs in the process of democratization and that growth was the result of policies adopted by governments and not the political regime in force. From the results of these researches, we can conclude that although most of the articles selected for our database have reached the conclusion that democracy generates economic growth, it is necessary that other analyzes are carried out to clarify points that werenot evident to us, especially considering the need for a more adequate definition for the concept of democracy, since it is generally treated as just the right to vote.Item Evidências empíricas sobre evasão de estudantes do curso de Ciências Econômicas em tempos de covid-19(2021-12-17) Soares, Edijunho de Lima; Dugnani, Rodrigo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3362907909200372; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2991052611673316This article aims to address the problem of dropouts in higher education, in the context of the Economic Sciences college at UFRPE-UAST, looking for the crucial reasons that would lead a student to withdraw from the college. Through a bibliographic review and the application of a questionnaire to students of that college, data were collected that point out the possible motivations for evasion. They indicated that socioeconomic factors and school discipline would have greater weight in eventual decisionsItem Relações entre instituições, capital físico e acumulação de capital humano nos municípios brasileiros(2021-12-03) Siqueira Neto, Francisco Gomes de; Lima, Sergiany da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5314745114599013; Não localizadoThis article seeks to analyze the factors that influence human capital and its mobility from the perspective and assumptions of the neoclassical economic growth model. The analysis is restricted to Brazilian municipalities in the 2000 to 2010 census period. These data include investments in infrastructure and human capital formation, stimulated by the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) and the Federal Universities Restructuring and Expansion program ( MEETING). This study is validated to investigate a possible convergence of the human capital stock among Brazilian municipalities. Econometric estimation uses cross-section data using a two-stage estimator to treat institutional endogeneity, using latitude and mean rainfall as instrumental variables. The results obtained suggest that there was convergence of human capital among Brazilian municipalities, according to simulations carried out with the proxies of the number of people with a complete level of education at the elementary and high school level.Item Capital humano e desigualdades econômicas: Uma análise das relações de desigualdades educacionais e da qualidade institucional sobre a convergência de renda dos municípios brasileiros(2021-12-03) Santos, Andréa de Araújo; Lima, Sergiany da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5314745114599013; Não localizadoThis paper sought to analyze the convergence of Brazilian municipalities in the period 2000 to 2010, conditioned by human capital and institutional quality factors. The main hypothesis of this research is that the intergenerational inequality of human capital is one of the main factors responsible for income inequality in Brazil. To investigate this hypothesis, two sets of equations are estimated: one with the convergence of municipal education at primary, secondary and higher levels; and the second with economic growth and income convergence conditioned to the growth of municipal education. Both equations are modeled depending on the institutional quality of the municipalities. Thus, given the endogenous nature of institutions on the level of economic development, all models are Two-Stage Least Squares (MQ2E) estimators. The results confirm that to the extent that educational growth has its inequalities reduced, income inequalities are attenuatedItem O pensamento marxista na revista brasileira de economia política: uma revisão bibliográfica(2021-12-07) Rodrigues, Felype Tadeu Neves; Dugnani, Rodrigo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3362907909200372; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1222726452999231We present a systematic literature review on Marxist thought in the Brazilian Journal of Political Economy (REP). We started with reading and organization of the texts available on the journal's online platform, as the obejective to understand how this thought is discussed, since the articles were made available on the website in 2002. Then, we tried to identify the elements and characteristics that the authors point out about Marxist literature. Finally, we present the convergences and divergences of classified themes in the sphere of Political EconomyItem Crescimento econômico e convergência de renda no estado de Pernambuco: uma aplicação da teoria dos regimes múltiplos de crescimento econômico(2021-12-17) Souza Neto, Euclides Grigório dos Santos; Lima, Sergiany da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5314745114599013The work aims to analyze the economic growth and per capita income convergence model of the Pernambuco municipalities in the period 2000 to 2010. The employed method consists of a Threshold Regression of the conditional convergence. Growth regimes are determined by nonconcave changes in the aggregate production function, identified by trehsold variables of the unobservable reproducible capital stock. The results suggest a picture of persistent sub-regional inequalities in the state of Pernambuco. Municipalities with advanced economies are concentrated in a group of small participants, in which the capital stock, given the sensitivity of exogenous investment shocks, tends to converge. In the backward group, there is a composition formed by large numbers of cities, where given the circumstance that their capital stock is smaller than that of the advanced group, it has less sensitivity to investment and human capital shocks. Such information leads us to believe that policies to encourage investment in reproducible capital that do not cover cities equally create inequalities between municipalities.Item Impacto econômico da interiorização da UFPE no município de Caruaru: análise segundo o método de controle sintético(2021-12-14) Silva, Fernanda Nunes da; Siqueira, Kleyton José da Silva Pereira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3616610194060665This course conclusion work aims to examine the impact of the interiorization policy of the Agreste Academic Center (CAA) of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) on the economic development of the city of Caruaru in the rural region of Pernambuco. The empirical strategy used was the Synthetic Control Method (SCM) in the period 2000-2016, which allows for the visualization of the trajectory of the city's PIB per capita before and after the implementation of the policy. The results indicate that the existence of an impact of CAA on PIB per capita in the municipality of Caruaru cannot be confirmed.Item Medidas econômicas e de enfrentamento voltadas para a redução dos impactos da Covid-19 no Brasil(2021-12-17) Lima, Erick Sândeney Rodrigues de; Santos, Loraine Menêses dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4166590770317390The purpose of the work is essentially to synthesize the economic effects of the crisis resulting from Covid-19 and the response of public actions to fight it in Brazil, later observing the results and variations of economic indices. In addition, observing the initial economic actions adopted in different countries and the reasons, will also be seen coping measures that contemplated better scenarios, thus offering support for the formulators' reflection on what would be the basic measures to be used and to what extent, given that they depend on the specifics of each country. In other words, one of the purposes is to assist in current debates on the adjustment of policy formulations, without claiming originality, approaching yet another extract from the current economic bibliography on the subject with appropriate references. In general, the economic policies adopted in Brazil were observed and subsequently the results arising from them and the coping measures, seeking to conclude if there are signs that in this adverse and unexpected scenario, the actions managed to mitigate the implications and if different policies could bring better results . For this, the implications in the variables inflation, unemployment, income, consumption and GDP were observed. In addition to looking at actions that contributed to the confrontation and consequently positively in economic variables. Specifically, the research presents brief considerations about the economic implications of the Covid-19 pandemic, with a quick overview of the economic measures adopted by a group of countries, highlighting their similarities and specificities, as well as different coping approaches that contemplate better scenarios, thus presenting possible alternatives and contrasting those adopted in Brazil. Finally, it is concluded that there are positive stimuli in the economic variables that attenuated the impacts, but there are signs that different policies would bring better results and that late prevention measures aggravated the implications.
