This article aims to highlight the cenacles and dissident identities present in the Berlin of the Weimar Republic. To do so, let's analyze the spaces of the city and the intrigues traced by Jason Lutes (2020) in his comic entitled Berlin. The golden years of the so-called gay capital of Europe are the result of the emergency process of a plural modernity, which overflows after the defeat of Germany in World War I and the overthrow of imperial power. Faced with several setbacks, such as the rise of the Nazis, and the hate speech that grows every day, the city of Berlin experiences a moment of cultural effervescence, in which bohemian intellectuals explore dissident and flaming identities.

(2023-09-11) Carvalho, Thecia Karolina Souza de; Alves, Bruno Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8297422717781216; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4895746996790379
The sign languages and comics share similar features, the visual experience is one of the most important, and it is also one of the cultural artifacts of deaf culture. In this regard, this study is an action research project whose aim is to demonstrate how the manga A Silent Voice (2020) can be used in the teaching-learning process of the Brazilian Sign Language (LBS) in a 4th grade class in the municipal district of Paulista-PE. Firstly, for our theoretical foundation, we seek to trace the roots of Western comics, emphasizing their relation to education, as well as the main features of manga. Then, we gave an overview of deaf education and the elements that constitute the language, as well as the importance of bilingual education and the use of comics in the teaching and learning of deaf and listeners. Through a questionnaire and interview, the students and the 4th grade teacher participated in the research, in order to answer the specific objectives: to investigate the students' previous knowledges about comics and the teacher's conception of their use in school; to discover the teacher's and students' experiences with the language; to identify the presence of the subject in the different spaces of the school; to analyze students' comic strips, taking into account the aspects discussed in the didactic sequence applied. We used content analysis to define four categories that relate to the results, also using aspects of semiotic analysis. The results indicate that school is a favorable environment for the dissemination of deaf culture and the manga contributed to the development of sign language knowledge.

In this article, we'll look at Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga. Our goal is to perceive, through the identification of thematic nuclei, the way the work establishes a social representation of history, through the dispositions that the characters make of the past and its importance for the narrative plot. To this end, we will dialogue with Chartier's concept of social representation, according to which social representation is not understood as the act of revealing an absent object (or situation), but are discourses that have their own devices, their own rhetorical and narrative articulations, which are not reducible to the ideas they enunciate or the themes they sustain.

Mangá Fullmetal Alchemist: uma representação social do totalitarismo
(2022-10-07) Lima, Franky Lourenço de; Barbosa, Lúcia Falcão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5667594441132627; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1807758287595697
This article seeks to analyze how the Fullmetal Alchemist manga, by the artist Hiromu Arakawa, mobilizes a social representation of totalitarianism. For that, we make use of the concepts: i) of totalitarianism, defined by Hannah Arendit (1998), to underline the mechanisms of exceptionality in the State of Law, ii) of social representation, developed by Roger Chartier (1982), with the purpose of undestand the nuances with which the graphic narrative of manga and anime approaches this theme. Methodologically, we chose some structuring thematic nuclei of the narrative, wich is divided into 108 chapters originally published in a contexto of dissemination of Japanese Pop Culture to the rest of the world (2001-2010).

Comics have been used for pedagogical purposes in several areas of knowledge. In this work, we aim to analyze how undergraduates in mathematics learn Comics (Comic Books) for the teaching of Mathematics, after a workshop focused on their teacher training on this topic. We developed the research with mathematics undergraduate students at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, in particular in the Supervised Internship II discipline (ESO II), during the exceptional academic period 2020.4, experienced in the remote teaching modality, due to the COVID19 pandemic. At first, 10 undergraduates answered a questionnaire that sought to raise their previous knowledge about comics. During two synchronous classes of ESO II, a workshop on comics and the use of the Pixton platform was offered. Finally, we resumed in another class to verify the activities developed by the licensors involving comics for the teaching of mathematical content. As a result, we present three HQs built by the undergraduates: one about the Pythagorean Theorem and triangles in geometry, another about functions and the last one entitled Exponential Function in Pandemic Times.
