Regarding methodology, at CETRAS Tangara, the student participated in various activities, from primary care for puppies to screening, diagnosis, and clinical and surgical treatment of wild animals. During this period, she experienced the routine of the HVU - UFRPE Surgical Clinic, where surgeries were carried out on domestic animals, as well as pre, trans, and post-operative follow-up. The internship experience narrated here proved to be enriching, improving practical skills in medical and surgical clinics, animal handling, nutrition, and essential care.
The MSI took place between August 30th and November 17th, 2021 in the surgical sector of Animalis – Surgery and Veterinary Clinic- and Ortovet -Veterinary Orthopedic Center- where a total of 87 patients with their various ailments were followed up. Serving the internship in different places and sectors allowed a unique and enriching experience due to the professional knowledge of the team in the areas of general, reconstructive and orthopedic surgery. During this period, a case of neoplasm in the oral cavity of Python Molurus Bivittatus was treated and it is described in this review. The male snake, weighing 29.950kg, was referred for care presenting signs of edema in the rostral region, dysphagia, pain, as well as a structure of firm consistency near the mandible that protruded ventrally to the region. During the surgical procedure, the presence of bone involvement was confirmed, but taking into account its biology and food biomechanics, only the soft tissue tumor was removed, that is, mandibulectomy was not chosen. Choosing a technique that preserves the mandibular structure allowed a significant improvement in the clinical condition of the patient, since, after a few weeks of postoperative and wound healing, the animal no longer needed analgesics to eat, returning to its normal natural behavior and quality of life. It is concluded that despite the evolution of Veterinary Medicine, when it comes to oncology in reptiles, further studies related to the use of auxiliary therapy, such as chemotherapy are necessary. Therefore, surgery is currently the best treatment option for this condition.

The Obligatory Supervised Internship, foreseen as a compulsory complementary discipline, aims to complement the theoretical-practical education acquired in the undergraduate program, allowing the student to be able to experience in practice areas of interest. This report describes activities performed in the area of anesthesiology in three schools of Veterinary Medicine, accounting for a total workload of 424 hours. It was possible to follow 201 anesthetic procedures in different species, sectors and types of surgeries. As the wild animals category within anesthesiology was of greater interest, we chose to describe the procedures involving these animals, with a total of five patients, emphasizing the limitations and difficulties regarding the management and anesthetic procedure. When dealing with anesthetic management of wild animals, knowledge about the particularities and behavior of each species, care as to the safety of the team and the animal, previous organization of all necessary equipment is necessary. The pharmacological containment, for these, is intended for physical examination, collection of biological materials, clinical and surgical treatments among others. In order to avoid stress by containment, as well as to ensure the safety of the team, pre-anesthetic evaluation is not always possible, being the observation to the professional, which in some cases is also difficult, being essential, safety in the protocols and doses used. , in order to avoid trans and post anesthetic complications, and should be prepared to reverse them if they occur. Despite the limitations and challenges, anesthetic management in wild animals is possible with quality and safety.
