The ESO lasted for 420 hours and was conducted at CORe (Centro Oncológico do Recife) as well as at the Hospital Veterinario do Recife. Throughout the internship period, activities related to the surgical clinic took place, allowing for the consolidation of knowledge acquired during the college degree, including performing approximately 142 surgical procedures. Furthermore, this report will delve deeper into the case of a cat with squamous cell carcinoma and the techniques applied in the patient's treatment.Item Relatório de Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) realizado na área da anestesiologia veterinária (Recife - PE, Brasil). Bloqueio do quadrado lombar em felino submetido à esplenectomia: relato de caso(2023-09-22) Aquino, Alanna Farias Cordeiro de; Santos, Edna Michelly de Sá; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5706618430575429The objective of this work was to describe the activities developed during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), carried out in the area of Veterinary Anesthesiology, which was divided into two stages, where the first took place under the supervision of the independent professional M.V Mariana Pontes, veterinary anesthetist, and the second, under the supervision of M.V Thaygo Marçal, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. The internship was carried out from May 29, 2023 to August 11, 2023, totaling 420 hours. The report describes the characteristics of the location chosen for the reported case, in addition to the series of patients followed up during the period. A case of ultrasound-guided block on the lateral aspect of the quadratus lumborum muscle (QL-block) using the transverse approach (LQL-T) to provide visceral analgesia in a feline undergoing splenectomy surgery using 0.25 bupivacaine was also reported. %. No nociceptive signs were observed during surgery, parameters were within normal limits and post-operative pain was assessed using the UNESP-Botucatu multidimensional scale for assessing acute post-operative pain in cats, leading to the conclusion that the QL-block is a good option. for feline species, promoting good visceral abdominal analgesia.Item Correção cirúrgica de hérnia de hiato em felino - Relato de caso(2023-09-22) Nascimento, Lucas Felipe Oliveira; Andrade, Lílian Sabrina Silvestre de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0894888392191039; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6521776896348051Item Anatomia clínica aplicada à odontologia de cães e gatos(2023-09-18) Ferreira, Mateus dos Prazeres; Andrade, Moacir Bezerra de; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8254242572414884; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1142105954631842The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) comprises a crucial moment in the learning curve of veterinary medicine students, being a moment of challenge for future veterinarians who will put into practice all their knowledge, fundamental to professional excellence. With a view to personal improvement, this report addresses the ESO, which took place between June 1st and August 14th, 2023, with emphasis on the area of Small Animal Surgical Clinic. Divided into two parts, it began on June 1st and ended on the 30th of that month at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) under the supervision of M.V. Dr. Robério Silveira de Siqueira Filho and collaborators. Between July 3rd and August 14th of that same year, ESO began to be carried out at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in Areia, Campus II, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Felipe Nael Seixas and collaborators. The two experiences totaled the 420 hours required to complete the bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE. Knowledge of the regional anatomy of the head and neck is essential to work in veterinary dentistry and the veterinarian, to be successful in the dental clinic, must become familiar with the very delicate structures of this anatomical region, which is made up of bones of the skull, face and jaw, its joints, innervations, vascularization, glands and adjacent tissues, as well as the lymphatic system. In this way, it is possible for surgical intervention to become much safer and more precise in the care of dogs and cats. As an integral part of this report, the last chapter will consist of a syllabus proposal for the creation of the optional subject entitled “Clinical Anatomy Applied to Dog and Cat Dentistry”, for the Undergraduate Course in Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE. This menu aims to contribute to the scientific and academic community, with the aim of compiling basic and important anatomy concepts for one of the veterinary medical specialties that has been growing the most and gaining ground, which is dog and cat dentistry.Item Estudo epidemiológico e achados hematológicos em caninos e felinos infectados por Anaplasma platys no leste potiguar - Natal, RN(2023-01-21) Silva, Laura Gomes da; Teixeira, Miriam Nogueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7448694221629949; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5665513595061012Item Imunodeficiência felina (FIV): avaliação da prevalência em gatos provenientes de abrigos e atendimento clínico-hospitalar em Recife – PE(2022-10-10) Lucena, Raíssa Coutinho de; Maia, Rita de Cássia Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2624582592628384; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6388191359851614Item Atresia anal associada à fístula retovaginal em felino - Relato de caso(2022-10-10) Castro Filho, Valdecks Ferreira de; Andrade, Lílian Sabrina Silvestre de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0894888392191039; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5580477561241627This report presents the activities carried out during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), carried out in the Small Animal Medical Clinic area, at the Veterinary Clinic, located in Recife, from June 27 to September 16, 2022, totaling load total hours of 472 hours. The feline diaphragm consists of three foramina: the aortic hiatus is located dorsally, the vena cava forâmen ventrally and the esophageal hiatus on the right side. Diaphragmatic hernia occurs due to the rupture of the diaphragm, wich causes the displacement of organs from the abdominal cavity to the thoracic cavity. It can be classified according to its origin, secondary to trauma or accidents, it’s classified acquired. As an example of trauma that causes diaphragmatic hernia, we can mention being run over, falling, fighting, kicking, thus being classified as traumatic diaphragmatic hernia. About 85 % of the series of traumatic diaphragmatic hérnias occurs in felines, young, male and not neutered. Clinical signs are of cardiorespiratory and gastrointestinal origin, and may vary according to the herniated organs. However, traumatic diaphragmatic hernias are often associated with significant respiratory distress, however chronic diaphragmatic hernias in asymptomatic animals are not uncommon. The diagnosis is based on clinical history (such as recent trauma) and is confirmed by simple and contrasted radiographic examinations of the chest, with may include loss of the diaphragm dome, overlapping of víscera to the lung and displacement of the cardiac silhouette. It can be associated with abdominal ultrasound, since pleural effusions may be present and thoracocentesis may be necessary. The prognosis of animals affected with traumatic diaphragmatic hernia is guarded. Because it’s a rupture, the indicated treatment is surgical correction, and it’s necessary to stabilize the patient for submission to the surgical procedure.Item Relatório de Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório realizado na Clínica Veterinária Pet Clínica, Recife, Pernambuco.
