In this Final Undergraduate Thesis, we built a heritage education guide based on the activities of the Núcleo de Ensino e Pesquisa Arqueológica da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, with its archaeological work in Comunidade do Pilar, Recife-PE, where were found materials of great relevance to the history of the city and the country. We seek to elaborate a support material for teachers to help them build a reflective, critical and autonomous teaching, meeting the demands of public education policies represented by the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC). To this end, we conducted a study on the History of Education in Brazil, delimiting as a starting point the 1988 Constitution until the elaboration of the National Base, aiming to identify the goals and norms elaborated for education in Brazil. Then, we studied the possibilities of producing a didactic product from the material found in the archeological project developed in Pilar. Thus, considering the importance of History Teaching for the formation of critical citizens and social memory, uniting research and education, we designed a guide that opens space for dissemination and dialogue of the studies developed, but without dismissing the guidelines and norms of education.

Cabaré Chanteclair (Chantecler): as noites perfumadas de um Recife de outros tempos (1950 – 1960)

The present work proposes to approach, from a certain time cut, the night activities that had as stage the Chanteclair building. Our purpose is to bring up a piece of Recife's almost forgotten history, give voices to anonymous people, let them speak, tell us their stories, tell us their memories and, from these memories, give life to the old Chanteclair building. We wanted to make explicit what was behind those windows, to let emerge to our days, part of the daily life of what was once considered one of the biggest and most renowned strongholds of prostitution in the Recife port area. It was a place of strong presence of anonymous and intellectuals who, although spontaneously, fraternized there. Bringing the Chanteclair building back to the scene, scrutinizing it, retrieving details of the functioning of the then cabaret Chantecler, a place of lights, luxury, elegance, imposing temple of glamour that for its beauty and majestic appearance enchanted even members of British royalty who passed through here. A story that enchants some, that remembers them with nostalgia, while saddening others, or better, others, that also remembers them, but with sorrow, sadness and even a certain shame of certain things lived and witnessed there. For better or for worse, the Chanteclair building, today a prisoner of an unfinished restoration process, still stirs those who travel through the busy and touristic Marquês de Olinda avenue and its surroundings, either for its magnificence and beauty, or for its history. This history has inspired us this writing and delicious research, whose objective is exactly to invite the reader to a trip to the past of the perfumed nights of a Recife of other times.

The second war was a historical event splitting water in the twentieth century, and the city of Recife was part of the initiative, the Brazilian state, which in January 1942 broke diplomatic relations with the countries of the axis; and in August Brazil declares war on Germany and Italy. In this sense, the city of Recife participates actively in the conflict. And it is directly affected by it. The city was home to South Atlantic defense operations as part of the battle for control of the Atlantic. Recife went to the headquarters of the 4th US Navy fleet. There were in the city, in a period of three years, American and other American military and civilians. The objective of this work is to understand aspects of the daily life of the city of Recife during the war period, as well as to analyze the American presence in the city.
