(2024-07-26) Nascimento, Rozyelayny; Gomes, Sónia Maria Fonseca Pereira Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9795791528582607
This work presents an economic and financial analysis of the impact of non-technical losses in the electricity sector, focusing on a case study on the distributor Light S/A. Non-technical losses represent a significant challenge for distributors, being strongly influenced by socioeconomic factors. The Rio de Janeiro market was chosen due to its significant rates of energy theft and the complexity involved. Such aspects raise concerns among investors in the sector, which, despite being attractive, faces considerable challenges. To investigate this situation, a survey was carried out in relation to scientific production on the subject and a financial analysis of the accounting indicators of the distributor Light SA, a high level of debt and low capacity to honor its obligations were verified, the current situation These indicators serve as a warning to the company's investors.

“O crime compensa?”: uma análise social e econômica das políticas de segurança no estado de Pernambuco (2008-2022)
(2024-03-07) Tonial, Erickson de Oliveira; Freitas, Petrus Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1474091666288817; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4632805876888797
This work investigates the relationship between Lethal and Intentional Violent Crimes (CVLI) and economic indicators such as GDP, education, housing, basic sanitation and investments in public security in Pernambuco, between 2008 and 2022, using a literature review methodology and statistical comparison analysis to demonstrate the interaction between these factors. In this way, the persistence of violence in the history of the state of Pernambuco was addressed, relating it to social inequality and economic development, in addition to the analysis of social classes to understand economic and political disparities, highlighting the importance of formulating public policies to promote social justice. Inspired by Gary Becker's Economic Theory of Crime, the study focuses on the economic determinants of criminal acts, analyzing incentives, costs and benefits, and considering marginalization, social inequality and lack of opportunities as significant contributors to crime. The update results provide insights into the possible relationship between Lethal and Intentional Violent Crimes and economic indicators, but should be interpreted with caution. As described throughout this work, there are several approaches to interpreting the motivation and causality that the individual has for committing the crime. In short, these results indicate that investments in the analyzed indicators are associated with a reduction in the rates of Intentional Lethal Violent Crimes, results obtained through the Pearson improvement. This suggests that social policies and investments in various areas can play an important role in preventing crime.

(2021-12-02) Gomes, Larissa Manoely da Silva; Monnerat, João Paulo Ismério dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3851426263880079; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6299383338289793
The objective was to evaluate the economic viability of three sheep production objectives, differentiated by technological levels of exploration. Environmental and technical assumptions are assumed for the structuring of technological matrices. The Technological Matrix 1 considers a total of 176 animals, distributed in 100 hectares of native Caatinga pasture, with forage and mineral supplementation. For this system, nutritional, sanitary and reproductive management with more extensive characteristics is considered. For Technological Matrix 2, the initial module of 315 animals is assumed, at a moderate technological level, distributed in native Caatinga pasture enriched with Buffel grass (Cenchrus ciliaris) and rearing and finishing the lambs (as) on pasture in this cultivar. The Technological Matrix 3 has an initial herd of 598 animals, with lambs (as) finished in a confinement system, and allocation of the other categories of animals in Buffel grass pasture (Cenchrus ciliaris), considering more desirable zootechnical indices. The operational costs of technological matrices 1, 2 and 3 were calculated for the analysis of performance measures in determining a possible stable system. The technological matrix 1 obtained values of R$ 19.666,25, R$ 36.401,24 and R$ 37.654,79 for Effective Operating Cost (COE), Total Operating Cost (TOC) and Total Production Cost (CTP). In technological matrix 2, it found values of R$ 44.947,75 for COE, R$ 74.548,19 for COT and R$ 77.078,39 for CTP. In technological system 3, it obtained values of R$ 118.511,00 (COE), R$ 172.482,64 (COT) and R$ 176.152,84 (CTP). The values of fixed assets of the production systems were calculated, based on the cost of machinery and equipment, improvements and animals, estimating R$ 50.785,00 for technological matrix 1, R$ 151.385,00 of fixed assets for technological matrix 2 and R$ 250.840.00 for the technological matrix 3. Through the calculations obtained from the Gross Revenue (RB), Gross Margin (MB), Net Margin (ML), profitability and cost benefit ratio (BC), return evaluation values were observed and profitability in the production costs of technological matrix 2, representing R$ 170.563,39 for RB, R$ 52.052,39 for MB, R$ 1.919,25 for ML, R$ -5.589,45 for profitability and 0,97 for the index BC.

Análise das disparidades nos indicadores educacionais municipais de Pernambuco: uma análise de aglomerados
(2019) Silva, Joed Freire Pereira da; Soares, Ana Paula Amazonas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0216127558312955
This paperis an exploratory and analytical studyabout educational indicatorsdisparities and the introduction of socioeconomic indicators, both models formunicipalities of the State Pernambuco, Brazil. The objective is to verify the distribution of the indicators in the territoryof Pernambuco, linking them togeographical space, and then introducing the socioeconomic indicators. Therefore, the changes could be pointing out the municipalities that need more attention and, in addition, to identify the formation of groups with similar characteristics. For this, the technique known ascluster analysis was used. With Ward Distance Agglomerative Hierarchical Process three estimates were made introducing new information gradually and verifying the formation dynamics of the groups. The technique clearly identified the regional distributionof learning and quality of life indicators in the state. The results showed that income does not fully explain the best learning outcomes. Similarly, resources redistributed to education through FUNDEB were not sufficient to determine better educational indicators. Regarding the clusters, it was observed that although the formation of groups of municipalities that are homogeneous and spatially neighboring occurs, similarity also occurs regardless of proximity. Finally, we tried to highlight some limitations of the technique used.

This paper commits itself to measure the impact of the corruption of educational resources on educational indicators. For this, this test was used of all the CGU inspection reports carried out in the municipalities of Pernambuco from 2006 to 2015 in the educational sphere. With regard to educational indicators, the following were used: Ideb (Basic Education Development Index) of the 5th and 9th year of elementary school, School Abandonment in High School and School Abandonment in Elementary School; to substantiate the relationship were added some economic data: the average of Per capita GDP, average Per Capita Expenditures, average of Transfers of Per Capita Resources. At first, a descriptive analysis was done, followed by a multiple regression model, with educational indicators as dependent variables and the other variables as independent variables. As a result, based on the IDEB and the Abandonment Rate, there is a direct relationship between these educational indicators and the corruption index.

Agribusiness is one of the sectors of greater importance in the Brazilian economy and has been moving millions of reais in resources, generating thousands of direct and indirect jobs and transforming the Country into a large agrarian barn. In this sense, in search of new techniques and technologies, the Compulsory Supervised Internship was held during the period from September 18 to December 7, 2018, at the Rehagro Company, in the State of Minas Gerais, with the objective of addressing management issues rural development, as well as the use of managerial tools of important indices for dairy cattle raising. Practical activities developed especially for the financial management of agribusiness, with emphasis on the use of Information Technology (IT). During the training period, some farms were monitored for the collection of data for the elaboration of indexes capable of pointing out possible failures in production and consequent generation of resources. In particular, two cases were followed at Fazenda São João, in the municipality of Inhauma-MG. Failures in reproductive and sanitary management were detected and, through the use of tools such as Benchmarking and PDCA, it was possible to make a decision to reverse the deficit of production costs. Based on the above, it can be concluded that the implementation of a plan of action, based on the IT management and employment indices, should always be taken into account when establishing efficient production, profitability, and above all with good relations between all those involved.
