Morphometric analyzes in forest seeds can generate relevant information that help in breeding programs, indicating genetic variability among individuals of the same species. Knowing the genetic characteristics of parica seeds (Schizolobium parahyba var. Amazonicum (Huber ex Ducke) Barneby) helps in choosing materials with desirable characteristics to be used in breeding programs, seeking to obtain greater productive potential and may contribute to the advancement of breeding genetic of the species. The objective of this study was to characterize genetic diversity by biometric seed evaluation of S. parahyba var. amazonicum. The seeds were collected in the municipality of Paranaita, Mato Grosso, in forest fragments. Subsequently, 424 seeds from the 6 mother trees were analyzed. The characteristics evaluated were length, width, thickness and weight. The analysis of variance was performed on the collected data and the averages were compared with each other by the Scott-Knott clustering test at the 5% probability level. Genetic dissimilarity was verified by the generalized Mahalanobis distance using the Unweighted Pair Group Mean Average (UPGMA) method, Tocher optimization, canonical variables (VC) and character importance. The results showed great genotypic diversity for the evaluated seeds (especially seed thickness and width), and it was possible to group the mother trees. The result of cluster analysis based on the generalized distance of Mahalanobis (D2) by the Tocher optimization method, showed the formation of two distinct groups, such result reveals a great genetic diversity among the studied genotypes. According to the selective accuracy, it was possible to verify that the methodology used was adequate and of very high selective accuracy. Thus, it was verified that the parica matrices have great potential for use in breeding programs and to highlight seed collection areas.

Análise genética na investigação de origem da tilápia (Oreochromis niloticus) em cultivos comerciais
(2019-07-12) Silva, Gênison Carneiro; Coimbra, Maria Raquel Moura; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7669497233462075; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3679959470967021
The development of genetically improved tilapia strains was an important step in world aquaculture, considering growth, reproduction, weight gain, fillet yield and greater rusticity of the selected individuals. Acquiring improved seeds is the first step to shortening production time, however, the fish farmer should provide adequate conditions and structure to achieve optimal maximum performance. In biphasic tilapiculture systems in excavated nurseries, it is common for the nursery phase to occur in a different location than the fattening phase. In this case study, one producer purchased improved fingerlings from a tilapia breeding company “A” and sent them to company “B” to conduct the nursery phase. However, when such the producer received the “B” tilapia juveniles and fattened them, they did not show the expected zootechnical performance. The objective of this study was to detect if the tilapia of "A" and "B" had the same genetic origin. Were used genetic markers such as microsatellites and mitochondrial DNA control region (D-loop). A total of 79 samples were collected, of which 40 were from “A” and 39 from “B”. The samples had their total DNA extracted and were genotyped for the UNH104, UNH106, UNH160 and UNH208 microsatellite markers. Then, the samples had the control region haplotypes identified by sequencing. The genetic diversity of microsatellites was analyzed to correctly attribute that the origin of "B" came from "A". The alignment and editing of the D-loop also revealed a haplotype network with equitable stakes of "A" and "B" confirming that the groups belonged to the GIFT lineage. The techniques used show that the different zootechnical performance should be associated with issues related to the adopted management and stocking density during the nursery phase.

The Mandatory Supervised Internship is part of subject for undergraduation of the course of Veterinary Medicine at the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE). The student completed his total workload of 420 hours from 12 August to 25 October and was carried out at two poultry companies, Cobb Vantress in Guapiaçu-SP and G3 Agroavícola in Riacho das Almas-PE. The internship was directed to the poultry production area. In both companies visited it was possible to see daily, the management and rules of biosecurity. The internship aimed to aggregate aspects of biosecurity and management-level technologies that can be applied in Poultry Farms so the bird can achieve its genetic potential, as well as to know Grandparents Farms and Hatchery in order to deepen knowledge of the poultry pyramid. The internship makes a great contribution at the practical learning level, thus being a discipline of the UFRPE Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine course of extreme importance for the development and deepening of theoretical and practical knowledge for the students.
