The activities aimed at the area of Medical, Surgical and Reproduction of Large Animals allowed the provision of services aimed at equine, swine, bovine, goat, sheep and buffalo species, contributing to the development and improvement of skills inherent to the profession of Veterinary Doctor. The present work aims to describe the activities performed at PRAPSMV, during the period from March 2022 to January 2022 and report a case of esophageal obstruction in a horse undergoing clinical-surgical treatment. The total number of services carried out in the period between March 2022 and January 2024 was 227 clinical, surgical and reproductive services, including all species treated in the area, of which 100 were ruminants, 127 horses and 4 pigs. With varying levels of complexity and affecting the different organic systems, broad and qualified training was possible, which is important for the professionalization of the Veterinary Doctor. In the context of the SUS, the work developed allowed for various learnings related to Public Health, making it possible to observe the main demands of the population, the activities carried out by Environmental, Epidemiological and Health Surveillance, as well as the importance of the Veterinary Doctor's role as a health professional. at NASF. Spanning a duration of 24 months, the program operates under an exclusive dedication regime, with a minimum workload of 5,760 hours. These hours are allocated between practical activities, constituting 80% of the total, and theoretical-practical activities, making up the remaining 20%. The veterinary professional in residency also engages in activities in the field of public health, adopting an approach centered around the concept of One Health. Additionally, there is the opportunity to undertake activities at another educational institution for up to one month, although this experience is not mandatory. The aim of this work is to describe the activities conducted during the period of residency in veterinary anesthesiology at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, as well as to report on the use of the transversus abdominis plane and ventral serratus plane blocks in six cats undergoing total mastectomy.Item Relatório de conclusão de residência em área profissional de saúde em medicina veterinária – medicina veterinária preventiva – doenças parasitárias(2024-02-22) Silva, Samara dos Santos; Melo, Renata Pimentel Bandeira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2756533380815255; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4700971857977139The Residency Program in the Professional Area of Health in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) – Recife Campus aims to train Veterinarians for service in a specific area, through the lato sensu postgraduate teaching modality and exclusive dedication regime, lasting 24 months. The objective of this report is to describe the activities developed during the residency period (March 2022 to February 2024) and the quantity of laboratory analyses conducted (March 2022 to December 2023) in the area of Preventive Veterinary Medicine – Parasitic Diseases. The residency consisted of 5.760 hours dedicated to the routine of the Parasitic Diseases Laboratory (3.648 hours), the theoretical subjects studied (1.152 hours), and the activities carried out in the Unified Health System (960 hours), distributed in the Health Surveillance areas and with the Multidisciplinary Team (e-Multi), both carried out in the Health District III, located in municipality of Recife, Pernambuco. During the residency period, the research entitled “Performance of different rapid tests in the diagnosis of Leishmaniasis in naturally infected dogs” was carried out and is described in chapter II.
