Among the consequences of certain consumption behaviors, over-indebtedness has been presented as one of the main dilemmas for Brazilians in these first two decades of the 21st century. Therefore, the general objective of this work was to understand the financial lives of consumers who are or have been in over-indebtedness. Regarding the methodological procedures, the present work has an exploratory-descriptive character of a qualitative nature. For the collection of primary data, on-site observation was carried out and a form was made available on the Google Forms platform. Based on what was observed, we can consider that schooling is not synonymous with financial education, income, its source and amount, together with the number of people who live together, despite not being determining factors in over-indebtedness, can help to worsen both default and quality of life. We hope that this work will contribute to the creation of effective programs to prevent over-indebtedness, protection and consumer education, with a view to influencing financial health and, consequently, improving the quality of life of citizens.

(2020-10-10) Barros, Naylline Hills de Albuquerque; Albuquerque, Hortência Cruz de; Silva, Laurileide Barbosa da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7869325906861017; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4316127961561473; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1375627667531678
The supply of credit to the Brazilian population has grown significantly in recent years. However, the context in which this inclusion in the financial market took place brought alarming rates of family indebtedness. This problem aroused interest in promoting actions aimed at its prevention, as well as improving the relationship between individuals and finances. One of the institutions that comprised the proposal was the Central Bank of Brazil, aiming to spread financial citizenship, a concept recently discussed, which refers to the exercise of the rights and duties of individuals with regard to financial life. Financial citizenship is supported by a context of financial inclusion and education, consumer protection, and participation in the dialogue with the National Financial System. In this sense, the experience lived as a volunteer student, in the Program for the Treatment of Super-indebted Consumers (PROENDIVIDADOS) guided the accomplishment of this work, which had as its proposed objectives: to analyze financial citizenship in the daily life of indebted consumers and, specifically, to characterize the profile of users of PROENDIVIDADOS, identifying the main problems presented by consumers and assessing the exercise of financial citizenship based on the experiences of users of PROENDIVIDADOS. The methodological path adopted was based on the qualitative approach, with participant observation as an instrument of data collection. The results show that the consumers served by PROENDIVIDADOS, most of them are retired and that they have been exercising financial citizenship in a precarious way, mainly due to the way in which they are financially included, without access due to financial education and weakened in your protection. However, these factors show the urgency of actions that expand access to financial citizenship, in its broadest sense, a job to be carried out continuously and systematically, through the cooperation of different bodies, whether public or private, with the due responsibility of the State.

Historically, the brazilian population has built an adverse relationship with the administration of personal finance. Long periods of economic crisis, low distribution of income and opportunities, delegated to families spending habits incompatible with the minimum income level of the country. The increased production of things, advance credit for your purchase and the creation of consumer culture, are some factors that support for the consolidation and the ebbing of a company "heavilyin debt". In contemporary times, the consumers even need to prove income to gain access to credit and thus acquire products and services, in addition, has operated as a means of signification and social inclusion. The facilitation of access to credit not brought with it financial education, which contributes to that families don't enjoy a improve quality of life, and thus trigger problems like: indebtedness, over-indebtedness, family conflicts, among others. Thus, this work was an experienced stage at the core of support for over-indebtedness and aims to analyze the main strategies for consumer education and consequences of over-indebtedness faced by the consumers who use the services. For this, a survey of exploratory and qualitative nature. As a conclusion that the problem of over-indebtedness is in addition to the lack of financial education and materializes from the precarious access to financial resources in addition to the incentives to an insatiable consumer culture that adds to property values, emotions, and sense of belonging.
