This research presents an analysis in a unit of the My House My Life Program in Paulista / PE, which aims to understand the extent to which users of minimal dwellings use furniture and equipment compatible with their spaces? For this purpose, it has as its general objective: to evaluate the compatibility of furniture and equipment used by users in minimal dwellings. Considering that in recent years, housing has been increasingly reduced, be it access via private initiative or through Government programs, the fact is that the progressive reduction of spaces has brought questions about how to compose minimal areas, with compatible furniture, which allows the functionality of these environments and ensure comfort for users. In this way the work sought through the specific objectives: to describe how the appropriation of spaces is being made through the use and disposition of furniture and equipment, as well as to verify, by measuring measures, whether the minimum dwellings meet the criteria of NBR 15575 -1. The methodology adopted for the qualitative research included bibliographic survey, data collection from technical visits, on-site observation, interview and photographic record. The results point to the need to determine more demanding criteria in relation to functionality in popular housing since users will not always have access to bespoke furniture as a way to compensate for the lack of internal space.
