Issues of gender and sexuality are generally not recurring topics in Chemistry education and the initial training of Chemistry teachers. However, there is a recognized need for future Chemistry teachers to be prepared to address the diversity present in classrooms. In this con-text, the aim of this research was to understand, through the (auto)biographical narratives of undergraduate Chemistry students, their experiences regarding gender and sexuality in the school/academic context. The research was qualitative and involved the participation of seven undergraduate students enrolled in the Mandatory Supervised Internship III and Mandatory Supervised Internship IV at a federal public university. The research instrument was the (au-to)biographical narratives written by the students, obtained through a single-question questio-nnaire created on the Google Forms platform. For the analysis of the (auto)biographical narra-tives, analytical categories were considered a posteriori. The results of the analyses concer-ning the students' experiences with gender and sexuality issues in the school/academic con-text, as reported in their (auto)biographical narratives, indicated: the absence of discussion on gender and sexuality issues within the school and/or academic environment; uncertainty on how to act, intolerance, and/or prejudice by students/teachers regarding gender and sexuality issues in the school and/or academic setting; disrespect and bullying related to gender and sexuality issues in the school and/or academic environment; respect for gender and sexuality issues within the academic context; contributions of courses/programs regarding gender and sexuality issues in the school and/or academic environment; knowledge of how to act on gen-der and sexuality issues in my teaching practice; and ways to integrate gender and sexuality issues into Chemistry education. Therefore, this research can contribute to discussions about gender and sexuality issues in the initial training of Chemistry teachers, as it presents the ex-periences of students and highlights how the absence of these issues in professional training can hinder inclusive education.

Currently, with the advancement of technology and access to digital resources, the number of useful tools for teaching science has diversified and grown. However, teaching resources such as the textbook (LD) remain one of the most important and accessible for teachers. Therefore, it is worth highlighting that the quality of the content present in the textbook is an essential factor for the quality of teaching practice. In this sense, sexuality is an essential topic in anyone’s life. From an early age, individuals are exposed to questions and discoveries about their own sexual identity. Therefore, it is extremely important that this subject is addressed appropriately in textbooks, which are one of the main sources of knowledge for teenagers in their final years of elementary school. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to present research developed through the analysis of three textbooks used by public elementary schools in the state of Pernambuco. The research aimed to analyze how the theme “sexuality” is referred to in elementary school textbooks (LD) for the 8th year, adopted by a public school in the state of Pernambuco. Given the findings, it was evident that textbooks initially focus on exposing content that predominantly values the biological aspects of human beings. By focusing exclusively on the biological aspects of sexuality, textbooks reinforce gender stereotypes, norms and traditional patterns of behavior, contributing to the maintenance of a conservative and limited view on the subject. However, LDs were found that included content related to sexuality within social and psychological aspects.

This research sought to reflect on the visibility of gender studies in the Degree in Pedagogy, Campus Dois Irmãos, Recife, Pernambuco Dois Irmãos campus. The theoretical framework was drawn up based on Scott (1995), Louro (1997), Carvalho (2015), Rosemberg (2001), Santos and Souza (2020), Grossi (1998), Saviani (2020), Laville and Dionne (1999). Methodologically, a document analysis was carried out based on the PPC's of the Degree in Pedagogy, which are two, the first one had in the year 2010, and the current one, in the year 2018. gender in the Pedagogy course, which can be viewed in the course menus. We understand that it is necessary to expand this discussion on this subject in an articulated way, because it will be through the deepening of issues related to the body, gender and sexualities that we will have professionals prepared to deal with the systemic practices of machismo, sexism and all kinds of violence to people who do not conform to the sex-gender system.
