Utilizando a teoria da Agenda Setting, de Maxwell McCombs, e conceitos de poder em Max Weber, Louis Althusser e Michel Foucault, analisamos como a mídia contribui para a construção e direcionamento de um discurso voltado a moldar as percepções dos leitores a partir da invisibilização da insegurança alimentar e a consequente perpetuação da desigualdade social. A metodologia envolveu a análise qualitativa das matérias jornalísticas publicadas nas 314 edições diárias do periódico ao longo de 2021, ano em que se comemorou 75 anos da publicação da primeira edição da obra Geografia da Fome, do médico Josué de Castro, e a instituição, pelo Ministério Público de Pernambuco, do Núcleo de Direito Humano à Alimentação e Nutrição Adequadas Josué de Castro (Núcleo DHANA), para atuar com atividades que possibilitassem a redução da situação de insegurança alimentar que atingia cerca de 2,1 milhões de pernambucanos.Item A greve geral de 1917 em Pernambuco nas páginas dos jornais(2021-12-15) Ferreira, Aldo de Sousa; Bandeira, Élcia de Torres; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4669638328828195; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5526451022673419The year 1917 is one of the most important in human history, in addition to having marked the height of the First World War (1914-1918), it was the year of the rise of the political influence of the working class, which, due to the crises caused by the war, organized several strikes demanding better living and working conditions. In Brazil, one of the effects of the conflict in Europe was the scarcity of basic necessities; not having a salary increase in the same proportion, the workers sought their rights through a General Strike. The present work aims to investigate issues related to the 1917 General Strike in Pernambuco, emphasizing aspects such as: the political and social organization of workers in Pernambuco: unions, associations and other types of institutions, the factors that led to the declaration of strike and its consequences, in addition to the participation of newspapers, the main means of communication of the period, as an influencing element of public opinion.
