Item O Xangô Pernambucano no Museu do Estado de Pernambuco: a narrativa reproduzida no Núcleo Afro-brasileiro da Exposição Pernambuco Território e Patrimônio de um Povo(2024-03-04) Santana, Luiz Felipe de; Silva, Lucas Victor; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4776423706933290This article seeks to analyze the Xangô Pernambucano nucleus that makes up the permanent exhibition Pernambuco: Territory and Heritage of the People at the Pernambuco State Museum (MEPE). We will initially discuss the constitution of the collection that makes up the collection and then the way in which these objects are presented in the exhibition. On this occasion, we will debate the function of historical museums and the legitimacy that the narratives reproduced in these spaces have in society. Our research sources are: the curatorial text of the exhibition and the expography of the exhibition core, analyzed from the perspective of History. Our theoretical foundation drew on authors such as Francisco Regis L. Ramos and Myrian Sepúlveda dos Santos. As results of the investigation, we affirm the understanding of the narrative of the Xangô Pernambucano exhibition center as a reproduction of Gilberto Freyre's interpretation of the formation of Brazilian identity.Item Perseguição às religiões de matriz africana no Recife: a imprensa e seu poder de influência (1937 - 1945)(2021-07-13) Carneiro, Jonas Durval; Silva, Marcília Gama da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0090863442089957; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4398740179310707The present work aims to analyze the persecution of religions of African origin in Recife during the New State based on representations constructed by the press. This refers to the organization and selection of actions, spaces, people, that are understood as following processes for a certain event. In the religious space, the ritual occupies a prominent place, because of its educational, doctrinal character and its transcendental nature. The “louvação de Oyá” is a ritual proper of the one Afro-Brazilian Religion called Nação Xambá. The history of this religion is closely linked to the coronation of “Orixá” Oyá Dupé by Maria de Oyá - the first priestess of the religious community Xambá. This coronation takes place at middday on December 13, 1932 by Mister Artur Rozendo: religious leader called babalorixá in your religion. This ritual was perpetuated in this religious group, by the second priestess “Ialorixá” Mãe Biu for more than 43 years, becoming an example of resistance to ancestry. The first religious temple in this community called "terreiro" was closed for 12 years and its leader was killed after a religious persecution of police, leading to his death. This persecution of African religions sought to prohibit people from professing their religion during the 1930s.This monograph was the result of the ethnographic research of this ceremony of the “Louvação de Oiá” on December 13, 2018 in the Temple of the Nação Xambá which is located at 65 on Rua Severina Paraíso, neighborhood of the São Benedito - Olinda. It was used as a theoretical reference for this monograph Mariza Peirano and Vadir Pedde, seeking to apply Stanley Tambiah's Theory of Performance to the referred ritual.Item Eugenia espectral: uma análise crítica sobre o racismo kardecista perante as religiões de matrizes afroindígenas(2019) Lima, Henrique Falcão Nunes de; Paula Junior, Josias Vicente de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8013351027708968; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7590607357596964This monography adresses a critique of the practice of eugenics based on Kardecist spiritism in Brazil towards of Afro-indigenous matrices religions and their influences on practitioners of such traditions, marginalized from their earliest days. With the arrival of French doctrine, the imageof the good spiritualist was created, the term “white table” as a synonym of virtue, segregating the other indigenous and black spiritualist religions already existing in the country, these exercised by enslaved and others subordinated by the aristocracy. Then a parameter is made of the whiteningthesis in Brazil post slavery, wich used the Eugenia and “scientific racism”, with these religious conflicts, demonstrating that racism goes beyond living bodies.
