(2023-09-04) Figueira, Isabela Patrícia de Andrade; Correa, Marcus Metri; Oliveira, Flávia Milene Moura de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3722390324317011; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2362312604592715
The present Final Course Work addresses a comprehensive assessment of soil characteristics and its potential use within the region of the Potiguara Indigenous territory. Utilizing cartographic data, laboratory analyses, and modeling, maps were created that highlight fundamental aspects for the sustainable management of these lands. The distribution of soils in the territory was analyzed, revealing the prevalence of argisols, followed by spodosols, gleisols, neosols, and mangrove soils. The analysis of land potential for irrigation identified limiting factors such as VIB, textural class, reduction zone depth, and others, which directly influence agricultural productivity. The estimation of Available Water in the soil was conducted through pedotransfer models, resulting in a map that assists in the selection of suitable crops for different soil profiles and optimizes water usage. Furthermore, the work integrates the experience gained from the internship at Embrapa Solos, where practical and enriching knowledge related to research in geoprocessing, soils, and water resources was acquired. The study provides valuable information for the sustainable management of the lands, promoting environmental conservation and agricultural efficiency.
