    Tratamento multimodal de carcinoma de células escamosas em felino: cirurgia reconstrutiva, eletroquimioterapia e criocirurgia - Relato de caso

    The ESO (Mandatory Supervised Internship) report aims to describe the activities experienced during the internship period from April 1, 2024, to June 14, 2024. The ESO lasted for 420 hours and was conducted at CORe (Centro Oncológico do Recife) as well as at the Hospital Veterinario do Recife. Throughout the internship period, activities related to the surgical clinic took place, allowing for the consolidation of knowledge acquired during the college degree, including performing approximately 142 surgical procedures. Furthermore, this report will delve deeper into the case of a cat with squamous cell carcinoma and the techniques applied in the patient's treatment.

    The current work aims to describe the developed activities for the fulfillment of the Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI), held in the Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE, located in the west part of the city Recife, Pernambuco, from June 27, 2022 to October 7, 2022, totalizing 420 hours. The MSI was guided by Professor Dr. Daniela Maria Bastos de Souza from the Department of Animal Morphology and Physiology and supervised by Dr. Maria Raquel Almeida, Veterinary Doctor at the Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE This work was divided into two chapters, in the first one the activities developed during the internship experience are described. In the second chapter, a case of a feline submitted to a nasectomy was reported as a surgical treatment measure for a squamous cell carcinoma. The focus of the case was on the anesthetic protocol used, as the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the drugs used.

    The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) corresponds to a compulsory subject that belongs the curriculum of the Veterinary Medicine Course of the Rural Federal University of the Pernambuco (UFRPE). The internship must be carried out in up to two areas of veterinary medicine, and the student must complete a compulsory workload of 420 hours. The ESO in the area in which it is intended to act, the student can experience practical experiences in which apply the knowledge acquired during graduation. This work is a partial requirement for obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, and was carried out under the supervision of Professor Dr. Moacir Bezerra de Andrade and Co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo Cavalcanti and was divided into two phases: the first one describes the activities developed in the Veterinary Surgical Clinic area of the Hospital Veterinário Harmonia de Boa Viagem and the Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE, from August to November 2021, and the second one describes an accompanied case report during the stage related to Conchectomy associated with partial ablation of the pinna in a feline with squamous cell carcinoma.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) was carried out under the guidance of Profa. Dr. Andrea Alice da Fonseca Oliveira at the veterinary clinic Clinshop Show Animal in Maceió-AL, from 17/08/2020 to 11/30/2020, under the supervision of Drº. Arnaldo Cesar de Oliveira Gomes Lira. ESO had a total duration of 420 hours. This report aimed at describing the structural framework of the site and activities developed by student Mayara Seabra Cheloni during the internship, in the areas of Clinical Medicine and Surgical Clinic of dogs and cats, with the main objectives of the clinic granting the neutering of dogs and cats of the low-income population and low-cost clinical care, as well as the objective of presenting a case report of feline squamous cell carcinoma. knowledge acquired during graduation. From the experiences lived during the internship, it was possible to reflect and deepen the question of the reality experienced in small clinics and the routine of these establishments.
