This report describes activities performed in the area of anesthesiology in three schools of Veterinary Medicine, accounting for a total workload of 424 hours. It was possible to follow 201 anesthetic procedures in different species, sectors and types of surgeries. As the wild animals category within anesthesiology was of greater interest, we chose to describe the procedures involving these animals, with a total of five patients, emphasizing the limitations and difficulties regarding the management and anesthetic procedure. When dealing with anesthetic management of wild animals, knowledge about the particularities and behavior of each species, care as to the safety of the team and the animal, previous organization of all necessary equipment is necessary. The pharmacological containment, for these, is intended for physical examination, collection of biological materials, clinical and surgical treatments among others. In order to avoid stress by containment, as well as to ensure the safety of the team, pre-anesthetic evaluation is not always possible, being the observation to the professional, which in some cases is also difficult, being essential, safety in the protocols and doses used. , in order to avoid trans and post anesthetic complications, and should be prepared to reverse them if they occur. Despite the limitations and challenges, anesthetic management in wild animals is possible with quality and safety.Item Relatório do Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório: uso da fibrotoscopia no diagnóstico e tratamento de otite em cães - Relato de caso(2019-07-17) Alves, Rafaela Maria Marques da Silva; Rolim, Maria Betânia de Queiroz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5676854885081836; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0398531340852469The Mandatory Supervised Internship was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Maria Betânia de Queiroz Rolim and the supervision of Veterinarian Bruce Lins Ferreira da Silva at the Pet Dream Veterinary Hospital 24h - Boa Viagem unit, Recife, Pernambuco, in the areas of Small Medical Clinic animals and Small Animal Surgical Clinic. The training took place under the guidance of Professor Lílian Sabrina Silvestre de Andrade and supervision of the Veterinary Medicine Maria Raquel de Almeida, and was based on the follow-up of the hospital routine of the anesthetic procedures performed at the veterinary hospital. The objective was to highlight the routine of the internship, covering aspects of the place, activities developed and casuistry. In addition, the case report of a pediatric patient treated during the stage submitted to sciatic and femoral nerve block for femoral osteosynthesis, presenting particularities of the pediatric patients, anesthetic techniques employed, as well as the drugs used, is also presented. Locoregional anesthesia has been widely used in veterinary medicine, since it is possible to reduce the requirement of general anesthetics for submission of a favorable transoperative and reduce the use of analgesic drugs in the postoperative period of the animals, thus promoting the reduction of effects associated with them. Femoral and sciatic nerve blocks proved to be effective in increasing the postoperative pain threshold in patients who underwent orthopedic surgery, which is known to promote moderate to severe pain.Item Megaesôfago congênito em canino da raça fila brasileiro – relato de caso(2019-02-01) Leite, Raphaela Mabel Oliveira; Santos, Edna Michelly de Sá; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5706618430575429; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5123311015694715Megaesophagus is a pathology characterized by generalized esophageal dilatation and hypoperistalism, which may be of congenital, idiopathic or secondary acquired origin. The main species affected is the canine, possibly having a predilection for some breeds of dogs, but it has also been described in felines, cattle, ferrets, equines and camelids of the new world. Anamnesis, physical examination and imaging tests were performed in order to obtain the diagnosis. After the treatment, the animal presented improvement on its clinical condition. This case was watched over the period of mandatory supervised internship at Unesp-Botucatu from October 2 to November 30, 2018.Item Descrição das atividades desenvolvidas no Santo Agostinho Hospital Veterinário (SAHV), localizado em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais(2019-02-01) Silva, Gabriela Fernandes Dias da; Oliveira, Andrea Alice da Fonseca; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2519790342576901; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1928546805313289EstágioSupervisionadoObrigatório (ESO) is a compulsory course of the 11th semester of the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicinewith a total workload of 420 hours.
