The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) represents the final Veterinary Medicine training period at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, covering 420 (four hundred and twenty) hours of activities. During this internship, students can choose their area of activity, which generally aligns with their future professional interests. This article, therefore, outlines the activities undertaken during ESO in two different instances: CETRAS Tangara, which specializes in the care of wild animals, and the HVU - UFRPE Surgical Clinic, which focuses on companion animals. Regarding methodology, at CETRAS Tangara, the student participated in various activities, from primary care for puppies to screening, diagnosis, and clinical and surgical treatment of wild animals. During this period, she experienced the routine of the HVU - UFRPE Surgical Clinic, where surgeries were carried out on domestic animals, as well as pre, trans, and post-operative follow-up. The internship experience narrated here proved to be enriching, improving practical skills in medical and surgical clinics, animal handling, nutrition, and essential care. Finally, it is possible to say that ESO enabled valuable interactions and exchanges of knowledge between the intern and supervisors, strengthening both professional and personal bonds.
