The mandatory supervised internship (ESO) is a required subject of the curricular matrix of the veterinary medicine course at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, with a total workload of 420 hours. The student has the opportunity to choose one or more areas to be experienced during this period, being able to closely monitor and assist in various procedures, being supervised by a professional in the chosen area. The ESO took place from February 14 to May 5, 2022 at Animalis – Surgery and Veterinary Clinic, in the area of anesthesiology, totaling 420 hours. This report describes the activities carried out in veterinary anesthesiology and describes a report on the use of dexamethasone in the tumescence technique for mastectomy in a canine.
