These changes are confirmed in animals undergoing imaging tests such as x-rays and ultrasonography. Accompanying generally elderly dogs, medium or large, without predisposition of race and sex. Splenopathies are common diseases in this species, and may be associated with benign diseases, with an excellent prognosis, as well as diseases with a high degree of malignancy and a high mortality rate. Splenectomy is, in some cases, the measure adopted as therapeutic conduct. The objective of this work was to report the care of a 13-year-old female Poodle, who was admitted to the Arionaldo de Sá Veterinary Clinic for clinical consultation. Additional tests, such as ultrasonography, blood count and serum biochemistry, chest radiography and electrocardiogram were requested, in order to obtain the diagnosis and assess the general condition of the patient. Complementary exams revealed the presence of a rounded structure in the spleen, with high vascularity at the Doppler, but with no pulmonary metastasis. Based on the complementary tests, the animal was referred for splenectomy. After removal of the organ, it was sent in 10% formalin for histopathological examination for neoplasia analysis and graduation of possible malignancy.Item Megaureter Esquerdo associado a Hidronefrose: relato de caso em cadela(2019-01-17) Costa, Fred George Tenório da; Almeida, Edvaldo Lopes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1496582925826113Item Terapia celular em lesões articulares, tendíneas e ligamentares de equinos(2019-12-13) Cavalcanti, Augusto César Souza de Hollanda; Almeida, Edvaldo Lopes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1496582925826113The Mandatory Supervised Internship is part of the curriculum of completion of the course of Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. The student completed his total workload of 420 hours in the period from September 9 to November 29. The ESO was carried out in two phases: The first at the Medical Assistance and Instelment for Sporthorses Veterinary Team in the city of São Paulo - SP, which provides home sports medical care to more than 250 horse athletes. The second phase was held at the Equine Hospital of Bosdreef, in the municipality of Moerbeke-Waas - Belgium, which has as its main target audience high performance horses. The aim of the internship was to acquire technical-scientific knowledge about the surgical clinic of horses by following several cases in both institutions. During the first stage of the ESO, home visits were made to monitor the horses' performance, athletic performance and health status. In the second stage, procedures were performed in the areas of orthopedics, neurology, medical and surgical clinic and diagnostic imaging. This report describes ESO's activities in two chapters. The first describes the report of the actions developed in the internship, and the second presents a literature review on cell therapies in equine articular, tendon and ligament injuries.
