    Hidroginástica para a Comunidade Sítio dos Pintos: projeto de extensão na UFRPE

    The Universities are constituted with three pillars, research, teaching and extension, the extensions has the function of, made the knowledge produced inside the campus come to the community who lives around, it is a very important social commitment. In this sense, the present study seeks to analyze as the Sítio dos Pintos community in the area around the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE), realize the benefits of the extension project called Hidroginástica na UFRPE. To achieve this goal, the specific objectives were outlined: Present the historical and legal context of the Extension Project at the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco and the Hydrogynastic Extension Project for the Sítio dos Pintos/Recife-PE Community; identify the reasons and needs that make the participants of the Extension Project seek hydrogynastics as physical activity; Present the participants' perception of healthrelated aspects as participants of the Hydrogynastic Project for the Sítio dos Pintos community. The methodology was a qualitative one, descriptive research in the field of search. the sample was adults and elderly people who attend the hydrogymnastics project in the interpretation of data, the theory of motivation and emotion was used, the results point out that what motivated the subject to seek water aerobics was physical pain, this is found in the biological motifs, located at the base of the pyramid, but what causes the adhesion are the benefits, perceived through weel-being, relating the biological to the social, implying the quality of life of the practicing community, especially the elderly people.

    Benefícios da prática da hidroginástica para idosos no projeto de extensão da UFRPE

    This research aims at analyzing the benefits of hydrogymnastics practice and seeks to answer the following question: What are the benefits of the regular practice of hydrogymnastics for the elderly in the extension project "Elderly and the practice of aquatic activities" carried out at UFRPE in a partnership between the Pro-Rectory of Extension and the Department of Physical Education. In the search for answers, we outline the following general and specific objectives: to analyze the benefits of regular practice of hydrogymnastics in the UFRPE extension project; to identify the concept, origin and benefits of hydrogymnastics in the literature; analyze the objectives of an extension project and according to them identify the benefits obtained in the project by the elderly and their social relevance. The methodology consists of an empirical research, carried out with the group of members that integrate the project in question. Altogether, there are 35 elderly people between 60 and 79 years old. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire of 11 (eleven) questions, answered by all, in which we were able to learn about the reasons why these individuals sought the water gymnastics classes, changes in sleep quality before and after the beginning of the practices, taking medications, the benefits that the classes were bringing and how they evaluate the classes offered by the project. The instrument of data analysis was content analysis. The results point out that, most of those who are looking for water aerobics classes, do so aiming for an improvement in health and that improvement is one of the main benefits mentioned by them, especially when it comes to pain. They also mention a significant improvement in self-esteem. When asked about the degree of satisfaction, almost all seniors consider water aerobics classes to be very satisfactory. Thus, it was possible to perceive that the practice of hydrogymnastics by the elderly is important to improve health, provide well-being and increase the quality of life.

    A percepção de pais/mães/responsáveis sobre a participação de crianças e adolescentes no projeto de extensão universitária: Barbatanas da Rural

    This study is based on importance of sporting modality swimming, because there are several reasons that lead us looking for the practice of this modality. Many people seek the swimming activity for improve posture, respiratory re-education, low impact activity, improvement of the cardiovascular system and physical capacities (strength, endurance, coordination). In this context, the aim of this study was to analyze the perception of parents and guardians about the possible benefits for children and teenagers swimming practitioners in a university extension project. Through a qualitative nature, data were collected by a semi-structured interview with 18 parents and guardians of students of “Projeto Barbatanas da Rural”, from Rural Federal University of Pernambuco – Sede/Dois Irmãos, Recife. The data interpretation was performed through the content analysis method. The results showed affection and confidence of parents and guardians with the social project, revealing be an important action for children and teenagers, improving the perception of their children about sociability and responsibility in socializing situations. It is concluded that the extension project is doing a good work in front of the community, obtained positive results from parents and guardians of students, because they are perceiving growth and development of children not only in the sporting modality that practice, but also as a human.
