Item Comportamento sedentário e sua relação com o desempenho acadêmico: uma revisão narrativa da literatura(2024-03-07) Joaquim, Marcos Emmanuel Miranda; Lima, Anna Myrna Jaguaribe de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6743434574905339Introduction: Sedentary behavior can be understood as any activity carried out while sitting or lying down, which does not significantly increase energy expenditure beyond resting levels, while academic performance can be understood as the degree of knowledge and the development of abilities of an individual in the course of a given educational level. Objective: In this sense, the objective of this work is to carry out a literature review on the influence of sedentary behavior on students' academic performance. Methodology: In this way, the bibliographic research method was carried out on the Scielo, Pubmed and Google Scholar platforms, between the months of October and November 2023. Using the following key words: “sedentary behavior” AND “academic performance”; “Sedentary Behavior” AND “Academic Performance” AND “Students”. Results: A total of 14 works were found, 13 articles and 1 doctoral thesis, where 1 article was found in the Scielo database, 1 doctoral thesis was found in the Google Scholar database and 1 doctoral thesis was found in the Scielo database. Pubmed 12 articles were found, based on the categorization criteria, analysis of titles and abstracts, 1 doctoral thesis from the Google Scholar database and 12 articles from the Pubmed database were defined. Conclusion: According to data analysis, it can be concluded that sedentary behavior can have a substantial negative impact on students' academic performance and that to combat the negative effects of sedentary behavior on academic performance, it is crucial to promote a lifestyle active and healthy among students.Item Aceitabilidade, aderência e segurança do exercício de agachamento isométrico na parede não supervisionado como quebra do comportamento sedentário em estudantes(2024-02-09) Cavalcante, Anderson; Farah, Breno Quintella; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6914216878368661; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4871147676147788Introduction: Sedentary behavior involves remaining in a seated, reclined, and/or lying position with metabolic expenditure equal to or similar to basal values for extended periods. This behavior poses health risks, such as affecting blood pressure and endothelial function, among other issues. Reducing sedentary behavior is crucial, and there are potential ways to decrease it, although their feasibility has not been thoroughly analyzed. Isometric wall squat exercises may be a viable strategy. Objective: To assess the Acceptability, adherence, and safety of unsupervised isometric wall squat exercises as a strategy to break sedentary behavior in university students. Methods: Five students participated in the training group (GT) and performed isometric wall squats every hour with intensity determined by incremental testing over 12 weeks. Acceptability, adherence, and safety of the intervention were evaluated at the end of the eighth week. Results: The GT demonstrated 60% acceptability, with a 50% adherence rate. No health problems were reported by the participants. Conclusion: The isometric wall squat appears to be safe with good adherence and acceptability as a break in sedentary behavior in higher education students.Item Modificações no consumo alimentar, na atividade física e comportamento sedentário em crianças em idade escolar no período de isolamento social da pandemia de COVID-19(2022-12-05) Lessa, Lorena Liandra Emídio; Tassitano, Rafael Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8162584900913172; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3532218757424078Social isolation was used as a tactic to slow the spread of severe respiratory syndrome caused by coronavirus type 2 (SARS -CoV-2) in several countries around the world, including Brazil. As a result, schools were closed and children's schedules were changed, which had an impact on diet, sedentary behavior and physical activity. The aim of the study is to analyze changes in diet, sedentary behavior and physical activity among school-age children during the COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study with a quantitative-qualitative methodology was carried out with 120 fathers, mothers or other guardians of children aged 5 to 10 years enrolled in five full-time schools in Arapiraca, Alagoas, Brazil. A cross-sectional study with a quantitative-qualitative methodology was carried out with 120 fathers, mothers or other guardians of children aged 5 to 10 years enrolled in five full-time schools in Arapiraca, Alagoas, Brazil. To achieve the research objective, two interviews were carried out between May 27 and June 5, addressing topics such as sedentary behavior, physical activity and food before and during social isolation. Significant differences (p < 0.05) were found in routine and sleep time (10% increase), screen time (36% increase) before vs during the COVID-19 pandemic, on weekdays and weekends, which involves sedentary behavior. It was also observed a reduction in the practice of physical activity (54%) and worsening in food (66.7%). Therefore, the results point to COVID-19 pandemic behaviors that can be harmful to children's health, and schools can be a key social environment for protection against exposure to such behaviors.
