The article aims to present a brief history of the Angola contracts and their relevance in the Portuguese empire, in addition to presenting a case study through the analysis of the consultations of the Angola available in the overseas historical achieve on the auctioning of the contract and its conditions for administration from 1674 to 1698 during which Diogo da Fonseca Henriques was administrator.
