Following the perspectives addressed by the New Political History and the importance of the debates about the period in which the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil (1964 -1985) was in force, this article aims to historicize, to point out the practical approaches and the modus operandi of a of the mechanisms of social control and repression during the military regime in Pernambuco, the Death Squad.
