The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of the São Paulo Grand Prix, which took place with a full audience in November 2021, in the context of a country in the early stages of resuming public attendance at events following the social isolation measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, a comparison was made with the 2019 and 2022 editions of the event, which did not require the adoption of biosafety measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The research methodology employed can be classified as descriptive, bibliographic, and documentary. In collecting information and secondary data, articles, books, websites, and reports prepared by the São Paulo Tourism and Events Observatory (OTE), in collaboration with the Center for Tourism Economy Intelligence (CIET) at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and the São Paulo State Commerce Federation (Fecomércio-SP) Tourism Council were utilized. The main findings indicate that the event attracts a larger audience each year, contributing to tourism, revenue generation, and job creation in the city of São Paulo. Additionally, the event has a significant impact on the city's image due to its strong media performance and is used by the government to promote political values. Therefore, the result of this study suggests that the 2021 edition of the event demonstrated a positive performance, even in the midst of a still delicate public health scenario.

This study aims to analyze the relationship of socioeconomic variables and sports performance in the paying public of the 2022 Brazilian Championship, that is, the relationship of these variables with the demand for championship matches. The Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method was used to estimate the relationships between the dependent variable, the paying public, and the explanatory variations, which were selected according to the literature on demand for sports and, more specifically, from previous work on Brazilian football. The results of the chosen model, by selection criteria based on the literature, indicate a negative relationship between the demand for soccer with income, with games played in the middle of the week and with a bad performance of the home team. On the other hand, it is directly proportional to the population of the host city, the capacity of the stadium and in games in which the visiting club is based in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo.
