In the context of Brazilian public university institutions, management adopted the necessary changes to ensure the maintenance of the teaching offer. The remote format for conducting the classes was the main one and it was around this modification that the others took place. From this perspective, the present study aimed to identify the impacts generated by the pandemic on the dynamics of teaching activities in Brazilian public universities and determine whether such impacts contributed to the development and/or intensification of Burnout syndrome in teachers. For this, the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Educators Survey (MBIES) was applied, which, associated with questions about the socio-economic profile of the participants, made up the questionnaire adopted for the research. The questionnaire was sent to 185 professors at the Serra Talhada-PE Academic Unit and 20 responses were returned. The data evaluation made it possible to identify the impacts generated by the pandemic, analyze the Burnout Syndrome subscales, and measure its existence in the institution. It was evident that management in higher education experienced difficult periods, and for that reason institutions needed more flexible, differentiated, and understanding managers. To prevent work overload, it is necessary to adopt risk management practices, public management innovation measures, psychological monitoring of teachers, and, if necessary, apply changes to prevent the spread of the syndrome in the institution.Item Terceiro setor em ação: mitigação de impactos socioeconômicos provocados pela pandemia da COVID-19(2020-11-03) Cavalcanti, Waleska Mirelle de Souza; Brandão, Suiane Valença; Bilar, Alexsandro Bezerra Correia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4369592935630639; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9055757760457782; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4154225936777873The present work was relevant in view of the current pandemic scenario of COVID-19 and the consequences that its impacts have generated for the Third Sector Organizations (OTS), State and society.
