dc.description.abstractO artigo em questão analisa a atuação da Igreja Reformada no Brasil neerlandês (1630-1654), ao destacar a relação entre os predicantes reformados e os indígenas, especialmente os Potiguara, e a influência religiosa e política da Companhia das Índias Ocidentais (West-Indische Compagnie, WIC). É abordada a estruturação da Igreja Reformada, a evangelização dos povos nativos e a historiografia do período. Ressalta, ainda, figuras como Pedro Poti e Antônio Paraupaba. O trabalho contribui para a compreensão das interações religiosas e culturais do Brasil neerlandês.
dc.description.abstractxThe article in question examines the role of the Reformed Church in Dutch Brazil (1630-1654), highlighting the relationship between Reformed preachers and the indigenous people, particularly the Potiguara, and the religious and political influence of the Dutch West India Company (West-Indische Compagnie, WIC). It addresses the structuring of the Reformed Church, the evangelization of native peoples, and the historiography of the period. It also emphasizes figures such as Pedro Poti and Antônio Paraupaba. The work contributes to the understanding of the religious and cultural dynamics of Dutch Brazil.
