    A primeira filha e a trajetória de longevidade escolar: um estudo de caso sobre famílias de meios populares, Recife - PE

    A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo principal compreender as práticas que uma família de meios populares utilizou para que uma das filhas, a mais velha, alcançasse a longevidade escolar em Pernambuco (1990-2000). A família participante é composta por um total de seis (6) pessoas: a mãe, o pai e quatro filhas. O recorte temporal escolhido é de 1990 até 2000, correspondendo ao período do processo de escolarização dessas filhas. A família Sousa Mata é natural da cidade de Bom Jardim - PE, mas há vinte anos se estabeleceu na capital, Recife. Como aporte teórico, utilizamos Lahire (1997), Bourdieu (2007), Sarti (2011), entre outros. Na metodologia, utilizamos a História Oral, por meio da coleta de depoimentos em entrevistas. Os resultados encontrados apontam para uma família cujos pais exerceram papeis importantes e, ao mesmo tempo, diferentes na trajetória de escolarização dessa filha. O pai, além de manter financeiramente a família, também incentivava as filhas nos estudos, enquanto a mãe aparece no depoimento como protagonista nesse processo, desempenhando diferentes papeis: esposa, dona de casa e motivadora, disciplinadora e organizadora de todo o processo de escolarização, que resultou na longevidade escolar não só da participante da pesquisa, mas de todas as filhas. Além disso, a união entre as irmãs surge como um elo dentro dessa família, no qual uma pode influenciar a outra de maneira positiva. Da mesma forma, a mobilização individual também se mostrou um fator motivador, impulsionada pelo desejo de um futuro melhor.

    Sociologia e educação: como os conceitos sociológicos são aplicados nos Trabalhos de Conclusão de Curso sobre educação nos cursos de Ciências Sociais da UFPE e da UFRPE

    This work proposes to study, from a search in databases, Course Conclusion Papers defended in Social Sciences courses at Public Universities of Pernambuco that relate sociology with education carried out in the period from 2018 to 2023. To achieve the The proposed objective was to search for works in the electronic repositories of UFRPE (Federal Rural University of Pernambuco) and UFPE (Federal University of Pernambuco) and eighteen works were located. In order to explore the work, we read the research and decided to create three analysis groups for the work: education and public policy; education and educational institution; education and teaching of sociology. We conclude that the concepts of sociology were mobilized in the analysis of the phenomena studied in the course completion research. Therefore, the presence of these concepts in the research facilitated the interpretation of the data presented, in addition, the understanding of the facts could be better explored and understood, confirming the importance of sociological concepts for analyzes of education.

    Emancipação humana e social no núcleo musical do Projeto Social Peixotinho

    The present work aims to analyze the processes of human and social emancipation made possible by the social, artistic and educational work developed by the Peixotinho musical project. The research is inserted in the current context of teaching and learning music in the non-governmental organization (NGO) for children and young people coming from communities neighboring the Project and in their majority from the popular classes of Recife and Olinda. I present the guiding question: "Has the Núcleo Musical of Peixotinho contributed to the human and social emancipation of young residents of the periphery of Recife and Olinda?" and from there I formulate the hypothesis that Peixotinho is capable of generating emancipation through professional musical, artistic, and human formation of the student subjects, and that this formation is of an emancipatory character. We used semi-structured interviews as an instrument to collect data from managers and graduated students in order to answer the guiding question and discuss the experience of the Núcleo Musical Irmã Scheilla of the Projeto Peixotinho in the light of some theories of the sociology of education. I conclude that the Núcleo Musical, from the voices of the interviews, possesses the human and social emancipatory potential, starting from musical education but expanding to other dimensions of life.
