Food safety, product quality and customer satisfaction depend on a positive and productive environment where conflicts are managed effectively. This case study examines the importance of ethics in conflict management and how it can improve corporate environments, strengthen relationships between employees and boost the growth of companies in the food service sector. Ethics in conflict management is essential to the success of companies in the food service sector. By investing in ethical practices, companies can build healthier work environments, strengthen employee relationships and drive sustainable growth. This study aimed to understand how ethics is understood by employees/managers, whether it is practiced between employees and companies and how conflict management can influence these actions. In the survey, 57.5% of respondents believe that their colleagues do not act ethically in the workplace. With regard to frequent experiences with unethical situations, a considerable proportion of respondents (85%) had experienced situations they considered unethical at work, such as bullying (30%), discrimination (22.5%), gossip (17.5%) and gender prejudice (5%). Concern was expressed about the lack of effective and safe reporting channels, which is why only 7.5% of employees reported the conflict(s) to their superiors, demonstrating the concern of fear and fear of punishment and embarrassment in the workplace. In view of these findings, it is necessary to implement training, awareness campaigns and codes of conduct that reinforce the importance of ethics; create safe and effective reporting channels; investigate and punish cases of unethical behavior, demonstrating that the company does not tolerate inappropriate behavior.Item Programa Segundo Tempo Paradesporto desafios e possibilidades na mediação de conflitos sob a perspectiva da monitora extensionista: um estudo qualitativo(2021-07-16) Luciano, Fabiana da Silva; Pirauá, André Luiz Torres; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7971412342122230; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6404579680091614This study aims to analyze, from the perspective of the extension monitor, the challenges and possibilities during the mediation of conflicts in the second half program for sports . The research is qualitative in nature, and it s descriptive characteris tic partially followed the recommendations of the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research: A Synthesis of Recommendations. The study was carried out at the PSTP nucleus, at the Department of Physical Education (DEFIS), at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). From February 2019 to March 2020. The sampling strategy was a convenience sampling; the data collection methods were based on the phenomenon observed during the program's activities. Each conflict situation, as well as the strategies used for mediation, was analyzed by the researcher. The researcher's notes and memories were considered. As a result, the main most evident conflicts occurred in the intrapersonal sphere: the crisis of the disability itself, which caused a change in mood and stereotyped behavior. This fact interfered directly in the engagement of the participants; the interpersonal: due to the different types of disabilities, they present different behaviors that interfered in relationships; and th e group: they happened du ring manipulative activities. Conflicts arose in this context when there were material disputes, or for some undesirable attitudes. The initial strategies focused on preventive mediation, they had positive effects, other strategies were to engage them in t he organization of activities, transfer of simple responsibilities, thus distracting them from possible conflicts. Promoting feelings of joy, self confidence, and development of autonomy. With these strategies it was possible to ob serve a substantial impro vement in behavior. It is concluded that the interventions aimed to make the participants confident to carry out the activities, and at the same time bring benefits to their motor, cognitive and social development.
