Item Tratamento de ureterolitíase através do implante de cateter duplo-j por ureterotomia em um cão com obstrução ureteral unilateral - Relato de caso(2021-12-09) Andrade, Cláudio Barboza de; Evêncio Neto, Joaquim; Cavalcanti, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2816111822261115; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6373796657603477The ESO occurred between April 5th to July 9, 2021 at Animalis - Cirurgia e Clínica Veterinária, in the intensive care sector, and at the Hospital Veterinário PetDream, in the surgery sector. In all, 75 patients were followed up with varied clinical conditions. This allowed contact with different therapeutic conduct and surgical procedures that provide an extremely enriching experience. During the internship period, a case of ureteral obstruction was followed, which was reported in this paper. Urolites can be treated through clinical management (using medication and/or nutritional management) and surgical removal (a more invasive procedure). Urolithiasis can be treated through clinical management (using medication and/or nutritional management) and surgical removal (a more invasive procedure). Drug treatment does not always prove to be effective and may aggravate the patient's condition. Therefore, the assessment and surgical indication can be carried out as soon as possible. The present work had the objective to report the case of a male Yorkshire Terrier breed, 6 years old, castrated, weighing 2.9 kg, presenting signs of hydronephrosis, ureteral urolithiasis, vesical urolithiasis, vomiting, azotemia, and suspicion of infection of the urinary tract (UTI). The patient with left ureteral obstruction due to ureterolithiasis underwent ureterotomy and insertion of a double-j catheter for clearance. The use of the double-j catheter allowed the urinary flow through the left ureter without obstruction stenosis. The quantitative analysis of the urolith showed ammonium urate. The patient is being followed up for late observation of the results, especially the recovery of renal function. The success of this procedure demonstrates the effectiveness of the double-j catheter in case of ureteral obstruction.
