In 2020, the world faced a health crisis caused by Covid-19, its consequences impacted on various aspects of life in society. With micro-enterprises it was no different, therefore, this work aims to identify the factors that negatively impacted micro and small companies in Recife and the metropolitan region, as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. This is a quantitative and descriptive study. For data collection, 39 structure questionnaires were applied to the MPEs managers. The main difficulties encountered at the peak of the pandemic (2020-2021) by entrepreneurs were: lack of working capital, difficulty in sales and financial imbalance. Entrepreneurs also cited the increase in raw materials and their scarcity, the mandatory closure of trade, and for some, the decrease in credit due to late payments. Many of these difficulties remained after the peak of the pandemic (2022-2023).
