For a long time, the issue of school shifts in relation to students' sleep was made a secondary issue in studies that evaluate learning as a phenomenon governed by physical, psychological and social issues. The study of chronotype in relation to student performance is still a field little discussed in Brazil, so when we look at this topic, we still find a series of gaps with regard to academic production on the topic. Objective: The present work aims to carry out a narrative review of the literature on the influence of the relationship between sleep, chronotype and school shifts on the learning of adolescent students. Methodology: For this review, a search was carried out in the literature, using the Google Scholar database, with the following search key: “school shifts AND chronotype AND sleep AND school performance”, we searched for articles that were written in Portuguese. Results: Only 4 articles were found in the entire search on Google Scholar, based on the categorization criteria, analysis of titles and abstracts, and the four were analyzed based on the construction of this literature review, the articles addressed changes in the standard sleep patterns, chronotype and changes in the quality of life of students, indicating the influence of these factors on the circadian rhythm. Final Considerations: Finally, we consider that the chronotype/school shift/sleep quality relationship directly influences the learning processes of children and adolescents.

(2024-03-07) Joaquim, Marcos Emmanuel Miranda; Lima, Anna Myrna Jaguaribe de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6743434574905339
Introduction: Sedentary behavior can be understood as any activity carried out while sitting or lying down, which does not significantly increase energy expenditure beyond resting levels, while academic performance can be understood as the degree of knowledge and the development of abilities of an individual in the course of a given educational level. Objective: In this sense, the objective of this work is to carry out a literature review on the influence of sedentary behavior on students' academic performance. Methodology: In this way, the bibliographic research method was carried out on the Scielo, Pubmed and Google Scholar platforms, between the months of October and November 2023. Using the following key words: “sedentary behavior” AND “academic performance”; “Sedentary Behavior” AND “Academic Performance” AND “Students”. Results: A total of 14 works were found, 13 articles and 1 doctoral thesis, where 1 article was found in the Scielo database, 1 doctoral thesis was found in the Google Scholar database and 1 doctoral thesis was found in the Scielo database. Pubmed 12 articles were found, based on the categorization criteria, analysis of titles and abstracts, 1 doctoral thesis from the Google Scholar database and 12 articles from the Pubmed database were defined. Conclusion: According to data analysis, it can be concluded that sedentary behavior can have a substantial negative impact on students' academic performance and that to combat the negative effects of sedentary behavior on academic performance, it is crucial to promote a lifestyle active and healthy among students.

High-performance sports training requires performance and dedication from the athlete, often conflicting with other areas of their routine such as studies, for example. This athlete's dedication ends up taking his studies to the background, damaging his academic performance. Inflexible educational and sports laws are combined with the lack of favorable educational performance requirements and contribute to failure in academic performance or abandonment of studies by athletes. Therefore, we propose as research questions: what are the relationships between sports performance and the academic performance of student athletes in academic publications? What are the difficulties and successes identified in the student-athlete's double journey when reconciling the training routine with the school routine? And we define as a general objective: to understand the relationships between academic performance and sports and, specifically, to understand the relationship between sports performance and sports training and to understand the relationship between academic performance and schooling; Identify the difficulties and successes encountered in the double journey of student-athletes based on the analysis of studies published on the topic. To this end, we carried out a bibliographical research on scientific articles and obtained the following results: the analysis of the articles showed a conflict between dedication to sport and studies, and restrictive sporting and educational laws regarding this relationship. We conclude that it is essential to guide sports and educational laws, linking academic performance to sports, as well as dialogue between educational institutions, sports entities, families and student athletes themselves to find solutions that meet individual needs aiming at the human formation of quality.

The suspension of face-to-face classes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, led to the adoption and execution of the Exceptional Academic Period (PLE) in Brazilian federal public universities through the publication of Resolutions nº 85/2020 and after nº 185/2020. The Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, in compliance with these resolutions, started to offer, in remote format, curricular subjects and other activities, due to the suspension of face-to-face activities as recommended. With the provision of emergency remote teaching, the facilities and difficulties provided by its adoption in higher education began to be discussed. In view of this context, we start from the following concern: What are the impacts caused by the Sars-Cov-2 (Covid-19) pandemic on the academic performance of students of the Degree in Physical Education at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco? To answer this question, the general objective was proposed to identify the impacts caused by the Sars-Cov-2 (Covid-19) pandemic on the Degree in Physical Education at UFRPE, and as specific objectives: 1- Identify the differences between the Remote Learning and Distance Learning (EAD); 2- Identify how the Degree in Physical Education was organized to fulfill the pedagogical activities and to account for its eminently practical character in the social distance imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic; and 3- Identify some positive and negative aspects that facilitated and/or were impediments to teaching activities during the Sars-Cov-2 (Covid-19) pandemic for teachers and students. The present study consists of a qualitative research that aims to produce information, we use as a strategy the case study, about a current phenomenon in a real context, the case of the Degree Course in Physical Education at UFRPE in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Documents produced by UFRPE and by the course in its collegiate were analyzed. The results found when we analyzed the technical report of the DEFIS Teaching Commission, and by the Structuring Teaching Nucleus, point out as a positive consequence for students the opportunity to complete the course and for teachers to take a course in the area of information technology and as a consequence negative: lack and/or difficulty in connecting to the internet, lack of computer, difficulty in concentration for students and teachers, lack of mastery of platforms and lack of pedagogical practice to work with practical subjects. These negative factors were some of the main impacting consequences for the academic performance of UFRPE students.

It is already known that dance as a physical activity can provide the individual several health-related benefits. Some studies have pointed out that, in addition to these benefits, the systematic practice of physical activities can have a positive effect on school performance. However, it is not known whether dance, specifically, can influence children’s behavior and school performance. In this sense, the objective of the present study was to analyze if the regular practice of dance, while extracurricular content, can influence chilçdren’s behavior and school performance, from the perception of parents and dance teachers of two private schools of Recife/PE. For such, a descriptive study was carried out, with a quali-quantitative approach. Twelve parents/guardians of children practicing dance and three dance teachers from two private schools located in the North Zone of Recife/PE participated in the sample. As a data gather instrument, it was used a questionnaire for parents/legal guardians and another for teachers. The questionnaires contained open-ended and closed-ended questions, and were selfapplied. The results show that the parents/guardians participating in the study perceive that the children have a school performance that varies from good to very good, but do not make a relation between the dance practice and the students' school results, although they perceive the children's dance practice as a positive extracurricular activity. Parents and teachers recognize that children changes acquired from regular participation in dance classes, which can positively influence their school performance. The set of data allows us to conclude that parents and teachers, although they recognize positive contributions of dance practice in the children's behavior, cannot perceive dance as an agent in school performance.
