    A representação da cidade de Porto Alegre nas obras Clarissa e Olhai Os Lirios Do Campo, de Erico Verissimo

    This paper investigates how the city of Porto Alegre is represented in two novels of Erico Verissimo: Clarissa (1933) and Olhai os lírios do campo (1938). Narrative elements - mainly space and characters - were also analysed. The inquiry revealed how the construction of the protagonists of these novels is deeply associated with the environment of the city. The research also considers the process of urbanization of Porto Alegre during the 1930s as figured in both novels.
